    Beautiful room!
    Audrey L.

Thanks to my brother, I had the opportunity to spend this past weekend at Carmel Valley Ranch. What a lovely property! My brother had quite a few Hyatt points, and redeemed them for a room so I could tag along on his weekend trip. Carmel Valley Ranch is a Hyatt property located in the Carmel Valley. I had never been to this part of Carmel before; I had only been to Carmel-by-the Sea (which is by the beautiful waters of the Central Coast). Upon driving in, we saw beautiful fields of lavender, vineyards, etc. This is a gated property; when you drive in, someone greets you & you let them know you have a room. We drove to the lodge to check in and was immediately warmed greeted by their valet staff. The property is rather spread out though. You really do need a car to get from say, your hotel room / suite / villa at the swimming pool. There are several pools here; there is a kid-friendly pool, an infinity pool for adults only, and a mixed area pool. I did not swim during my stay here but the kids (niece & nephew) did. Lots of families here this past weekend. Also couples with young kids. there was also a wedding on Saturday night; and on Sunday I believe another one (I saw a beautiful bride walking around!). We stayed for 2 nights. For me the top 3 highlights were: 1. Pickleball -I played pickleball for the first time! Love that they have several pickleball courts next to the tennis courts. You can play for free (I believe the 1st hour is complimentary). I played for about 30 minutes with my dad, and they also had paddles / balls for us to borrow. Fun! 2. Lavender fields -The lavenders fields were so pretty! We walked by in the morning and the smell of fresh lavenders was sooooo lovely! Then in the room they had the lavender olive oil soap for us to use ** and I took one home with me as a souvenir. -3. Alpacas -I saw alpacas over by the Huff 'n Puff trail! Such cute animals!!! I do feel like the housekeeping could've been better. My dad had to call the front office since our room was not "refreshed" by 4 pm. Also, the showerhead in the room was crooked and couldn't be adjusted. Overall though, I had a very nice and relaxing stay and am happy I had the opportunity to do that.

Our stay at Carmel Valley Ranch was epic! It always is. My boyfriend and I were there for my birthday. Unbeknownst to me, he called them in advance to see if they could have deviled eggs (my favorite appetizer) waiting for me when we arrived. It was such a sweet and thoughtful surprise and so accommodating of the staff to do that for us. I accidentally made our dinner reservations for the wrong night. Mia, the hostess at Valley restaurant was so kind to move our reservations and to accommodate the 7:15 PM time that we were hoping for. The dinner was epic. Luis our waiter was just the sweetest-great personality and even sang when delivering my birthday dessert. We also had a really nice conversation with Jason, the director of rooms that made us feel so welcome and was the icing on the cake of a perfect stay. Thank you Carmel Valley Ranch & staff. We can't wait to be back?

The place has a cool, agricultural vibe. It is peaceful there. They have many amenities, which other larger places do not.

Great hotel. It was very clean up until we found ants in the living room and bathroom on our last night, but the hotel was very quick to come and resolve the issue. It's a very secluded hotel and the rooms are spaced out which is great for relaxing and quiet. Super pet friendly. But it is a steep price to stay here totally worth it

If heaven was a place on earth, Carmel Valley Ranch would be in the top 10 locations. Nestled in the beautiful hills of Carmel Valley is a gorgeous 5 star resort filled with the natural beauty of California. We hosted our offsite here for 4 glorious days and it was work yet not work! The amazing friendly staff, beautifully well kept rooms, activities, and food were all 5 stars. They have an adults only pool area that offers poolside dining and boasts a large infinity hot tub overlooking the valley. The evenings include hanging out by the various public fire pits and roasting marshmallows. For the day time, they offer activities that cater to various tastes such as honey tasting from their local bee hives, guided tours of their mini farm which includes a vegetable garden and farm animals. We also enjoyed their catering and their menu offers many choices for various dietary restrictions. Everything was beautifully presented , food was so fresh and delicious, we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Definitely will keep this place on our lists of top places for vacation and summits.

