Came here with my wife for our 2 year wedding anniversary. We've been wanting to try the food here. I mean, we drive by tons of times, haha. According to the server, they're going for a 1930s speak easy feel. You can feel that vibe; there's few lights and all the curtains are closed. It's dark! I had a cherry old fashioned and a butterfly martini. The old fashioned was good. The martini was very flowery tasting. Food wise, I had the 11oz colossal filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly. Be careful of the desserts, the cake slices are huge. We ended up sharing one. The interior of this place is not what one would expect when seeing it from the outside. It's at a corner spot of a strip mall so parking is not a problem. I made reservations for a Saturday night and we were seated at a booth near the entrance. The service is friendly but not very attentive. For this visit, I've tried: FIRECRACKER SHRIMP- delicious BAKED OYSTERS (ROCKEFELLER) - they were ok CARBONARA ROME- this was good BEEF WELLINGTON- their Saturday special and it was very well prepared. I liked the QUEEN'S RUBY MARTINI cocktail, it had the perfect sweetness to it. My friends were also satisfied with their choice of cocktails as well. Like what I've said, the service was not attentive and our main entrees took a while to be served. We followed up our food with our server twice (after trying to find her) but she just kept saying "they should arrive shortly". I will come back to try other dishes. We came on a weeknight to celebrate our anniversary, and while our waiter was friendly, service was a bit slow throughout - I had to flag someone down for utensils after our order arrived. The staff were deep in conversation around the bar and not really paying attention or checking in on us for 5-10 minutes after our plates were dropped. We had dinner later in the evening on Friday, however we feel staff should not be cleaning the place an hour before close. We felt rushed to finish our meals and as staff was cleaning, they were loud and swearing which took away from the experience. It started off with a shrimp salad appetizer that was so yummy, served up in a martini glass. It was followed up with a relish tray that had a lot of everything. Egg salad. Potato salad. Pickled beets. Spreadable beer cheese and toast sticks. Pickles. Carrots and celery, and being close to Christmas sugared cranberries. Everything was so yummy !!! Onto the entrees. I got the beef Wellington. (Be sure to ask for this right away or when you make your reservation reserve one) that was the best I have ever had. It was perfectly medium rare and the puff pastry was crispy. The gravy was very rich and the mashed potatoes were thick and delicious. My husband had roast chicken. It was half a bird with those delicious potatoes. The last course of the meal is a dessert and he choose Key Lime Pie. It was so good and obviously home made. The crust was epic !!! A bottle of red blend and a "supper club smash" that is an epic presentation itself tableside it was a fabulous meal. For all this it was 213 before tax. I have paid way more and left hungry. Tried Carnivore & The Queen for my husband's birthday and we were very impressed! From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but inside it is beautiful. They have specials every night, Thursday night was prime rib. There was also live jazz music that complemented the ambiance. We were right next to the musicians and we were able to enjoy the music but also have a conversation without raising our voices. We tried lots of dishes and everything was delicious! Tried Carnivore last weekend with my parents to celebrate an anniversary and an early Father's day. The place inside is cozy - not what you expect in a strip mall. Our service was good and the waiter was attentive and provided recommendations. For drinks - the table got the Butterfly Martini, Ruby Martini, and PBR. The respective parties enjoyed the drinks thoroughly and would return just for that. We got the firecracker shrimp to share for the table. We enjoyed it - not at all spicy. For entrees - however, this is where it was a little lacking. Amongst the table - we got the Ribs, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Mignon, and Veal Chop / Lump Crab. My chicken was very dry. I liked the puffy pastry concept, but the inner of the chicken/ham/cheese was not flavorful. I ended up bringing half home - it is a large portion - and tried adding a sauce the next day. My husband had the veal chop and thought it was okay - again - nothing outstanding - given the prices. I'm not sure I would be back - unless it's just for drinks next time. read more

Just went to lunch with my girlfriend for happy hour and it was fantastic!! The server was great and the owner Chris brought our food out! This place is a diamond in the ruff! They have food specials every day except Tuesday, which had drink My friend and I shared the 5 course supper. You can change the chicken to steak or something else for just a bit more, but we wanted the chicken. It was plenty of food for the two of us. We ordered the French onion soup very cheesy and had a good amount of bread. Also, wasn't too salty. The shrimp and crab Louie was like a shrimp salad. It was light and delicious. The relish tray had many salty and pickled items. There was a small potatoe salad and a few crackers. Next we had the wedge salad and I guess you get to choose the dressing, but they didn't ask us and gave us blue cheese. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, so it would have been nice if they asked us. The chicken was 1/2 a chicken. The herbs underneath the skin was really good. And the white meat was juicy. There was some mushrooms underneath, Broccoli, and small side of mashed potatoes with gravy. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and was pretty disappointed. I will say the service is great, it is the food that fell short for me. My partner and I had: fire cracker shrimp for app, chicken cordon bleu & prime filet (with wedge upgrade on side) for entree, and a non memorable dessert (it had a flower on top which was cute though). The shrimp had so much sauce and breading on it that it didn't taste like shrimp. The chicken was dry, this is a hard recipe so I get it...but the phyllo on the outside was good. Steak wasn't exactly cooked to temp. But I think the worst part was: boxed mashed potatoes. Easiest and cheapest thing to cook with and you go boxed? Lastly, cocktails were just ok, and the back bartender doesn't know how to make a negroni, but his confidence in delivery maybe made up for it? I've been to Carnivore and the Queen many times over the last year. I first started eating there for the Wednesday burger specials. If you like a good burger go on Wednesday. The burgers are always delicious and a good value. Everything is actually a good value at C & Q. Portions are appropriate and always top notch in terms of quality, attention to detail and presentation. This last Friday I was there with a group of 6. I had never seen the restaurant as busy as it was. Completely slammed. But the staff hustled really hard and made all the difference. We have tried the Wednesday burgers, spent time there at Happy Hour and have done a dinner with friends and each time we left wanting to come back again soon.
