I will start off by saying that in the end, someone higher in the dealership's management team saw…read moremy initial online review and made things right. However, buying a car should not be this stressful. Sales and finance staff acting in a careless manner, promising one interest rate, dragging out the process until the customer is frustrated, hungry and distracted by the thoughts of just getting out of there. Then rushing the customer through the finance paperwork to help get them wrapped up, so they can be done. BEWARE! This is where they slip in the interest rate that is nearly double what was promised and as a result, higher payments. All done without pointing it out to you. Just "sign here, initial here, here and here...". Later, you find out you're saddled with terms that you never would have agreed to and maybe can't really afford. You call them the next business day (a Monday) and all you get is "Well the paperwork is signed and sent to the bank now. Not sure we can do anything, since it has already been sent in". Well yes, something can be done, they just don't WANT to try. To them, the deal is done and they've moved on to other victims. Why help you? You're the fish that has already been caught and placed in the ice box. Repeated calls asking for somebody to help, only result in promises of a call back that never comes and an email address that doesn't work. Not until I posted a long, highly detailed, one-star review of the dealership on multiple sites, did someone higher in the management team reach out with the promise to try to help. Not because anyone working for them, brought it to their attention! No, this person had no idea, because none of the staff who were contacted had tried. Even then, a whole week goes by before the call comes in that the promised interest rate has been worked out and the situation resolved. I can't imagine having someone working for me who would act in such a callous manner towards customers and risk the reputation of the business. It almost seems as though the dealership makes more money on higher interest rates using the banks they prefer to use. I've received messages from a number of people who had similar experiences, but didn't get the same issue resolution. I can only guess that in some cases, negative online reviews were not left because the customer feels embarrassed for getting taken. My advice for buyers is to walk away. Don't allow staff to leave you sitting for extended periods of time. I suspect that is a tactic they purposefully employ to get you eager to "sign and go". And don't let anyone rush you. If it is close to closing time or you need to grab a meal, then go. They want you to believe that the car you are looking at is being looked at by others, which makes it more desirable. But it is very unlikely that at the end of the day, it'll be sold before the next morning. If they can't hold it for you while you go get a meal, be VERY suspicious. In the end, if you feel you haven't been dealt with honestly and fairly, write a review. List all the facts of the situation and let other customers know what to expect. Maybe you'll get the attention of someone who will help you.

SALES DEPT: From my…read moreexperience, it seems Friendship Ford's business model (at least for used cars) is as follows: 1--price the car low in order to get the customer in the door 2--make sure to lowball the customer's trade-in (they are deeply disappointed if you don't have a trade-in) 3--charge the customer $1,500 for their Pulse brake light and ceramic coating 4--charge the customer an $800 document prep fee 5--make money from the bank on the loan (they are deeply unhappy if you aren't financing the car) Wish I had read the Yelp reviews before I wasted my time here. These reviews are scathing, and they are well deserved.

At our service in the fall, we were told that the brakes on our car needed to be fixed, pads and Roters. It was a very expensive job. We scheduled over Christmas. We felt that we needed to get serviced in Bristol so our Warranty would not be in question. Because of the bad weather and being in the hospital, during January we did not drive the 4 Runner very much that month. But the first time I got in the car since the brakes had been worked on, I noticed a terrible noise. I called the next day and was told by the service department I would need to bring it in. In my opinion I was very worried about getting to them. But they would not offer help. My husband made it there with the vehicle. Our appointment was at 10:30 in the morning. However, the vehicle was not touched for three + hours. My husband had notified me that no one would tell him anything about our service. So I called and asked to speak to a manager. I was not given a manager, but the gentleman I spoke with told me that a "rod" was broken. I can't believe he called a lug a rod. He assured me that it would not take very long to fix and he would take care of it without charge. I called my husband and explained what was going on. This had taken way too long considering we had an appointment That morning! I should also mention that this is the fourth time that we have had an appointment with one of our vehicles that we purchased directly from them Then we could not get waited on for hours. That is no way to keep your customers coming back. As my husband was checking out to leave, he told the service person that he was not happy about how long putting in a lug had taken. Considering that THEY left it out or did not tighten it when they put the tire back on during the last work they did. The girl who was waiting on him said, Oh well, life goes on. With or without. This entire situation was uncalled for. Toyota of Bristol service department you are Not Respectable, Reliable or Considerate! In fact you are just not honest!

There should be a way to filter reviews based on service station or sales because I have never been to their sales department and never purchased a car here, but I think their service department is pretty OK. I needed the transmission fluid changed on my Ford F150 because I thought it might fix a rumble my engine was making. Two well-known service stations said they could not do the job, but Bristol Honda said they would. I had already done some research and they were able to work with me and bring the price down to something I could live with. Most importantly, the problem is fixed For now. And if the rumble comes back, I will likely return to Bristol Honda, and try a few more options to fix it permanently. Based on my experience, I think their mechanics/technicians are very skilled at what they do, and the main reason, I would return to this location. Customer service has also always been very good. I think their customer service and their mechanics Worked well together to communicate Everything I needed to know.

In the end we couldn't figure out if sales person was dishonest or simply didn't know what they were doing. Stupid move on the finance manager's part to say "you know we are busy on Saturdays" when I specifically asked the sales person about taking delivery on Monday to avoid waiting and was told "no problem". Then arriving on time and waiting 45 minutes before saying anything. They couldn't even get right telling me which Credit Bureau account to unfreeze. An apology at the time could have saved the sale. Just a circus! Anyway, we have already bought the same model at the same price from another dealership. We think the large broken window on the front of the Used Car office building speaks volumes about the dealership's attitude. If you shop this dealership, we would suggest taking nothing for granted and be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting! :)
