Great Service from Clem! My car wouldn't start one morning last week so I called AAA. Clemens came out and quickly assessed the battery was dead and saw in notes AAA had been out the week prior due to dead battery AAA had installed new in 2014. Clem installed new battery no charge because battery still under 6 yr. Warranty. Clem was Very professional, kind and kwoledgeable. Sometimes batteries just are bad Clem said. My husband backed out of our garage with the rear door of my Lexus SUV up. The door hit the top of the garage and was damaged, but he managed to get the door shut. The next morning after my husband left town, I got ready to drive down to L.A. I packed up the car, got the dogs settled in, and then couldn't get the damaged rear door shut, no matter what I tried. I called Lexus Assist, and they said they'd have to send a tow truck to tow me to the nearest body shop. I was fairly distraught, needing to get back to L.A. and figuring now I'd be stuck in town for days while new parts were ordered and the car was repaired. Then Carmel Towing arrived. The driver, Farris, saw my predicament and offered to take a look at the problem. With a screwdriver, he was able to reposition the latch and solidly shut the rear door so I could safely get on the road and drive down to L.A., where I could get the car repaired at my convenience. So he saved me from tremendous aggravation and possibly several days of delay. In short, Farris saved the day! I hope I don't need to use a towing service again any time soon, but if I do, I'll call Carmel Towing directly. Highly recommended. read more

Terrible experience. Bought an AAA guaranteed battery few years ago. Stopped holding a charge, so AAA sent Carmel Towing out to replace battery, per the guarantee. The totally unprofessional rep started brow-beating me for not using the car enough. Told me I had to drive it 4 days a week. After he advised me to connect the battery to a household socket, and I said that wouldn't work, he said "that's your problem, not ours". He reluctantly said he'd have to order a battery and return next week, and there was fine print requiring regular operation, I told him I'd buy a better battery with the same guarantee without any fine print, which I did. Auto Zone, very professional. I ordered him off my property, contacted Carmel Towing to file complaint, and even calling twice, never heard back. I reported this to AAA, which comped me a year's membership, and the next time I need roadside service, I'll wait extra for a different service company. read more

Mark is our hero who saved the day! Our classic car (1978 Corvette Coupe) wouldn't start as we prepared to leave Carmel after our vacation. AAA said a tow would arrive in 45 minutes, Mark was there in 5! He instantly ascertained what was wrong and not only quickly got our car running, but was knowledgeable about our car's idiosyncrasies and patiently explained how to get it to run at its best. He was friendly and a consummate professional. We are so thankful Mark is the ERS/Battery tech who came to our rescue!! read more

I lost the keys to my car and as a last resorted called AAA to have them unlock the car to see if the keys were in the car by chance. Arlan with Carmel Towing was there in about 5 mins. For which I was very delighted and expressed my gratitude. But it quickly went South as it was clear he was not going to listen to two women. Arlan's trash talk to us was very frustrating and insulting given we were at his mercy to help us get the car unlocked. Arlan was trying to loop the a flat lock, which he described as very hard. For which I agreed. And explained that all he needed to do was slightly tap a button on the door that would unlock all the doors. Arlan continued to give himself praise as the expert since he'd been doing this job x5 years. And asked us if we had ever done this before? For which I started to say I've been driving this car 20 years and have seen it done before, but I was unable to complete my sentence, Arlan was to have the last word. A couple getting in their car next to us watched in disbelief. Watching him disregard us and continuing on with his way, was very frustrating. Out of frustration I said to myself a curse word out loud. Not towards anyone. But Arlan took that as his opportunity as an out and was gone in less than 10 mins. I had to call AAA again, for which Carmel Towing came out again in 50 Mins. And the new guy was able to unlock the car in less than 20 seconds. Not sure if they got paid for two trips, calls or not? But I would not recommend Carmel Towing to anyone. If an owner hires employees that is disrespectful to women or Asians then there is no way I can give this company a good rating. If you keep a trash talking employee that has poor customer service and can't get the door unlocked like his co-worker in less than 20 seconds, then why is this guy still working for you. It's hurting your business rather than growing your business. read more

Great customer service and they showed up fast. I had originally set up to get my car towed, after talking to Andrew. They were able to help me out gain access to my car. I was able to drive off instead of the tow.They did all they could to help and just didn't take the easy way to just make a quick buck. A week after getting my Range Rover back from a body shop, it died in a parking lot. AAA sent Carmel towing out to replace the battery. Their guy was professional and friendly. It turned out the body shop hadn't fastened the ground cable down after the work that they did and Carmel towing successfully trouble shot the problem in short order. I haven't used their mechanic service but if they're anything like the service I got today, I'd give them 5 stars as well. Service like this is hard to come by these days. read more

I had to use roadside assistance because I had a flat tire they originally sent out a company called United towing in Monterey which is by far the most difficult place to work with. They were very unreasonable and the dispatcher is very rude and argued with me about my location instead of relying on the address provided . However this company came out in the first five minutes fixed the flat and the driver was very courteous and polite I highly recommend them if you ever need towing services. read more

Great experience at 11 pm on a Wet/rainy Friday night. My car broke down in Carmel after the theatre. AAA called Carmel Towing. The driver was there in 20 minutes, he was professional and polite, handled my late model BMW with care, and made me feel very comfortable in a very distressing situation. After going around and around with a 24 online towing service - the local contractor they picked called me back to say "he was too busy'", I then picked CT&G because it had good reviews. I am adding my equally good review. They were pleasant on the phone, connected me with the driver immediately, who then arrived in 10 minutes and unlocked my Suburu Outback in 2 minutes, And Kevin, the driver, was also very pleasant. Called for a tow at 8:45. Was promised one by 10. Was called and said they'd send a flatbed for me and another customer by 11. OK. 11 comes and a regular towtruck comes by with the other customer's car, and goes right on by me! I call and they say "oh, well, another truck will be out by 12:30"!! WTF? Meanwhile, I'm sitting here waiting. 12:30 comes and goes. No call. Still waiting. read more

I called AAA for a tow. They contracted Carmel Towing and Garage. company. I spoe with the tow company. The woman told me one to one and one half hours wait time. After 45 minutes she called back and asked if I could wait and be towed the following morning. I didn't lie being bumped, but said yes. She PROMISED me I would be the first tow in the am. The driver called at 8 am. He said he would call me back. I called the tow company again at 10:15 to find out what had happened to him. The same woman told me he had another call to do first. I was reminded her that she had told me I was to be the first tow of the day. She got very angry and tried to tell me they got busy. Meanwhile, I am still waiting. I have taken off work to wait for this tow. To this point, I have missed 3 hours of work. Simply bad business. If they couldn't do the tow, they should have declined and let AAA contract another company. I feel lke I have been treated like a second class customer. So if you plan on using this company, get ready to get jerked around. read more
