Visited Carolina RV on 1/12/26 to look into trading in my tow behind for a fifth wheel. Salesman Matthew Gilbert was great showing us the camper we looked at on the website. The problems started with valuing my trade. It seems the sales manager is unavailable a lot of the time and the sales team is micromanaged that they cannot do anything without running it past him. When I finally heard back from the salesman 2 days later, they offered less than half of the book value on my trade without even looking at it. Yes, I did remove the dinette and put in 2 small desks, it would need a free standing table put in it as well as a couple recliners or a small couch but nothing that justifies the extremely low offer price. Books for around 19k and they offered 8k. Rather insulting in itself. They claimed the RV market crashed the first of the year. Then, the camper we were looking at was priced at around 30K and they said they could only get financing up to around 27K for it. I never even filled out a credit app. I don't know how they are with selling new but it seems they have no interest in selling used. read more

I had originally given a positive review as the salesman was very friendly and taking possession of the vehicle went smoothly as I was from out of state. However, since the sale, there has been nothing but issue after issue. The title paperwork was sent to the wrong place, I have had several mechanical issues with the vehicle both on the chassis and the camper side, and the service department has been horrible to say the least at trying to resolve these issues. When you pay over six figures for a product you expect a certain level of quality from the product and professionalism from the organization that sold it. So far I have recieved nethier. It has gotten to the point I am now looking I to SC lemon laws. I have also had to find local repair support as trying to resolve the repairs with Carolona RV has gotten to complicated and frustrating. I would not recommend buying anything from this place. read more

BC of him I give this place any stars. Stopped by 2 days later once my husband arrived to the beach and could NOT get anyone to even look in our direction. Not sure what the deal was with that. I think we were the only ones there so it wasn't bc they were super busy. We did not go in and demand service. They saw us. BEWARE!! UNETHICAL DEALERSHIP I traveled 6 hours to look at an RV for sale. Upon arriving I was told that they would not allow a third-party inspection (PDI) and that it was up to me to inspect the RV. I performed an hour-long test drive and inspected the RV to the best of my ability. Before leaving we made an agreement on the price and terms to purchase the RV pending the dealership providing the past service history documents of the RV. later that evening the sales rep informed me via text message that the prior service history of the RV was unavailable. The following day I called the dealership as soon as they opened and once again, we came to an agreement to purchase the RV for the same price and terms as discussed, the day before. The only difference being that the dealership would service the engine and generator since the prior service records could not be provided. Once this agreement was made the only thing left to-do was affix the agreement in writing and send a deposit for the RV. less than one hour after reaching a verbal agreement to purchase the RV and while our agreement was being documented in writing I was notified that the dealership had just taken a deposit on the RV, and they would not sell it to me. At this time, I had already begun the deposit process, and the funds were deposited into the dealer's account. BEWARE this dealership will negotiate deals with two separate buyers at the same time and has no problem backing out on whichever buyer is the least profitable for them. Even receiving deposits from both parties and making verbal commitments both parties to follow thru with the sale of the RV to them. Summary: It is my belief that all of this did not come about by coincidence. Upon making an agreement with me the dealership then begin reaching out to previous potential buyers in an effort to make a more profitable sale before closing the sale with me. this is an Unethical business. Calling out Carolina RV, Myrtle Beach. I wrote them on 7/17, have not heard anything, but an auto-response, someone will reach out to you. Today hooking up the Jeep, I found the emergency cut off brake was missing, I found it, must have bounced off the road while driving and flew up into the plastic splashguard, good thing it didn't go off while driving, that would not be good. I paid a lot of money for a professional install, and they only used 2 sided tape to hold this??? For now I used zip ties to secure until we get back home. Below is what I emailed them, no response, I guess we wont be buying any parts, service or an RV there. and guess what, the brakes still not working. We had a flat tow set up installed May 23, 2023. When we picked up the Jeep and hooked up for the first time, it was raining. We drove the Jeep towed back home and disconnected. It wasn't until June 19 before we hooked back up and left for our 2 month journey. We were a couple hours into our trip, I decided to do a brake test on a back road, the tow vehicle is red on the tablet. I called, but no techs were available. We called the next day and talked to a tech, we decided that the 12V was not charging the Jeep. All other power is good, lights, turn signals, brake lights. After trying to get into any RV dealer, Most were months out to even look at anything. Some would not even work on it. I searched every fuse, none blown. I finally ran a new 12v constant back . Now the Jeep is charging and the braking system started, BUT, the tablet still cannot see the Jeep. Moved the hub in the back of the RV, still cannot connect. They only way to connect to the Jeep, is to have the hub and tablet in the Jeep. #1 the system never worked from the time we picked up the Jeep, during the tutorial when we picked the Jeep, The brake actuator never made a sound, it does now when the brake is activated. #2 the system is garbage, if it cannot be used in the RV. #3 The RVI site is also worthless for any real troubleshooting. In the end, this was thousands of dollars wasted. We are on the road for another month, traveling, Where do we go from here? Thank you read more

we came from Wilmington to look at a camper and hashed out a deal to trade in our existing camper, sight unseen, by Carolina RV. We disclosed everything we knew to be wrong with our camper & walked away with a fair deal and secured financing. We returned to trade out campers a few days later only to be told that our camper had damages beyond what was initially thought. Carolina RV & "wholesalers" they work with then offered us insulting amounts for our camper with ranges from $500-2500 to which we declined. We cancelled the sale & were refunded our deposit. The next day they called to still try to negotiate. What is this if not a scam? We disclosed risen linoleum but did not believe the floor to have rot..At no time were we advised that this could be rot & change the offer BUT if it truly was rot & $2500 was the max offer before we drove off how was there even anything to try to negotiate the next day? Don't trust this place & as a side-note, never purchase an Rpod. read more

While in vacation we stopped in and ended up trading for a brand new 2018 travel trailer. We took possession on July 19 and when we arrived back home on July 21, 9 hours away, we discovered the bedroom slideout had significant water damage. They refuse to call me back and refuse to make the situation right. They have failed to maintain the coach while in there possession and have failed to find this issue during the pre dilevery inspection. I urge everyone to go to another dealership, seems to me that they are about money and profit margins rather than customer service. read more

While in Myrtle Beach from Florida we stopped in at Carolina Rv to look at the inventory. We ended up looking after hours and were met by Jason Nagel who proceeded to show us motorhomes despite being closed thus setting the stage for his constant going above and beyond. We looked at class c's and Class A motorhomes. Once we settled on a unit we decided to provide our own financing through USAA Jason continued to assist through several conference calls and working closely with our bank to ensure a smooth transaction. We were so impressed with our experience our parents went over and purchased a new motor home the same day. Carolina Rv was so aggressive on our trade offering us an amazing deal. We looked at several dealerships and purchased from several dealerships and never had such a fun but professional experience. I will definitely buy another motorhome from Carolina Rv in the future. Very unhappy with management at Carolina RV! Traded in travel trailer for new 5th wheel, salesman was great! Started when I arrived on Monday with my old (2012) camper and worked the deal to have the new 5th wheel plate installed, after spending 8 hours for install finally got back on road, with all the paperwork I would need when I arrived back in Mass. I then went to my insurance company were they informed me I had to make sure Carolina RV had a Reciprocity agreement with Mass, the Business Manager after talking with him about this informed me I would be all set! When I went to register the camper the RMV charged me full tax of 6.250 of the sale price! And taxed me for my trade of 26,000 dollars! I did talk to my salesman and he told me the owner was not on site that I should talk to the General Manager, it's been months and still no call, after talking to someone in Mass Department of Revenue the rep said all they had to do was go online and fill out the free app! read more
