This place is right on the corner of Lawyets td. Limited parking so you can grab your ice cream on the go. There are picnic tables outside the ice cream shop just in case you wanted to enjoy your ice cream in the moment. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. You can choose to put your ice cream in a bowl, cup or cone of your choosing. They provide quick service, so you don't have to worry about waiting. This is my favorite ice cream spot. You will thank me later. read more

The ice cream and milkshakes are very good! They also serve Cheerwine floats which makes this a truly "Carolina experience". The only downside is the line can be long in the afternoons/evenings (which is understandable, since the ice cream is so good that everyone wants some!). read more

"Best in the Carolinas" it says on the outside. Not sure who gave that title and when, but what you'll get here is so-so average ice cream with not great service. No samples. Everything is extra and evidently because they are concerned about their a/c, they force everyone to order from the walk-up window and you're not allowed inside. Spent over $20 for three single scoops that frankly would've been bested in taste by Baskin Robbin's (the cookie dough ice cream had three small chunks in the entire scoop for example). If it was ever "Best in the Carolinas" it was some time ago! Would not recommend. read more

We've never been there before, but based on excuse me how long the shop has been around, we decided to give it a try. When we walked up, it seemed odd that the inside area was closed off, and you could only order at the window. And that is not Something that is new, because the tape on the sign was pretty weathered. So we walked up to the window, and it's a little beat up, but we still didn't get bad vibes and then we were asking about the flavor of something, and then we were told that they don't give out samples, and there's a sign on the window that says the samples are not given out for safety reasons. That seems very suspicious. The ice cream had a good mouth feel and seemed to be quality, but the toppings had an artificial flavor, and there were not many toppings mixed, it seemed very light. Since this place has been around quite some time, I started thinking about it. I would suspect that the original owner sold the business. And the new owner are carrying forward with the base of ice cream, but finding ways to economize and squeeze more money out of this. They closed down seating inside as it lowers their overhead,, they don't give out samples, and the cheapening of the toppings that they put in the ice cream. it all adds up to a place that I will not likely ever go to again. read more

I was thrilled when I saw they had ginger ice cream! It was subtle but still so tasty! The strawberry cheesecake was really fresh, it went well with the ginger. Service was good, they only have a walk up window and no samples. They did a great job speaking on popular flavors and any questions you had! read more

Carolina Creamery is a staple in downtown Mint Hill. With COVID, you order your homemade ice cream from the window. The ice cream is soooo good! I really liked the Reece flavor! There are some flavors that aren't on the board, so make sure you ask if you want something like orange pineapple! Carolina Creamery has outside tables to enjoy the weather! We love this place. read more

Delicious ice cream and supporting q small business!! I love the waffle Cones, but really cannot go wrong with anything order read more

Wow this is probably one of the best ice cream places in Charlotte! It's a local ice cream shop on a corner in the small town of Mint Hill. I wasn't expecting much because I looked at their menu online and thought they had generic flavors, but wow was I surprised! I got the butter pecan in a waffle cone and the texture of the ice cream was just so creamy and rich, but in the most perfect way possible. It wasn't overpoweringly sweet and I could also taste the pecans. The waffle cone was a bit disappointing because it's not thick and crunchy like the other places. My only other complaint would be that they don't have prices shown at the counter and the staff also didn't tell me the total for my order. But I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious local creamery! read more

Cute, standard and affordable. Baseline ice cream shop that gets the job done. Thanks to the staff for serving it up!

We stopped by for the first time this evening and loved it! There was a line but it moved really quickly. I don't think we waited for more than 5-7 minutes - and there was a large family ahead of us. Have been going here for many years and this place has gone down hill with the service and the ice cream. Some of us get cones and upon getting them they are broken and the ice cream falls off on to the ground. Prob the last time we will be coming back here. read more

Cute neighborhood gem. Yummy ice cream and very traditional. Bust in summer, expect a line.