I really could not have asked for a better experience than our visit at Carmel Valley Ranch. The staff at check-in were exceptionally kind and took the time to explain all of the free activities and amenities that were included in our stay. My friend and I travelled here from Florida for my birthday and the staff ordered us a bottle of wine and a cheese board to our suite which were both incredible. The property is immaculately kept with lush golf courses, greenery, pools, gardens and even the enclosures for the animals and the bees. We did a complimentary yoga class, enjoyed s'mores around the fire pit, took a late night soak in the 24 hour hot tub and even went to visit the goats and farm animals. The rooms were so well laid out, beautiful and more than spacious enough. A fireplace in each room, a huge wrap around deck and a fantastic bathroom for 2 girls to sprawl out our makeup. I really cannot express enough how much I enjoyed our stay and how memorable of an experience it was staying here. I hope to visit again one day.

Delicious charred crispy greens over Caesar salad with sourdough croutons Nice ribeye with red wine sauce over mashed potatoes and broccolini (didn't love the steamed broccolini) Ribeye was very fatty but tasty. Would have liked it more trimmed Kids steak was nice and came with fresh cut fries Beautiful lodge and nice views on a sunny July evening

Ask the Community - Carmel Valley Ranch

Do they allow service dogs inside the restaurant? Do they serve outside breakfast/lunch?

The restaurant serves a patio next to the pool deck that is covered. Not sure about service dogs actually within the restaurant.

Are the grounds easily accessible for a senior dog with mobility issues?

    Not really

Are the pools heated and open year round?

Any reviews/opinions on Weddings at CVR location? Considering having a wedding here. Food? Service?

Amazing location, the food is incredible (eaten at their restaurant many times) service is great especially working with the managers. The only thing is that it won't be cheap... but worth the price in quality!!

They charge $25 per person, unlimited balls. A little pricey compared to the other driving ranges around but worth the try since we were in the area. The pro shop looked well stocked with golf clothes, footwear, accessories. I'm sure there were golf clubs (I didn't really look, but I'm pretty sure I saw some bags). Lastly, they have strict dress code- both at the course and at the range- no denim, no t-shirt's, no sweats. Didn't know this prior to coming here.

Note: PRIVATE CLUB…read more This is, no questions asked, my favorite golf course of all time. It's not simply for the course, but for the other amenities. While I'm not a member here, I'm lucky enough to have friends who are. You must own a home or lot here in order to join the country club, which makes it that much harder to become a member. From the moment you drive up to the clubhouse, it's like magic. There are a team of people to take your clubs, take your car and get you anything you want. Upon arrival, I jokingly responded to the standard "Is there anything I can get you?" with a request for a double mocha and some scones. Five minutes later while walking up to the driving range, a young man showed up with, you guessed it, a double mocha and two freshly baked scones. The course will eat you alive, period. It's a whopping 143 slope from the back tees. The course is a little quirky, similar to Tehama, simply because it was cut into the hills of a rancho. However, it is much more straightforward than Tehama and despite the difficulty, a much more enjoyable trek. The 18th hole has one of the most IN-SANE forced carries I've ever seen in my life. While we were playing the Gold tees, you need to at least walk up to the Black tees to see the almost incomprehensible drive needed to make the fairway. Needless to say, I ended up taking a drop as my drive failed to clear the huge canyon. Beg, borrow or steal to play this course at least once in your life. I can't begin to say how fortunate I feel to have played here, and I'm looking forward to coming back. During an entire 18-hole round, we saw one other golfer. Not another foursome, just one lone golfer. We stopped for lunch at the 12th hole for 30 minutes, and no one came up behind us. Have drinks on the patio after your round and enjoy the beautiful surroundings to cap off an incredible experience before driving back home to reality.

