When I called to see if they had a car that I was looking for, the salesman, Mike Spritz, went on the computer, did a search and found exactly what I wanted. What I loved most was that Mike LISTENED to what I wanted and didn't try to sell me something that I didn't want. When I went down to check out the new car, they evaluated my old car for a trade in. By the time I was done with the test drive, my old car was evaluated and everything was in writing!!! Great overall experience with the sales team at Carmax in Pompano Beach. Joe was my first contact at the store, he listened to make sure he knew what I was looking for and worked hard to identify the right vehicle. We did a test drive on 2 cars, after that he ordered my "dream car' (actually a truck!) to be shipped to Pompano from Miami the next day. I came back to test drive the Toyota Tacoma truck and my contact was Johnny "Alabama" (Joe was out of the office that day - it was a seamless transition). Johnny found the truck, and we test drove it around town. Johnny helped me work out the financing with Carmax at a good rate. The salesmen (Joe and Johnny) were very knowledgeable, personable and honest. Also, I felt that the both gentlemen put my needs first and worked hard to help me find the right vehicle. This place was amazing!! After spending 5 HOURS dealing with other dealerships and one nightmare after another my husband and I decided on our way home after the third fiasco to give it one last try before we ended our search for the day. I was completely put off by my previous experience and was ready to throw in the towel but I'm so happy I didn't! We walked in and spoke to Michael and explained our day and what had happened. He was great! He sat with us and went through all our options on the lot and what could be shipped to their location. Within 40 minutes I had a car picked out to be transferred to our location and approved for a loan. I will never buy another car from anywhere else ever again. Such a great experience after such a terrible day. My husband and I have no regrets and no buyers remorse. I went from crying in the car on to very happy knowing that I was finally getting the car I wanted, at a fair price with a 60 month warranty. Garbage fake ass scammers I financed a car there over a year ago with my dad while I was 18 with "new tires" and apparently up to standards according to carmax. A week in had AC issues it would get hot, my suspension slammed my car on the ground many times, took it for service AC improved a bit and suspension had to go back TWO more times to get it replaced and left it there for almost a week. A couple of months in my battery died, my tires almost had no thread and when I bought they showed a clean report and told my dad everything was good and since they're a big company we believed everything was okay come to find out recently the car has been in 2 accidents with the last 2 owners and that didnt show on their report. Assholes inflated the price of a 2008 honda civic to amost damn near $10,000 and now that vehicle will be worth jack shit they are liars and will try to push anything in anyone's face do NOT buy from them damn company should be closed. read more

I recently bought a car from carmax, My salesman Vin was excellent he was friendly and VERY PATIENT considering I am not the easiest person to find a car for. I bought a Kia drove it for 5 days and didnt like it I really wanted a sporty car and thats not a kia but I thought I would try it. I ended up having the car for a few days past the 5 days because He found me a camaro in fort myers and had it transferred to his lot in pompano beach. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! It was such a wonderful, quick, and easy experience! We traded in our car to get a new family friendly car and the guy, Rob, that helped us was so pleasant and wonderful! They appraised our trade in very fairly and were very informative. The best part of it all is that they are not like usual dealerships where they try to push expensive vehicles on you and try to get as much money from you as possible. You go in with a car in mind and that's the one they show you and if that one doesn't work, they listen to your budget and help you find something else. I had the pleasure of working with Joe R. when looking for a new car. When I first came in, a large group of CarMax employees were standing together, at first it was a bit intimidating to see who was going to pounce, but to surprise they were all very polite and easy to talk to. I was quickly put in touch with Joe. Since I spoke with Joe on the phone just 30 min before coming in, he already had an idea of what I wanted. He brought me to his desk and already had the Jeep I was looking at printed out on his desk with the Vehicle History Report. They make sure you're not spending all day and night with them. They understand how to make the car shopping process quick and easy. While talking about the Jeep, they were able to give me a trade-in quote for my Ford (which they offered more than the KBB value). When I decided to make the purchase, it was more complicated than it needed to be. Lots of back and forth paperwork and painful car title transfer. Took more time than I had anticipated. The only other negative was that prices are firm. No negotiations! (but that's a corporate rule). After I was able to get myself through all the paperwork and purchase, they brought me the Jeep, which they had washed and vacuumed (including adding shinning to the tires/rims, applying "back to black" on the plastic-like portions of the vehicle, and wiping the windows). They even filled the tank! At CarMax, they want you leaving with a car as if it were brand new. While I don't plan on looking for another car any time soon, when I'm ready, I will visit a local CarMax! read more
