My family and I traveled to Myrtle Beach for a road trip. We didn't have anything planned for dinner so we decided to get a carryout order from this local sit-down restaurant that came recommended to me by one of the employees at the resort we stayed at. Carolina Ale House looks like any major bar & grill restaurant you've seen. It's spacious, dark, has plenty of TVs to watch sporting events and obviously a large bar at the center of it all. I went with generic staples like a shrimp pasta, burgers w/fries, and a garden salad. Everything was just fine, but nothing stood out. It satisfied our hunger and they gave good portions, but I was a little annoyed they didn't send home ketchup for the fries. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the food more if I actually ate at the restaurant, but as it stands it's pretty average at best. Went to Carolina Ale house for dinner and what a huge disappointment. Ordered the barbecued wings and you can tell the barbecue sauce comes from a jar. Also order the hibachi steak and shrimp without the chili sauce. The steak was not seasoned at all and had no flavor. The shrimp had heavy amount of salt. The broccoli and rice pilaf tasted and looked like it's been sitting in water for a long time. The service was good but not outstanding. Our last night in Myrtle Beach the family decided we wanted something with multiple options. Our service and server was great (bonus she just moved from our area MD). However, three family members ordered Salmon and right before others food arrived they told us they ran out of salmon, so we had to select something else. THEY ARE NO LONGER OPEN UNTIL 2AM!! After a late mid week night at boardwalk on the beach shopping our large ten plus person party went here at 11pm thinking they were open until 2am. We were greeted by one of the nicest waitresses I've ever dealt with, Captain Morgan (I'm serious). We ordered tons of food before hearing someone yell "last call" which when we asked apparently they only open until midnight during the week which hasn't been updated online. Nonetheless we were treated no differently with service or food quality. The food while not from Gordon Ramsey hit the spot and without issues. Nice vegetarian options on the late night menu which was clutch. Overall they were tested unexpectedly and nailed it!! Will be saving this spot for future trips!! read more

The booths are in desperate need of reupholstering. The host staff was not friendly at all. Ordered pretzels for an appetizer. They were over cooked and hard as a rock. I ordered lemon butter pasta and was lacking in lemon and butter flavor. Hubby got ribs and sirloin. Ribs were tough and menu was misleading about steak upcharge. We won't be back. read more

Went here for the 1st time with my parents on Saturday August 16th 2025. We went here because it is nearby the legends theatre and we were going to see a show there that night. This was nearest to the theater and within walking distance. We entered and was greeted by a host, who sat us down at a table. table was comfortable, at least. Then, we looked over the menu. Our waiter, greeted us and was very nice. We started with 3 waters, and I ordered a watermelon margarita, and my dad a pina colada. Only for our server to come back and say that we didn't have pina colada mix. And they almost brought out a strawberry daiquiri. But then my dad just had a long island iced tea, which he liked. I enjoyed my watermelon margarita, only thing is i wanted no salt on the rim, and there was sugar or salt on it. I drank around it, but when the server asked me, I said nothing on the rim. drink was good tho. For appetizer we started with the nachos. The nachos were really good with spicy jalophenos and cheese, and chicken on it, plus guacamole! We took a moment and looked around us, there were sports on every tv and we even found a Mets game on one of them and started watching it. My dad went to use the bathroom and saw the bar which had darts, and a pool table. Nachos came out very quickly and in a timely manner, and were very enjoyable! For entrees, I ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta, My dad ordered the same, but no mushrooms, and my mom ordered a chicken sandwich. Again entrees came out in a timely manner, and was very delicious, and the portions of the entrees are big. For once I didn't finish my entree, but it sure was delicious! the other people in my party also enjoyed the food. Oh, and only feedback is Why are the shrimps on a sckewer? Honestly it's so much better when the meat is in the food itself. Anyways. We got the check quickly, and paid our bill via credit card and left a cash tip. We had a great late night dinner at the Carolina Ale House. We had a late flight in so it was one of the only restaurants in between the airport, grocery store, and our hotel that was open. My husband and I had a high top table by the bar with a great waiter. The bartender also looked like he knew several people and was really friendly. I could've made that my meal. There were tons of toppings, and I loved that it was served on a huge plate, so there wasn't a pile of plain chips on the bottom. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the entree. My one sister and I shared the sweet and sour chicken bowl. It had WAY too much sauce on it. A great pub/bar close to Broadway that you can stop by for a bite or more drinks to end your night on a fun tip! We stopped by during our vacation to Myrtle Beach after getting drinks from another spot. This place was packed and busy on a Saturday night which was a good sign. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated and luckily there was nice weather out so we were able to wait outside before being seated. The hostess sat us and we were able to watch some March madness while eating as there were many televisions throughout the restaurant. Our waiter was prompt and frequently came by to ensure we were doing alright throughout our meal. He was fun and charismatic even though some of our group was a bit wild. Our food came out hot and quickly and was very good even though we showed up about an hour before they were about to close. The nachos filled the table. The loaded fries could have used a bit more dressing. The burger and fries were delicious though. Things were not too overpriced but typical for a pub. I was in town on business. I stay at a hotel across the parking lot from CAH. This place has a great local following. You will meet some of the best people at the bar which as a 24 year travelling Salesman I have always said "the bar is best for service". Frank and Trish are awesome bartenders and they provide excellent service. BTW the salad with chicken and skewered shrimp were delicious. If you are in MB you need to check this place out. read more

Let me start by saying I support local businesses, but stopped here because a good friend from the city I live in works here and I wanted to stop in and surprise them. We stated with loaded nachos. Really good and those peppers were HOT!!! Then I got General Tso's wings. Really sweet with a little heat at the end. And they were juicy. Had them grilled instead of fried and they were pretty good. Came here while in town in Myrtle Beach. Wanted to try something new after we went over to the Costco and saw the variety of their menu and decide to give it a try. It's kind of like a sports bar setting with a wide variety of different types of food. Not a bad menu and prices were fair. I had the fish and chips. The fish and chips were really good. Batter was perfectly cooked and not overdone while the fish was still juicy and flaky inside. Would definitely recommend this. My wife had a chicken salad and some soup which she enjoyed as well.
