This place is brother and sister owned (soo cool right?) and they've been in business for 40 years. That means they're for SURE doing something right hehe. Have been going here for years! My husband has been going there and bringing me flowers from there all the time! They always have fresh beautiful exotic flowers! Whenever I happen to accompany my husband, Ed and Diane, the owners are always vey helpful. From time to time, Ed has given us a new flower on the house with our purchase. I think that is so nice to do. I have also ordered from them. I once purchased about 10 orchids and ceramic pots for my in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary celebration! They were beautiful! They also have a huge variety of gifts , like jewelry, baby stuff, scarves, candles, cards etc... everything high end....nothing looks cheap. The Carmel Flower Shop did an absolute amazing job at our wedding. I didn't have a solid idea of what I wanted for bouquets and Diane sat down with us to go through photos on pinterest and pick out different aspects I liked of each picture. The final result was beautiful and I couldn't have been happier. For the center pieces, we had a photo of something we wanted and it turned out some of the flowers in it made it out of our price range, but she worked with us to change those out for flowers that were just as beautiful and created the perfect center pieces within our price range. This review is not a reflection of their actual product or customer service. However, what I must say is that they have no regard to pedestrian traffic in front of their store. Their minds are solely on profit. My brother (who lives in Putnam) and I were "walking" there two times in front of the store. He is in a wheelchair. Because of their flower arrangements being all over the sidewalk, we had to "walk" off the sidewalk and on the road in the cold and rain. This happened twice. Are they also leasing the sidewalk? I am going to find the owners/management of Putnam Plaza and file a formal complaint. It is very disrespectful on their part. I was tempted to go inside and complain, but I would get in an argument with them (or worse) and did not need the police to show up.. read more

I was quite disappointed over an order I attempted to make. I usually order via 800-Flowers, this time I thought I would order from a local business again. I had ordered from Carmel Flower about 5 times before. I called about mid afternoon and asked if I could place an order for delivery the same afternoon. I was told sorry but the delivery person is just about to leave. I asked well anytime this evening would be great, she stated no sorry too late, you can order now for delivery tomorrow. We used Carmel Flower Shop for our wedding on August 27th. We worked with Diane, who was so wonderful right from the start. For our consultation meeting, I pretty much showed her a photo of what I wanted the bouquets and centerpieces to look like and she replicated it to the T. She even went above and beyond to make sure that we found the right shade of pink for the roses. I moved to South Carolina in the middle of our wedding planning, so most of our communication was via e-mail after this. She was always quick to reply to all of my questions. On the day of the wedding, she arrived promptly to drop everything off. The bouquets were more beautiful than I could have even imagined; I could not stop staring- they were stunning. All of them were delivered in their own vase with water to ensure they did not wilt. Also, as if that wasn't enough for a 5-start review, since my mom decided not to get a corsage, Diane went ahead and created a small floral arrangement just for her. It was so kind and thoughtful of her to do. My husband has also used CFS to send me roses for the past several years; they have always done a great job and their arrangements last such a long time. This is the nicest flower shop I've ever been in. They have a really big selection of flowers and arrangements, a lot more than the usual carnations and roses. I have bought flowers here that have lasted more than two weeks, so the quality is very good. The staff is friendly and helpful.
