I work close by this location so we often place To-Go orders. Their estimated time before it's ready is never accurate. We often show up and the food has been sitting out and is cold, or we have to wait an extra 10 minutes before it's ready. Out of the group of people that order food, at least one person has an aspect of their order that is missing or is wrong. We have resorted to having to cross check each order before leaving to ensure it's all there. This usually results in us having to wait an extra amount of time for them to retrieve what was missing. Service is insanely inconsistent. You can go at times and have a great time, other times the service is absolutely abysmal. Food quality is also hit or miss. Sometimes the house chips are amazing, other times burnt greasy junk. Last time I went I got a fried chicken sandwich, they basically fried a thick cut chicken breast without tenderizing it or butterflying it. It was cooked uneven and basically junk. On my recent trip back home to South Carolina, I was really looking forward to getting my wing fix at Carolina Wings. It's been a couple years since I've been back and I was disappointed to see that several locations had shut down. Nevertheless, we were happy to find this location open and decided to have a family dinner here. What started out with my family (4) and my nieces' family (3) quickly grew to a whopping 18 person clan eager for wing goodness. Before going, we called to ask if they would be able to accommodate our party. They said "yes, come on down, there's no wait." Once we arrived, we were informed that because of the size of our party we would have to wait to be seated (what???). Since everyone was here, we decided to stick it out. Our expectation was that it would be 30-45 minutes ........ NOPE. An hour passed with not even a glimmer of hope of being seated. I don't know what the deal was. I witnessed no less than 8 parties ahead of us get seated after we were informed that we were NEXT. After almost 2 HOURS we decided that we had all had enough and scattered. Maybe the facility was just too small to accommodate such a large party . Maybe they've closed 5 locations since our last visit (reducing its number to 2 total restaurants) because of poor management or poor organization. Maybe it was "all you can eat oyster night" making it extra crowded that night (who the f has an "all you can eat" promotion on a friday night anyway? poor marketing choice if you ask me). Maybe they need to revise their reservation policy (they don't take reservations period, not even for parties over 10 - that's crazy talk). In any case, if they couldn't accommodate our party (for whatever reason), they just should have said so, instead of saying "you're next" or "we're just clearing a table" or "we're going to seat you as soon as possible" every time we asked about being seated. OK, granted, they offered us free chips and drinks because of the inconvenience, but what was the point if they were never going to seat us??? Sadly, I can't comment on the food. I can only comment on the horrible customer service, disorganization, and lack of professionalism. We will not be going to Carolina Wings again. read more

So, thanks to Yelp we found this joint while passing through Cola on our way to the coast!!! Searched restaurants nearby and bam!... Carolina Wings and Ribs! Firstly, the staff was very cool in that we had our pup in tow and their site had said outdoor seating, which is not completely true... It is indeed a covered porch, but not exactly outdoor seating... But I digress... The bar attendant in the covered porch asked us to wait as a party of about 10 was leaving and then she sat us with our pup! Great customer service! I have been on the hunt for sometime for some fall off the bone righteous ribs, so I ordered the regular rib dinner which came with Cole slaw and in-house made chips! The ribs came out with their "classic" sauce and were to die for!!! Great job grill master! The whole rack of ribs served me for lunch, for 2 days! The Cole slaw was excellent and the chips were good if not exactly consistent, but the ribs though! The only reason that this is not a 5 star review is that my wife ordered buffalo shrimp (yea, I know... This is a wing and rib joint), and the dish was just so-so. I understand that we are in a pandemic and to be more patient but the smokehouse burger left much to be desired. There staff is friendly and sweet, the managers genuinely care if you are enjoying yourself (those guys are always on the floor even when they don't have to be) and the food is awesome. You cannot try the shrimp and grits and tell me it is not the best in the Southeast. And, that is not a compliment I throw around lightly. We ordered off the menu as the buffet was empty except for salad. The shrimp was very lightly breaded and very good. It took another fifteen when I asked for boxes and the check. I loooove the taste of hot wings but can't handle a ton of spice and the fact that this sauce is cut with honey is perfect. Soooo, we stopped in one night to have dinner and I ordered the mild honey like always. When they came, I noticed they didn't look the same and tasted them and they were straight hot wings. The wings came back and he asked me to taste them and see how they were (which I thought was to be nice) and when I tasted them, literally nothing had changed. He said "still not enough honey?" And I said "no, they're still the same." He stormed off, came back, and slammed a cup of honey on the table and walked back into the kitchen. Our waitress was no where to be found. My husband said he would eat the wings the next day for lunch. We were so angry and the meal was ruined so we went and paid and left. I'm not one to make a scene, but my biggest regret is not speaking to the manager because we shouldn't have paid for that meal after the treatment we received. I was so angry when I left. We were here for about an hour and 40 minutes, our server was "busy" so the host took our drink order, my dad and I got our drink but it took over 30 minutes for my mom to get her cocktail. Our server came to get our order after 45 minutes, we order our food and she only came back to our table twice to refill my water and my dads drink, she never asked if we were okay or anything, she just came with her pitcher of water, refilled our water and left, she had long polished nails which are unacceptable for a food service operation, any good manager who has done servsafe knows this, after an hour and 30 minutes I had to get up and tell our server to give us our food to go because we had been there for a ridiculous amount of time.
