These folks are the real deal. Received an ad in the mail offering a second opinion. Perfect timing seeing as I was dealing with an odd noise issue and needed another opinion from a prev mechanic. Yesterday I went in for a diag, even though the shop was full they got my car in pretty quickly and let me know the exact issue, along with a clear video showing the cause of the noise and duplicating the exact sound I've been hearing. They ordered the part and finalized the repair today. My car is running so smooth it's crazy! Had a smile on my face the whole way back home. Beware, they take advantage of young women. My daughter has paid a lot of money on several repairs and none of them were handled properly. On one repair, they replaced spark plugs only to find out later that the spark plugs they put on were used. Their mechanics have given her incorrect information about what was wrong with the car, even though they did diagnostic tests and charged over $100 for the test. So far, none of the repair experiences have gone without problems, in spite of charging her spending several thousand. As a customer, she expects the mechanics to know what they are doing, fix it the first time and not take advantage of her. Needless to day, we will not use them again or recommend them. read more

Family owned and operated business. Just the automotive experience between the people that work the front is about 55-years. They offer Uber rides if you need one. If your car has a major repair and needs to stay for a couple days? They actually have loaner vehicles (if available) to let the customer use. I see some "low" reviews from other people. Take those with a grain of salt. Most repair shops "to include dealerships" will always "upscale" to a customer. That's why the business is there. Most cars on the road today are behind in maintenance. No one ever looks at the maintenance schedule in there vehicles owners. read more

Negligent or unscrupulous? Like other reviewers, I truly wanted to like Carmedix. The front end workers are friendly and communicative. They sometimes provide images of potential equipment issues, which is a helpful practice. Issues I experienced with this shop: +$738.53 estimate to ONLY fix my horn to pass inspection. The faulty clock spring was about $300 at market rate (found it for $40 online). It took literally less than 30 minutes to replace, so I can only conclude the estimate was for $800/hour in labor cost. +Informed me the clockspring was under warranty (meaning it could be free for repair with the manufacturer) only AFTER I refused service. +Double charged me $82.94 for service done last month and have yet to reimburse. +Inflated estimate for a tie rod replacement. Estimate was substantially less at another shop. +Excessive amount of recommended services upon every visit. Given the multitude of negative experiences, I can only describe this shop as predatory. read more

Went in this morning for an oil change and an annual check-up. Gave my keys to the man at the front desk, he told me to come back in an hour, and after grabbing some Taco Bell, my car was as good as new. There is also a cozy waiting spot in the back of the shop with chairs and a TV, so you don't have to move. I am always nervous doing anything that has to do with my car, and the folks at Carmedix got everything done super smoothly. I scheduled an appointment on Monday morning for an oil change and inspection. I got a coupon for an oil change which is why I stopped by in the first place. - They're supposed to call you to confirm your appointment shortly after you scheduled it. After 2 days of waiting I ended up calling them an hour before my appointment to do so. - Other places I've visited take about 30 minutes to perform an oil change and inspection. It took Carmedix almost 2 hours with an appointment. This made me incredibly late for work. - They performed work on my vehicle without my permission. I was charged $40 to replace to tag bulbs, which is something I would have done myself for $5 (changing bulbs isn't difficult). - At check out I was given a list of "issues with my car" which totalled over $400. This is a common method of up-selling in mechanic shops. read more

My power window motor was worn out. They charged me $138 to remove the panel and "test" it. I was never told if it was the motor or switch and they replaced the motor and assembly. I don't understand such a high diagnostic fee. Took more than 6hr to diagnose the problem and get the replacement parts and fix it. Meanwhile trying to upscale me on tires that have at least 10k tread left on it, and diagnosed an axle boot that will give me trouble. I was just there for the window. After picking my car up I see that there is grease and grime in the foot on the driver side. Most places use paper mats to keep this from happening. The guy at the front offered to clean it, but I didn't want to spend more time waiting for something that shouldn't had been an issue. No call or follow up by a manager. I will not be going back to this place. I'm not hard to please, but I was disappointed in the service. read more