I advise everyone to avoid Leguna Seca Golf Ranch as a venue for your wedding…read more My son and daughter-in-law got married there this past Saturday (7/19/2025) and while the location made for a beautiful backdrop to the ceremony and photos, so much of their contract was not honored that it made things very stressful. We were supposed to have the patio (where the ceremony took place) and the room adjacent to it until a minimum of 3:30pm. We were also contracted to have two bartenders dedicated to our event, the use of their speaker system, a coordinator to help keep the ceremony on schedule, bridal photos on the golf course, and a slew of other things promised but never delivered. Instead, after the ceremony (about 1:00 or 1:30), Leguna Seca personnel rudely started telling the bride, groom, wedding party, and all guests that they had another event that day (which turned out to be untrue) so we were to clean everything up and leave immediately. It was a mad scramble to gather all of our stuff before Leguna Seca staff tossed it in the garbage and locked us out of the room (which they tried to do before we were done). As a result, my kids were not able to gather with their friends and family after pictures were done so we did not get to toast the bride and groom, make our speeches, watch them do their first dance, etc. This was extremely upsetting and robbed my kids of some very special memories of their special day. Shame on Leguna Seca for not living up to their end of the contract but feeling free to take many thousands of dollars from us for the venue fee, golf fees on Friday, and large alcohol tabs (Friday while playing golf and during the rehearsal plus Saturday during the wedding). To make matters worse, on wedding day we had to share the main bar and one bartender (the only kind and considerate staff member we encountered) with golfers which made the line to get a drink out of control. To say I am a mad Mom because of what this venue did to my kids special day would be a gross understatement. Fortunately, my kids are resilient and awesome and chose to focus on the positive aspects of the day instead of Leguna Seca's unprofessional actions.

He has 0 customer service skills and should not be customer facing. He had minimal eye contact, cold demeanor as if we were bothering him, mumbling, and just overall unpleasant. He had the demeanor of a bro cashier at a GNC. There was a guy next to him which I assume was IT or something since he was messing with something at the front. There was a woman who brought us a welcome glass of champagne, and Angel - who gave us a brief tour and brought our luggage to the room. Angel and the woman were nice. Champagne was good, however I wish they offered non alcoholic options like a juice or sparking cider. Throughout our stay, we encountered many staff on the property in passing - not a single smile from any of them. Even the housekeeping staff at a BestWestern are nicer than the staff here. - Room: gorgeous but small. Booking a room for 2 does not just mean having a big enough bed, but actually room for 2 humans to move around. There is not enough room to lay your luggage out anywhere, and the bathroom was narrow. I would've liked to have a towel bar by the sink instead of having a silly rock be what holds the towel up. The room is aesthetically stunning and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the ambient lighting options and motion activated under-lighting. I liked that we had a balcony. I enjoyed the soaps / lotions, as well all the nespresso in the room. Air conditioning worked well. Room was very clean. - Parking: parking was easy in the day. We lucked out at night but guests arriving after 8pm had nowhere to park, which we witnessed first hand. We saw a guest told the staff "the lot is full", and the staff said "just take the EV spot". What about your guests with EVs who need to charge their cars for the night? On another day, a large car was parked in the entrance into the hotel (not the street) and stayed there for 15 min which blocked entry for everyone else - i wish the staff came out to inform the guest that they couldn't leave their car the. The main lot is very tight with slim spots and awkward parking angles, but the back lot was good . While this wasn't an issue for me, I can imagine coming off of a long flight, finally getting to the hotel at night, and being frustrated at the lack of available parking. - Breakfast: this is the main reason we wanted to stay here. The breakfast itself is good, not great. The French toast, juice, chia pudding and eggs are best things - everything else is okay as I found some things to be stale such as the waffles and muffins. I did enjoy how the food is displayed, and there lots of variety. Staff is constantly refilling items so you never have to worry about things running out, regardless of when you arrive for breakfast. Breakfast is much later than it is at other hotels, and with a small window (8-10am), which can be an issue if you are planning to eat early prior to a hike. 2 staff stay in the area however they just stare at you from the corner of the room. No smile, no good morning. The first day, I felt like we were being stared at as if we were freeloaders sneaking in for free breakfast. It was very uncomfortable. Not sure if they were staring because we're younger than a majority of the other guests but there really is no excuse. I think they should do a wrist band system or something if they insist on eyeing people. Property- they have a cafe by the breakfast area where you can order hand crafted pizza. We didn't do this but it smelled great. The location is convenient with lots of restaurants within walking distance . As a hotel guest, you get a discount at the Foray restaurant, which is closed mondays and Tuesdays Overall: Beautiful, but I don't think I'd stay again. For the price point and all the amenities, I expected to be in love with this hotel. At other hotels with this price point, I'm usually like "I don't want leave!", but not here. It wasn't a bad stay, but the experience didn't match the price point. I hope they get better staff or else I could see this hotel failing in the future.
