I had stopped in just to look at cars, to get an idea on what i ultimately wanted to buy. They had been busy that day, but the associate Wesley Baez helped me throughout the entire time i was there just walking and looking, was able to test drive the car i liked and ultimately ended up buying. I was set to pay with a cashiers check, but had to wait a couple of days for the check to be mailed from my home banking institution, and Wesley was more than willing to place a hold on the car for 2 days, while i waited for the check to be overnighted. When i came back in to finalize the sale and do the paperwork, he was more than helpful, despite being beyond busy that day. I cannot recommend this company! The salesman that worked with me was not truthful and honest about the warrantees that came on the vehicle. And then after I fully examined the paperwork and called back to cancel The extra warranties that were sold to me, they ended up deleting more than what I wanted... But it did not change my monthly payment. I could not get out from underneath the extremely high monthly payment. And they have been terrible to work with. The salesman that I had was not honest. And their systems did not allow me to refinance to an appropriate monthly payment. read more

This was the easiest and fastest car buying experience ever. Brian showed us how the lot was laid out which saved us time. We picked a car we wanted to test drive and were on the road in only a few minutes. I didn't have time to buy that day so Brian put the car on hold for me until that weekend. We arrived at 10 am and we drove our new car home by 12 pm. We also had 3 loan offers in less than 5 minutes. They offered to buy our old vehicle but we choose to put money down instead. Bought a 2015 Nissan Armada from Carmax Orlando. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All of my questions were answered. The buying process was smooth and to the point. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want. The car was missing a headset for one video system and a system remote. Barry, my sales associate, assured me they would order both items and have them as soon as possible. This was right on target, they had both items within a week. "No haggle means no haggle" I said but what if your price is not competitive or even fair? or 700.00 to 1500.00 higher than the same model, same year, same wear, but the other one has less mileage and is certified? He said "tough". So I took my tough butt out of there and left. Please do not insult me further with robotic trained saleman making statements that spit out nonsense. No haggle means we are not going to haggle about the amount I am over charging you. No haggle is for them, not you! Do the test... Look up ANY car on carmax and then the same year car with around the same mileage on any other site, dealership, or any other cars for sale site and see if the carmax car is not higher, sometimes quite a bit higher! Every time. Dont get sucked into the hype, just research and compare and see for yourself. Two things I want to clarify: I am not anti Car Max, some of the practices were at one time, refreshing. My entire car buying experience with CarMax was first class. Best all round in my book!

I live right behind this location and all day and night they use the public road to load and unload their trucks full of cars making all sorts of noise. If it's not that, the 18 wheelers are honking all the time to signal their arrival or departure. Even with the windows closed I can't get a good nights rest. When it's not that it's guys yelling or car alarms going off all times of the day and night or their maintenance department conducting some sort of loud test. It's one thing if it's on their property, but they use the public road right behind it for their personal use, and that is just not acceptable. read more

The first time a bought a car from CarMax in Glencoe Illinois it was great it took about an hour no pressure. This time I traded in that car for an other at the CarMax in Orlando FL. Not a good experience. It took about three hours to do the sale because computers were not working. 3 weeks later I have no title or bill of sale just a temporary plate that runs out soon. read more

Don't waste your time! I went to see what offer I could get for my car but first I bought new tires and detailed it like new. The offer was so LOW it was a joke! My car is in the Excellent condition. I believe what they do is take the Rock Bottom lowest blue book Appraisal, then lower that by a $1000. Im going to keep this as simple as I can. The customer service here is terrible. I bought my car here about two years ago. I have called to schedule an appointment with service every day for 5 days. I finally get a hold of someone, to schedule an oil change. Just an oil change!!! I need the service done as soon as possible. The representative that answers tells me their next space isn't until next week. For an oil change? I've been calling all week it does not make any sense. Anyways the rep was kinda rude explaining the hours they work when I was trying to set a time to come in. This place just flat out sucks. Hire new people car max. Buying my car here was a pretty good experience. However, dealing with the service department is an absolute nightmare. They do not care about customer service at all, and are only out to make a commission. When I bought my car only one of the 2 key fobs worked. Since the service department is only open during regular business hours I had to take time off work to go in and get a new key. Once I got there, a pretty rude employee said I had to pay for a new key even though I was only given one operational key...keep in mind the cost is well over $100. In addition, my car stereo needs warranty work and the tech who works on that only works limited hours in the middle of the day...more time I have to take off work. read more

