And they lived up to the hype. Pizza was crisp, crunchy but perfectly cooked at the same time. Everything is homemade and the dough machine is within arms reach of the register. The meatball hero was equally as satisfying. The price is irrelevant & the fact it's located in shady strip mall. This is what pizza should taste like. It was our go to for years until the day care got our kid hooked on Papa Johns grossness, and we try to sneak it in when we can. For a while I was picking up a Papa Johns for him and a Carlucci's for us every pizza day. It is just the cheesiest, greasy in the right way pizza you are going to find. This is what a neighborhood pizza place should be. Note that there is an A team and a B team though. You will notice a difference on busy nights vs the slower ones. When they are on it is awesome. The parm bites are really good, but a bit much when you've got the pizza too. I'd skip the desert. The one time we tried it came out frozen. Probably one of the top pizza places in GR. This small hole in the wall place may not be a dine in delight but for delivery or takeout they have eclipsed local favorite Vitale's. Order the parmigian bites! They are so deliciously garlick smelling that'll it'll be tough to make it home without sneaking a couple. The traditional ham pizza was so delicious. I love how sweet the sauce is. If I didn't live 2.5 hours away this would be my go to pizza place. read more

I have tried to like their Pizza, but it geta worse everytime. Tried them again tonight since we do love the Carlucci bite's, but the rest is awful. My kids like plain cheese, but not when covered in Oregano. The whole bottom of the pizza was black and burnt. I called and they said they put Oregano and Oil on the cheese pizza, but would remake one for me. I drive back to the store and they tell me they can't give it to me unless I bring the old one back, which they did not tell me on the phone and tried to say the pizza should be burnt since they cook on cornmeal, which is nonsense. It is illegal for food establishments to take food back once it has left their building in the first place, and I had picture of the burnt pizza that was already in my trash can. The ladies at the counter are extremely rude and I was not about to drive back to their location a third time for a crappy pizza. We definitely won't be back. read more

Disappointing, turned on many people to this place.....Ordered a pizza, got delivery, the driver delivered the wrong pizza. We stopped him and he said to call the store and they will make you the correct one. Of course with Hungry kids the dove into a slice. I had already tipped the driver, nicely, called the store and they did NOTHING. They said they would not take a the pizza back with a slice out. We love to order pizza, and since we've tried Carlucci's there hasn't been any other pizza in our lives. I've drive across town if we ever move out of the neighborhood! We used to drive by this place, because it was in an awkward location... kind of at the corner- but tucked away in between a convenience store and massage place... we stopped and the convenience store and we smelled Carlucci's!!!! We vowed the next time we ordered pizza, we'd try it. Ironically, when we tried it the first time a father and his son mentioned to my husband that they don't live around here and they just come for the pizza. You can watch them toss the pizza dough which is cool! My son liked it. We started branching out from pizza and ordered a few non-pizza items... hot subs! Are you kidding me?! Buy 3 get one free! We got some and took them to movies in the park one time. Best decision ever! Finally, I ordered the meatballs one day, and as I'm rating them I thought to myself... Carlucci's would absolutely get 5 stars based on the taste of their pizza. Unfortunately, our family is batting about .500 on the service department. I called once and actually had to try and order with an employee who stated they were left there alone and didn't even know how to take my CC number. Another time, ordered a half and half pizza that looked like a solar eclipse that was 30% away from full. Was told I could "bring it back", as if I really wanted to drive 15 min across town-I mean, it's your screwup, so own it and offer a replacement delivered. I don't want to tear down a small business so i'm not giving them 1 star. you truly do get what you pay for and for that I'm not mad. it was just quite disappointing. the ingredients are clearly low quality the taste is a direct result. additionally, the crust was so burnt nobody could it eat it. i ended up throwing the pizza away and getting taco bell. as for the inside of the establishment, it looked very dirty and unsanitary. for that reason alone i wouldn't come back. Favorite local pizza joint, hands down. If you like Vitale's pizza sauce you'll love Carlucci's. We always go for a pepperoni mushroom onion pizza and cheese bread. Cheese bread has perfect amount of cheeses and garlic flavor, just make sure you get extra sides of sauce. Still haven't tried their spaghetti but I've heard great things! read more

The hubs and I are new to Grand Rapids and found this gem on our first night in our new place. Our dishes hadn't been delivered yet so we needed something easy to eat and delicious. After reading all the yelp reviews, we ordered a medium Chicago style hand tossed pizazz and the parmesean knots (don't skip the knots, you will regret it). The pizza was delivered quickly and piping hot by the owner! Sadly, they forgot our knots! The owner was awesome and had them remake our Pizza so it would be hot and our knots! He even let us keep the first pizza. It was all delicious and the customer service can't be beat! We found our new Pizza place! read more

First time trying out this restaurant. We got a 16" pizza, 12" pizza, Parmesan bites, and 3 drinks delivered for $40 (plus tip), so the pricing is very reasonable. Parmesan bites were delicious and come in a huge portion. The pizza was good as well. I mentioned to the delivery driver how big the cans of soda were and he said they had run out of them at the restaurant, so he stopped on his way to get them - so definitely two thumbs up for customer service. What I liked: The garlic knots/parm bites... These were AMAZING. AND you get a ton for an order! We got delivery and they were hot, cheesy, and awesome. Loved them. What I didn't like: The pizza. I never thought I'd say this as I absolutely LOVE cheese (its a main food group for me), but there was too much cheese on the pizza. We got a thin crust pepperoni and the cheese was three times as thick as the crust. Was insane. The sauce was too sweet for me as well. Reminded me of spagettio's sauce you get in a can...too sweet. I see a lot of families and kids like the place, so maybe this is more of a kids pizza type place! Will be going back again to try something different! read more

I just got by far the worst pizza I've ever got from you guys. We come here often and usually the food is great. Food is delicious fresh hot switched to carlucci after finding a familiar face worked here. Today I was disappointing how the manager treated another worker. Speaking to the lady she interpreted me continually directing her to do things. Customer service should be first priority as a manager she was lacking. DO NOT ORDER HERE! Worst customer service ever. I ordered a pizza for carry out, when I went to get it they charged me $5 more than I was expecting and chalked it up to their annoying credit card fee. I got all the way home and realized they gave me the complete wrong order. So, to my dismay I drive all the way back and the employees can't seem to figure out how we have the wrong order. They go through all their orders and find "ours" but it's still not correct and hasn't even been started yet. We tell them forget it we want our money back.. their response was "did you bring the 2 liter?" Are you KIDDING me? So I said fine charge me for it, and she still tried to not give me a full refund on top of that until we kept explaining to her why she owes us more. So we got some of our money back and went to what we know, Vitale's. Worst customer service and no apology- will not be eating here ever. read more
