The best chilaquiles I've ever had. With tender birria, scrambled eggs, and extra queso fresco. Genuinely this is exactly what I crave when I want chilaquiles. I grew up eating chilaquiles weekly as a kid and yeah these are legit. Service was good and informative, she let me sample the salsa before I ordered. Ambiance was fine, it was on the street so it wasn't really ambient, I took it to-go. But in terms of food, it was amazing. The red salsa is spicy, like I said the flavor was good but I wish there was a crunch the chips were soggy. They give you big portions for sure. You can split a burrito or the plate. Overall the food was okay but felt like the portion is the wow factor. Simply Amazing! Large portions at a fair price. The cashier was friendly, spoke english and spanish and knew the menu and how the food is prepared. Although it is a food truck, i wish they had someone to sit and eat or at least wait. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Got the chance to try their chilaquiles burrito with their Roja and it was amazing! Love their carnitas but they ran out. Tried asada. It's super messy but worth every bite. The portion is a bit smaller than the platter but so is the price. Highly recommend. read more

This place was so good! It was on leffingwell and Meyer parked by the water overpass, so the address is a little off but they picked up qhen I called and guided us there. Let me tell you, the first time trying Carnitas La Chingona was so BOMB! The green chilaquiles is a good chili but if you love spicy then the red is for you. You can get half and half salsa. I usually get the chilaquiles plate with scrambled or over hard egg and pollo. It includes sour cream, beans and cheese. The service is amazing, even when they are busy they try their best serving your food fast and efficient. The atmosphere is beyond amazing, sweet, kind, respectful souls. A few minutes from my house, there exists a Stater Bros grocery store with plenty of vendors set up outside of the parking lot along the sidewalk. The vendors shift out throughout the day and week, but there's always a solid selection. The vendors range from tacos, ceviches/aguachiles, tlayudas, crepes, donuts, fruit cups, drinks, candy, et al. Carnitas La Chingona takes the 8AM - 2PM shift everyday except Mondays and Tuesdays. They specialize in fresh carnitas and chilaquiles. They'll even shove chilaquiles, mixed carnitas and eggs into a burrito if you need a handheld. For about $16, you get a 6 lb box laden with a giant layer of chilaquiles (red, green or both), beans, 2 kinds of cheese, crema, 4 eggs (cooked your way), and carnitas (I prefer the mixed carnitas). No one is going to be hungry after this meal. In fact, I'm pretty sure this can be split 5-6 ways and still be plenty of food for a group. It's pretty delicious and filling. Unfortunately, the hours can be very unreliable. They're often closed when they're supposed to be open, which makes it hard to plan a visit. For a first timer this was Awesome food & great service. Ive been to alot of places that want to claim the best chilaquiles but are nothing more that just been overrated/overpriced even for the hot sauce, like the spots like Taquearte California in Pico rivera or Pops cafe in Downey that charge you an arm or a leg for small portion and don't live up to the hype. I think this spot and many like it popping up on street corners are setting the standard for true homemade cooked Mexican food as we call comida cacique y del rancho etc. They don't cut corners and make everything fresh when you are ready to order. Reminded me of my grandmothers cooking and the food back in Mexico. I will definitely be back. My new spot to come instead of making the long trip all the way to Hawthorne to Mr Chilaquiles for over priced food where they are stingy with the portions and toppings.