Very dissatisfied with the so called appraisal.($1600 for a 2007 Ford Mustang convertible with 120k miles.) Offered half of the Kelly blue book TRADE IN value($3300). I was trying to talk to someone about trading it in on a used car on the lot(which is priced almost $3,000 over kbb SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE), but not willing to work on value of trade in or price on car. This location (Orlando) does not want business unless they can take advantage of the buyer. Very poor customer service, had to keep asking for assistance, no one but the guy at the door seemed to notice me. I was ready to spend money as long as I felt appreciated and wasn't feeling as prey. Overall, I wouldn't recommend CARMAX because of their "No-Haggle" price scheme, and their rip off "Appraisals". I would appreciate to be contacted by someone in their upper management about my visit. read more

They bought back the truck I purchased there 8 years ago and they gave me a great price. I used the money as a down payment on a newer model, again very clean and near perfect. Bought 5 or so cars in Clearwater then I moved to Orlando and went to the carmax there. Two visits, bought a 2015 BMW. No manual for a 2 year old car. No guidance from sales. Then on my trade in I overnight my title to them and they said it arrived 1 day too late and they would not credit back an $85 charge. NEVER AGAIN. When you leave or send messages (5) they won't call back. They put a big bow on the car when I bought it ! FAKE PHONY THANKS for spending $25,000 with us ! I am a NEVER AGAIN CUSTOMER over $85. I purchased a 2007 Lexus RX350 from Carmax in Orlando, off Semoran blvd and I have to say that the sales person, George M, was awesome. I have purchased over a dozen cars from dealerships new and used and this was the best sales process that I have ever been thru. Price was good, they screwed me a little on the trade in, car was in impeccable condition and I purchased a warranty program as well, the entire process from start to finish was smooth as silk, couldn't be happier, thought I have a customer for life. That's where the good at CarMax ended. To make this brief, the car died, they told us the AC compressor and the belt needed replacing, They had the car for 19 days and when we got it back, within a week the AC started having problems. In a 3 month period, CarMax had our car int he shop for over 31 days and when it was fixed, we picked it up, and driving out of the service bay, the AC went out. They kept the car another 12 days and when we got it back, the dashboard was cracked and damaged in several places, the area around the ignition was gouged and cracked and there were boot prints all over the seats. When we brought this to the service managers attention immediately, he took some pictures and said, let me talk to my other manager and we'll call you on Monday. When I spoke to them on Monday, i was told that they researched this and Lexus using sub-standard material for the dashboards and having the car in the sun for the time it was at their facility is probably what caused it and they would do nothing to fix it. REALLY??? Lexus uses sub-standard material??? I searched the internet and couldn't find a single thing about Lexus using sub-standard material. I called again and and the manager again told me that we didn't do and we're not fixing it. CARMAX DID OVER $4000 OF DAMAGE TO OUR CAR and they deny any culpability at all. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO CARMAX FOR REPAIR, YOU WILL BE SORRY! There are reviews all over the internet that state their service center sucks and I truly believe that they don't know what they are doing. When we got the car back for the second time before the AC went out again, they tried to get me to pay another $250 deductible and I questioned them on how that could be since they warranty the repair for 6m months and after talking to our rep, who knew nothing about how cars work, only knows how to set appts, they finally agreed that we wouldn't have to pay. In my opinion, what the did to me is almost criminal and I WILL NOT EVER TAKE MY CAR TO THEM AGAIN. Hope this helps anyone else who is thinking about going to Carmax. Though I liked George and would have bought another car from him, I can not support a business that will not own up to their mistakes. read more

I am in Orlando and I found an Audi in North Carolina that I wanted to test drive. Since the model I was looking for was difficult to find, I paid the $200 to have it transferred to Orlando. When I went in to test drive it here in Orlando, my salesperson was Navin. He was immediately very welcoming and helpful. When we went for a test drive we immediately got an error message light (related to the suspension). We took it to their Service Dept - hoping for a quick fix... but it was not to be. Since it was not dangerous we went ahead and continued with the test drive. But I told Navin the error made me too nervous to purchase this car - and he was completely supportive and even said that we should look into the possibility of getting a refund of my $200 (which is normally not refundable). I had not even thought of that - but it made sense. So he said he would look into it - and I received the refund to my credit card right then and there - I was thrilled! Overall Carmax provided fantastic customer service to me - and Navin was just a joy to work with. So a big thank you to both Navin and Carmax - I highly recommend them both! read more

