The carnitas are amazing! I was told about this place by my coworker and the first time I went in I was greeted by the owner/chef and his wife and they offered me a VERY LARGE sample since I had never been. The salsas were all delicious and very fresh (highly recommend the pineapple one)! The rice and beans were also delicious. I got a couple pounds to take home along with tortillas so we could have a couple days in a row but even getting the order of tacos are FULL OF MEAT! You will not be disappointed. THESE TACOS ARE AMAZING! The pork tacos where divine with cilantro and onions- and although the taco doesn't have many ingredients it's such a rich combination of soft juicy meat, fresh crunchy onions, and all wrapped in a soft delicious corn tortilla. This place is amazing I can't recommend it enough the people were so hospitable and they had a wide selection of grocery's. Out of love, I think a little background music would add wonders to the ambient because it was quiet when I came in, but this small piece of criticism doesn't remove any feelings I have to this place. I went there today and was upset that how busy they are I was over charged... I paid $58 for 2 pounds carnitas, half gallon menudo, 3 packs tortillas, 1 pop, 1 salsa .. the menudo pieces were so big I had to cut them up.. $3.00 for a 16 oz pop, $5.00 for 3 packs of tortillas, and $6.00 for a salsa... the carnitas are supposed to be $10 a pound and I was charged $22 ... they are super delicious but I can't say the same for the menudo... I didn't even get chopped onion or cilantro... for that price... I don't think I would go back again. read more

I recently catered 20lbs of carnitas as a side dish for a graduation party and everyone loved them. Great taste guaranteed and the employees are very welcoming and friendly. I been going to a store in West Chicago called La central but there carnitas are dry but the flavor is okay. My buddy recommended me to try carnitas chepa and these carnitas are amazing. There soft and full of flavor estilo Michoacán. There's a line of people ordering but it worth the wait. They ha e nopales and salsas but not chicharron. They give you a free sample they do not have a place no more to eat. I was referred to this place by a friend and decided to check it out. It is located on Roosevelt Rd. between Winfield and W. Chicago. If you blink, you'll miss it. Fortunately for me, I found it and boy it did not disappoint. When I arrived at 8am there was already a line. This is a good indication of what's about to go down! The store owners is run by a family and they were super friendly. I asked about their Carnitas and was told it's an old family recipe and they sell about 1500 lbs. a week. Oh yah baby!!!! I told them it's my 1st visit and they gladly gave me a sample. I used their homemade sauce to taste and I simply do not have enough adjectives to describe how flavorful, moist and delicious this dish is. I was all over it like a cheap suit. I walked out with 3 lbs. along with their house made green and spicy pineapple sauces. I now cannot wait for dinner and will pair this dish up with some Spanish rice and veggies.
