Today was my first time at Carniceria Latina. The selection of spices and fresh chili was incredible! I quickly found whole guajilla and pasilla pods and they were fresh (very pliable). I dusted off my rusty Spanish to order a dozen red tamales, and picked up some very reasonably priced chicharrones for my sister. The place is pretty tightly stocked but the goods were wide-ranging. The service was good and the staff was quickly able to let me know what they had and didn't have. The signage in the refrigerator would be improved to better identify the salsas and other sauces and their prices. read more

I have been to this pace a few times. They have had everything I have needed when shopping for Mexican food products. The staff there is really nice and helpful. They let you taste the cheeses so you can decide which one/s you want. I think it's a little bit pricier than I'd like BUT it's the closest to me without having to drive to Rancho Liboro. Went in and had a couple tacos and did some shopping at the butcher counter. The prices are reasonable and it is the old fashioned butcher shop. Not packaged under plastic film. I'm Asian but grew up in Southern Cali (don't hate), so I have lived in neighborhoods where the carne asada couldn't be beat. I brought 3 lbs of carne asada from this place to a small party and it was the very first thing gone, and not without numerous compliments. So. Friggin'. Tasty. They package the fresh meat with marinade upon order in a plastic bag with a few citrus slices. I grilled it within 3 hours of buying it and it was marinated perfectly and tender to boot. My Spanish is horrible. I tried to speak for the sake courtesy, but English-only speakers should not be shy or intimidated about coming here, they cater to all cultures. I love this carniceria! Great location, lots of parking and I never wait super long to check out. If you're making fajitas, I definitely recommend getting their marinated skirt steak and cooking that up! I also love the house made salsas. I can only rate certain things: the marinated carne asada, the avocados, peppers, and customer service. The meat has been fresh and delicious both times I've been to this location and the marinade is the best part and it's free!!! The guy at the meat counter is cheerful and funny so it's nice walking in and feeling welcomed. Peppers and avocados were great. Friendly, easy check out. I do think there's bigger places with more or cheaper products but this is close and good so I'm with it. read more

$4.69/lb for honeycomb tripe! Ridiculous! The tripe comes frozen which messes with the texture in menudo for sure. It was precut which saves you time but not worth the price. Who knows how old it is. The big box stores at least sell fresh tripe and at half the price. They didn't even have beef trotters for the menudo. Really disappointed. Will not return. Store was cramped and busy. My mom ordered catering for an event which consisted of beans, rice, barbacoa and salsas. The service was good as well as the food with the exception that everyone who attended the event got terrible food poisoning. The beans did smell a bit strange but we didn't think anything of them until later that night when everyone whom had attended was feeling ill. Good place to get last minute errands but I don't think i will be going back anytime soon due to the unpleasant illness me and my family had to undergo. read more