Had a poor experience after purchasing a truck 2 weeks ago. I was overcharged for tag and registration as I had a tag to transfer.I have called 5 times in the past 2 weeks and still have not received my refund. I called my saleswoman and have never gotten a call back. No one seems to care when I call the business office and they all have said I would get a refund in 3 business days,4 business days,5 business days ,just to get you off the phone. The floor mats are not anchored down and keep sliding under the gas and brake pedals but no body really cares. I think the customer service after you sign the paperwork is horrible. I would like to let you know that I am highly disappointed in your salesman Tom. I came in on Tuesday and test drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2008 model and told Tom that I wanted to think about it. He said that he left at six. I called at 6:05 and left him a message that we wanted to buy the Jeep, at 6:15 he called back to tell us that he had left for the day and could we come back tomorrow to purchase it so he would not lose his commission. We agreed that we would come back tomorrow as in Yesterday 2/29 he agreed that he would hold the vehicle for us. When we went to head down there last night my sister went into labor and delivered last night. My husband called and explained the situation and he agreed to hold it until tonight 3/1 when my husband gets off at 5. I called because I noticed the Jeep is no longer on your website only to be informed that you guys sold it to someone else. I am very upset because I wanted to buy it Tuesday night and the salesman wanted his commission. I feel that it is very unethical to to sell the vehicle to someone else when we have been speaking to Tom the entire time and he knows I already had financing. I WILL NOT be back to Carmax and plan on writing as many reviews as I can as soon as I send this to you. Tom is a very SHADY person. read more

Having seen gas skyrocket I determined I am in the need for a better ride. I looked at so many cars on so many lots and with reservations checked out the process at Carmax. My father had purchased his last vehicle from them a few years ago and enjoyed the vehicle problem free. Not all It is clearly different from any lot that I have ever been on. Perhaps a slow day, but there were abundant salespeople on the floor who were eager to greet people. I admit, I was waiting for the tactics to begin. I met with our salesman Damien. Established exactly what I was looking for and he pointed out what I had asked about. Of course once I had determined the car I was interested in they took my car for the appraisal. And they had come at high book for my trade, well more than the low balling I had expected. All things fair on to the financing and paperwork. Equally well. In all, I had been in and out in less than two hours (my last purchase took two weeks, with preapproved loan and trade, lowballed trade, and high pressure tactics). I don't do yelp usually, but I thought I would share this to caution others against this place. Nothing like the ads would suggest, definitely not how used car buying should be. I'm in sales myself, so I know all the tricks and tactics, and especially know the last thing you want to do is be pressured in a sales situation, and I do my best in my sales job to make sure I keep that environment just because it's common courtesy. Can't say the same for the sales associates there. You will have a better experience at most regular dealerships. From everything to the typical hand on top handshake, to the creating of a high stakes act now or forever lose out situation this place was full of your typical used car salespeople. That's not even the issue I had with it. The main issue I had with this place is their process on their offer of a used car. They tried to appraise my 2015 camaro SS 6 speed with 72k miles at 13,500. The car has a completely clean title mind you. Which you expect an appraisal to be low from a dealership but that's horrible. That's not the worst part either. The worst part of it I would say is the fact that they came back with a bogus report saying the car had a record of being sold for frame damage. Carfax has the car as guaranteed as being clean title and has no issues with their buyback guarantee, and the car hasn't given me a single issue. I trust carfax a whole lot more than whatever carmax pulls out of their ass. Especially when carfax will buy the car back if their records are incorrect. Do not recommend. As someone who has worked in sales as well as at car dealerships, this place definitely has some of the worst sales practices I've ever come across. Not an environment you want customers to be in, not an environment I would ever work in either. I would also like to say the salesperson I talked to was stubborn and could be rude at times. I thought I was having a great experience purchasing a vehicle from CarMax until we arrived at the financing. I was pre-approved for an auto loan from my bank. Since it was late in the day, I was told by the financing department to sign a loan agreement and I had 3 days to have the payment from my bank delivered to CarMax. So I did. My bank emailed CarMax's financing department directly but apparently CarMax does not check their emails on a regular basis. To make a long story short, the person handling my finance paperwork quit right after my husband talked to him on the phone when he was assured that our loan agreement would be rescinded and if he had any issues he would call us back. We've already made a payment this month to my bank then I get an email from Credit Wise stating that CarMax has posted a loan on my credit. Promptly, my husband and I followed up with CarMax just to be notified that they had no record of payment from my bank (which was confirmed from my bank that it had been sent) AND they could not locate the loan agreement I signed with them. Now I must refinance my vehicle or I will be responsible to make a payment to CarMax that will be due on July 21, 2019. My advice, DON'T SIGN ANY LOAN AGREEMENT ON A TEMPORARY BASIS FROM THESE PEOPLE. I'm very disappointed... read more

However, after I purchased the vehicle, I barely got into the car to test everything, when the manager pretty much told me to leave. I understand it was after hours, but it was the one thing I was looking forward too.
