In short, the customer service was terrible. I was excited to try this place but it was a disappointment to put plainly. I received my order and upon eating I discovered a hair in my food which I bought to the waitress' attention. She then asked if it was my hair. The hair was a long black strand of hair and I have dreads. She then stated that no one in the restaurant has hair like that. I asked to speak to a manager and she proceeded to get him. When he arrived he told me that the hair was a result of being in the outside venue and everyone in the kitchen has their hair covered and there was nothing he could do. I then told him he could take the plate because I was not going to continue eating my food with a hair in it. After taking my plate, he tells the waitress to put her hair up as he walks out with my plate. When I asked for the bill, they stated that they took half off because I didn't discover the hair in my food until I was half way done with my food. Absolutely disgusting. As a manager you should offer an alternative, ask if I wanted a new plate or something. I didn't even receive an apology for the inconvenience. If you prefer hair in your food, this is the place for you, if not, seek elsewhere. read more

The food is great! But one thing that I can not get over is how rude the host was. She was extremely unprofessional and spoke to me and another party like as if we were getting our services for free. I was there Saturday night. She was trying to force us out of the table we were having dinner in because the table was bothering her since we were sitting right next to her. This bar is the best bar/restaurant in North Brooklyn. I went last night with a friend and the service, food and hospitality was amazing. The manager was very polite, greeted guest, smiled and made sure all guest were comfortable and happy. I came here for a birthday dinner with approximately 25 people. I don't know what was more disappointing-the service or the food. The food was mediocre and they kept getting our orders wrong. We asked for medium well meat and it came out bleeding, which is obviously not medium well. We asked for yuca fries and they brought us regular fries. The list goes on. Finally, the server clearly felt bad so she offered us shots on the house. We requested Patron shots and she agreed. When I go to see her getting them from the bar, the bartender is pouring house tequila shots. She comes back to our table and I ask her if they are Patrón shots and she says she doesn't know. This new spot in Williamsburg is AMAZING! First, let's talk decor, the decorations are stunning! I love the wall of different colored bottles of country club soda and the beautifully designed masks that adorn the walls! Service was excellent as well, I was quickly greeted and my waitress was sure to check in throughout the meal and keep my cup filled! Which brings me to food and drinks! I ordered the shrimp mofonfo and it was so unbelievably delicious. I made sure to sample my friends orders as well! One friends had the steak with mashed potatoes and as a very picky steak eater I can tell you this steak was great, so amazingly tender, not fatty and rough like many other places. I also had a chance to try the shrimp tacos and chicken Parm that other friends ordered, everything was delicious! The drinks are STRONG! I say that in the best way possible, they are definitely not watered down. The mules were my go to but Carneval has their own custom cocktails with the country Club sodas and those were delicious as well. Because we were a large group; they woke us everyone MUST have their steak cooked the same way. We couldn't say if we wanted medium, well done etc. Then, they had a child in there (couldn't be more than 3 years old) while everyone is spooking hookah and drinking. The security guard has homophobia! This is the 2nd time they stared at our gay friends and did everything in their power to make them uncomfortable and kick them out. When we asked to speak to the owner, they said "he's here watching the game, not cause he's working". Excuse me? Spent over $1k and we can't speak to management!? Food was horrible. No flavor! I went to a birthday dinner here and it ended up being very fun. The food was fantastic , the drinks are pretty pricey so i probably would only go here for special occasions. We got the hookah too (20 bucks I believe) so that was fun. BIG downside though was that the music was deafeningly loud. Like loud loud loud- at like 7 pm when there was no dance floor, just tables for eating. Couldn't hear anyone talk, which is annoying when you are at dinner just sitting, talking and eating. It wasn't a live band or anything, just a DJ. So anyway those were the pros and cons.
