I came out on a Friday evening to enjoy the start of my weekend at The Steel Mill in Bushwick, and I had a great experience. The bartenders provided excellent hospitality and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was amazing. We ordered the teriyaki wings and chicken nachos, and both were full of flavor. Even with the sauce, the wings stayed crispy and crunchy, which made them even better. The drinks were also really good -- definitely not weak. You could actually taste the liquor, and everything was made well. On top of that, the place was clean and had a great vibe. Naj and I went to The Steel Mill to chill and chat for a little. It was a nice spot on Bushwick Ave. in Brooklyn NY. The restaurant had an unusual decor looking like steel hence the name The Steel Mill. The bartender was so cute and friendly. She is from Ukraine. She was quick with getting our drinks which was Margarita from the draft. It was so refreshing. The meal was just what we needed to fill us up. Massively disappointing. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it tasted like microwave Tyson chicken. Think Dino Nuggets, but on a sandwich. My partner is allergic to tomatoes and got a quesadilla, they said they could make it without them. When it came out there were tomatoes all over it. When we had to send it back they just picked off the visible ones (not even all of them) and gave it back claiming they remade it. Lazy and literally endangering my partner's life. read more

My friends and I were walking back home and wanted to stop by and grab some Latin food on the way so we came across this place. Immediately I was pulled in because it's such a cute space ! They ended up ordering 3 pupusas and I ordered "chicharron de cerdo" (pork rinds) with some scrambled eggs with tomatoes, bell peppers and onions, some beans and sweet plantains. This should've never taken an hour to make. We got there at 4:30 and left at 5:47... my friends food should've taken at most 15-20 but then when theirs did come out we had to wait an additional 25 for mine to come out. I was willing to ignore this but people came afterwards and left before us. We weren't even offered anything to compensate our time. To top it all off when I got home and checked my food I saw that the "chicharron" was actually pork chunks instead and very hard to bite. I only got 3 pieces..... 3 pieces took an hour to make? Don't get me started on the lack of flavor this food had. Such a disappointment, wish I never spent my money here and I never will again. I've walked by this establishment multiple times and finally decided to give it a try. My friend and I went on a Saturday around 4pm. The bartender was very nice, she recommended a drink which was delicious but we also ordered appetizers which were disappointing. We ordered a quesadilla, one taco, a shrimp skewer and wings. The only item that was flavorful were the wings and it was because of the barbecue sauce. The rest of the food was very bland, little to no flavor. This is a place to get food, and drinks. Drinks are made strong! It's more of a fusion place than you may expect. Chinese take out chicken wings, fries with cotija cheese, tacos. My friend enjoyed the quesadilla and I enjoyed the fish and shrimp tacos. I really like how they did the fish taco! The drink I ordered was not a drink I liked, but that's on me for ordering a coconut liquor drink ( I just didn't touch it because it tasted like high school). The staff are friendly but few, so you may need to go to the bar to ask for the check. The bathroom was ok, but the wall under the hand dryer was so gross it made me kinda stare in horror. Staff is very nice and they have a great happy hour. However, I didn't find the food menu particularly exciting, which I was surprised about given I love Mexican food. I got the chicken tinga over rice and it had very little flavor and was not worth the $15. There's way better food in the area, so I would only recommend this place if you want a nice happy hour deal (I had 4 drinks for $28). read more

I just wanted to get a drink with my friend and there was no tables available but the waiter made sure he helped me. He didn't leave us waiting, he told us to hang by until something was available. He gave us menus to look at while waited and 5 mins later there was a table available for us. We ended up getting a seat and we ordered drinks that he recommended. We had such a great time. Went here yesterday to try it out and was terribly disappointed. It was a Tuesday however the weather was nice. Service was horribly slow. 1 bartender who is also the waiter and server. Happy hour was I want to say from 4-7 however the cocktails were disgusting even one cocktail ordered that wasn't on the happy hour list was horrid. The bushwick punch or whatever is called has wine as a float, disgusting, the Santa Rosa drink for happy hour taste like licorice, the periwinkle also happy hour was good but tastes like kool aide with sprite. Even down to the margarita it was watered down and there were not any notes of tequila in there. The garnish of the drinks are burnt fruits that don't do the drinks any justice. The Mac and cheese bites disgusting I bit into them and it was watery. The fries were pretty good thick cut with some sprinkle of cheese chunks but not bad. The quesadilla comes out as 1 tortilla folded in 1/2 it was just weird. Also the food took forever to come out 45-50 minute wait. All and all I will not be returning hopefully this spot can hire more staff and change the drinks. 2 stars are generous but it's in a cool area and the fries were just okay read more