Whenever I go visit my family in Charolette we always make a stop at this ice cream shop. The good thing about our frequent visits is that my family lives five minutes away. I have never had a bad experience here. The owners and employees are always nice and the ice cream is consistent. During the summer, you can expect a line as everyone is trying to cool off with the delicious selections they offer. I do believe they close down for a few months during the winter months and open back up in February, but do follow up with someone from the area who may have more accurate information. I went to visit my sister and brother-in-law a few weeks ago and we made a stop by Carolina Creamery it was 2 pm on a Tuesday, so there were hardly any customers there, which was great for us...lol I never know what I want and the fact that I didn't rush to figure it out, was great..lol. I made a decision to get an oreo waffle bowl. It was delicious. I keep telling myself that one day I will try their milkshakes, I heard those were good as well, so next year that's what I will try. My sister and brother-in-law got ice cream as well. I forgot the flavors they chose, but you can view our waffle bowls below. I highly recommend you try this ice cream shop out. If you are tired of franchised ice cream and want something more local and homemade, this is the place you want to visit. read more

The worse experience, ordered 2 hot fudge sundaes @17.60 , the lady literally put 1 inch of ice cream in a bowl smashed down 3 inches of hot fudge and a tsp of whipped cream , the whole bowl was melted as she handed it to us we were in disbelief, For that much money we should get at least a full scoop of ice cream , very disappointing and way to expensive for nothing , WON'T BE BACK- read more

I have passed this corner many a time but really didn't think about stopping until I had some time to kill and a belly that wanted some ice cream. Well, that's sort of the truth, I was looking for a cup of joe instead - which this place has! But I decided on the ice cream since it looked so good when I walked in. The Carolina Creamery's store front is very unassuming.... you may not know it is an ice cream shop unless you jump onto Yelp or just walk in. There's no dining space, so you just walk in, order and go enjoy the weather outside on the tables across the parking lot, or just enjoy the treat in your car. The flavor that intriged me was a Mint Oreo Cookie flavor. I happened to be obsessed with Mint chocolate ice cream so this was a nice "twist". The ice cream was very creamy and had the perfect ice cream to cookie/crumb ratio. No fancy bells and whistles at this place, it just focuses on the ice cream and it definitely is the star of this small place. I will definitely be frequenting this place a lot more in the summer! read more

Great local, homemade ice cream. Both of my kids have loved this place and the outdoor seating is nice. Having a walk-up ice cream shop in the heart of Mint Hill is a nice bit of nostalgia. It's not usually too busy, The Blueberry is fantastic and really fresh, and they have a nice array of flavors. All of the usual treats are on the menu. It's exactly what you'd expect, which is what makes it great. read more

My husband loves this establishment and I have yet to experience for myself. We went out to get some ice cream and it didn't disappoint at all. It hit the spot. I got fudge brownie and he got butterscotch. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other flavors. They have a lot to choose from. There was only one guy working there. He was super patient, kind and quick. Can't wait to come back. Great ice cream. read more

HORRIBLE. CUSTOMER SERVICE - FLAT OUT RUDE!!! Upon my arrival I asked could I sample the Oreo and Reese's before making my selection. I was told they were not doing samples due to COVID( that's fair and I completely understood, no problem) So then ...I ordered a Reese's ice cream cone and was given a chocolate cone with peanut butter scoops. I kindly asked for another flavor because that was not what I ordered. I was then told "we've been here for 40 years, you should know what flavor you wanted when you ordered" - I then asked for a refund and was told "I'm not giving you your money back" I was completely appalled! I explained to the woman at the window that I was not going to eat the chocolate ice cream and that It would be in the trash- I didn't want her to think I was trying to get a two for one deal so said "I'll trow away the incorrect order in front of you so you can see that I'm not going to eat it " she said "I'm not giving you another flavor nor am I giving you your money back" .... I said "it's ok, I'll just dispute the charge with my bank." Her response was "you can't do that" .... I kindly walked off - it's disheartening to be treated this way especially when you are a PAYING CUSTOMER. And during COVID I've tried to support small businesses but after this experience I will be sure to take my money across the street to Baskin Robbins where it's appreciated. Word of advise - save your TIME, ENERGY, MONEY AND CALORIES AND AVOID CAROLINA CREAMERY !! read more

The first thing that I loved about walking into Carolina Creamery was the super sweet smell of cones! My family loves ice cream and we came here at the recommendation of my mother. We had a party of 7 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their ice cream! I personally had the mocha coffee, which was super yummy and rich; great for coffee lovers like me. Other flavors ordered included pistachio, chocolate chip, chocolate, mint chocolate, and vanilla. The waffle cones are super fresh and were delicious compliments while the ice cream was creamy, sweet, and had lots of flavor. I love that it's located in the quaint part of Mint Hill. Victor whose family owns the creamery was so nice to talk with. We enjoyed our visit and will be back! read more