I have compelling evidence that Carmedix attempted to deceive me intentionally. When I confronted them and gave them a chance to confess, they refused to admit to the wrongdoing. Here's what happened: Carmedix replaced my car's lower control arms at their recommendation. They provided a 2 year/24k mile warranty. On a return visit less than 2 years and 5,000 miles later, they recommended the EXACT SAME REPAIR again at my own expense. I was suspicious for 2 reasons: 1) this was much to soon for the parts to go bad again, and 2) they wanted to charge me even though the repair was under warranty. After I told them that they had already done the EXACT SAME REPAIR within the warranty period, they "went back and took another look". This time, they came back and told me that the control arms were wearing out prematurely due to bad strut assemblies and sway bar end links. They wanted to charge me another $1,400 to replace these components. Now I was really suspicious, so I declined and went to another trusted shop for a second opinion. As I expected, the other shop told me that all parts looked fine and that Carmedix was just "attempting to make money for no reason". Here is the exact quote from the "second opinion" invoice: "Found lower control arms are near new with no play or wear noted. Front struts are original, however are not leaking are (sic) bouncy. Front sway bar links do not have any play in them. Other shop was attempting to make money for no reason." Here's what I suspect based on the evidence above: 1. Carmedix recommended a lower control arm repair for my car without even looking to see if the repair was needed. 2. When I caught Carmedix in this deceptive behavior, they made up a second lie (about the strut assemblies and sway bar end links) to cover up the first lie. Unless Carmedix can publicly confess to this deception and change their ways, I recommend avoiding them. At a minimum, get a second opinion if they want to replace your lower control arms. read more

Absolute rubbish!! I went in to get the electric motor replaced for the driver side. They tried to up sell me on a set of tires, that had 20k more miles left on them. Charge me a diagnostic fee that my motor needed to be replace, no shit that's why I was there. Came back to pick up my car and the floor of my car was covered with oil and grease from the mechanics shoes. I was very disappointed!!! I highly recommend avoiding this place. I've brought my vehicle to Carmedix a few times over the years and always feel that they are taking great care of my car. They are trustworthy and provide excellent service. They have communicated well to me with any problems they may have found when servicing my vehicle and have been extremely helpful and honest with me about the state of my vehicle. I've had multiple repairs done at this shop and my car comes back feeling new. I appreciate that they provide pictures and an in-depth inspection of the vehicle so that I know the current state of my car. They have reasonable pricing, especially when considering the level of work that they are performing. They're on top of everything and want your car to be in the best condition possible when it leaves their shop. I will always bring my car here and highly recommend you do the same! read more

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. All I can say for my experience with Carmedix is that they were great! Very knowledgeable, friendly with a fair price for fixing my thermostat in my Acadia Denali. They were timely, communicative and I never once felt that they were taking advantage or "mansplaining" for being a woman. I recommend them 100% and will come back if needed. read more

I typically do not do internet reviews; however, this shop's professionalism, empathy, and customer service were exceptional when my daughter had an issue with her gears not shifting and had to take the car over to them. She had to leave for a trip, so they went out of their way to accommodate her, although short-staffed, and also helped avoid a rental charge. Aaron, the person we dealt with, was the ultimate professional. They even sent us the initial diagnosis via text, and throughout the process, I did not feel they were trying to charge us any extra or find any unnecessary issues. I took my car to this place for an oil change and inspection because my regular was booked. I will never be going back. They told me I had 4500$ worth of repairs to my car. I have spent weeks trying to scrape together money to fix it or get a new car. Little to find out I had my regular mechanic that I trust look it over without telling them anything I knew from Carmedix. Turns out there is nothing wrong with my car and they lied! The only thing they found was a loose valve cover. I cannot believe they would do this to people. I will never be going back it was a waste of time and money. read more

My experience was good but relatively short. I took my new used car in for a post purchase inspection. I asked them to change the oil and generally inspect everything for any needed maintenance or signs of trouble. They found the brake pads needed replacing which I suspected already but no other problems. They took care of that for a reasonable price while I waited. I'm confident they did a fine job but I was a little disconcerted that they didn't provide a breakdown of what was inspected and what condition it was currently in. This is the type of thing that I though was standard. I mean even oil change chains provide this standard. In addition, they didn't ask me about my desires for the oil change. What they used was fine but I don't like that they assumed they didn't need to check with me or advise my options before doing it. Finally, I chose to wait while the work was done. The AC seemed to be broken as they were using a portable unit. The waiting room had a refrigerator that I assume was meant to hold drinks for waiting customers but it was empty as was the single serve coffee maker. There was a water cooler though with cups. I don't mean this review to sound so negative. I was very happy with the service and friendliness of the person helping me. And they provided a very useful maintenance schedule for going forward. I WILL return. And will likely upgrade my review based on positive experiences in the future. read more

This place was the worst car repair experience I ever had. I took my BMW 750 to their shop because they advertise that they are a BMW specialist. I took the car to have my valve cover gasket replaced, stop an oil leak, and to check my coolant levels. The first time I got the car back my oil light comes on. The car began to shake and the ride was rough. I was in shock that they would return the car to me in that condition. I brought the car back they keep it another week. They called me everyday to tell me what they were doing. When I finally get the car back, the car begins to cut off. I took it to another BMW shop and found out that they destroyed my wire harness. I ended up replacing the harness and learned that the oil leak issue was never fixed. Don't deal with this place. I have never had to give a repair shop a bad review but this place is the absolute worse!!!!! I have attached picture so you can see some of things they did. read more

I bring my car here often for oil changes and it's usually great. I brought it in for my rotors and brakes to be looked at and I specified I believed it was the front brakes and rotors causing the problem. The tech assessed my vehicle and stated the back rotors and brakes were the problem causing vibration in my steering wheel. I said ok. But I didn't believe so as bmws are all I drive and the most are front braking (front usually wearing more)... so I took to Bmw for a second opinion and after a 360 though inspection of my car, it in fact was my "front rotors /brakes" NOT my back. They sent me photos and information as well to show that there is no way the tech at Carmedix assessed my car correctly as the front rotors and brakes clearly were warped and looked totally different than the back. So I'm all, I enjoy getting oil changes here but I'm not sure about major work as I'm a female and don't want to get token advantage of because I would have replaced the back and had the same vibration and a week later having to come back and do the front which was the actual problem. read more

So I've reviewed Carmedix before, but I just have to come back and review them again. This place is affordable and centrally located, which is makes it convenient if you like fair service close by and reasonably priced maintenance for your car. Jay was SO thorough transparent with me on the repairs my car needed. He not only called me throughout the day to update me on the progress on the car, but he also text messaged me and showed me photos of problem areas so that I could see and comprehend everything. He explained everything clearly and was extremely responsive. I never once just felt like another "customer". I also appreciated that Jay sent over a detailed estimate of the repairs before (with anticipated repairs), during and after we discussed what I selected to have done that day and what I would come back for later. He was never pushy and gave me great advice as to what things were top priority and what things could wait until a later date. Hands down, this is really a trustworthy place and I highly recommend it. read more

I'll start with the positives parts of my experience at this location: The staff was friendly and courteous from the moment I walked through the door. And that is essentially where the positives end because that courteousness was mainly a mask to hide the incompetents within the staff at Carmedix. I brought my vehicle (2013 Dodge Dart) to Carmedix on June 9th. The primary complaint was that my vehicle would not go into gear. After a diagnostic test, the mechanics determined that my vehicle's cable linkage and forks were "obliterated." Having never encountered this issue before I took them at their word. They stated they would need to order the parts from their vendor and, long story short, the vendor would not be able to have the parts to them until July 8. This, I understood. There's a shortage of just about everything nowadays. What I can't grasp is why the communication at Carmedix is so ridiculously terrible. July 8th came and went and I heard nothing. I had to call THEM to find out the vendor could not get the parts out until AUGUST. In addition, Carmedix had been out of loaner vehicles when I first brought in my vehicle. Again, not a huge deal. The issue is that Aaron (a sales associate at this location) promised me a loaner after my July 9th phone call. I had to go back and forth 3 times before being provided an adequate loaner (one of those times Aaron tried to put my in a vehicle absent a driver door handle). Each time I went either nobody was aware I was to receive a loaner, or there wasn't one available. Eventually, I just decided to buy the part myself and take my car home. To make matters worse, once I got my car home, I found out that THEY MISDIAGNOSED MY CAR!!! I learned that neither issue they claimed was the problem was actually the problem. Carmedix wanted to charge me around $1700 for a fabricated issue. I ended up fixing the vehicle myself for around $200 (including the $138 misdiagnosis) and in 2 days (because I had to wait for another part). If you absolutely need to take your vehicle to a body or repair shop make sure it isn't this one. The staff is friendly, yes, but that is all a facade to keep your vehicle at their garage. You can likely find another garage that is much more thorough, more competent, and more genuine than this. read more

I've been there a handful of times after finding them right here on Yelp and I do not regret it one bit. The location is convenient, they've recently upgraded the waiting area so it's even more comfortable than before, and again they really do superior work. I've used Carmedix twice recently and had a great experience both times. My truck needed serious repairs and I was concerned about putting a lot of money into an old vehicle. They did a great job and I'm so happy to have my truck working again. Everyone was very professional and nice to work with. I felt like they did a thorough diagnosis of the problem, explained what needed to be done clearly (and with pictures), gave a good estimate, and delivered on time. They also let me leave with one of their loaner cars both times while the repairs were going on, which made it so much more convenient while I was without my truck. read more

I own a 2003 Cadillac Seville and arrived at Carmedix to request a speed sensor replacement (the output speed sensor on top of the transmission...commonly known as the "vehicle speed sensor or VSS). This procedure involved a $25.00 part and approximately an hour of labor. They refused to honor my request even though I offered to walk next door to NAPA Auto Parts to secure the part. So...I asked for my keys and left. Apparently, I knew too much about cars, since I'm a retired mechanic and at 74 years old, I can no longer work on cars. If you are a senior citizen, beware!!!...they will attempt to convince you to allow them to perform procedures that you have not requested nor need. I spoke and tried to do business with Aaron but he refused to contract with me!! I will be going to Yearby's Automotive which is family owned and operated. read more
