Went there once and actually enjoyed the food so I went back a second time. I ordered the same thing of a small pulled chicken plate with macaroni and cheese and hushpuppies as my sides. My daughter ordered the smallest macaroni and cheese bowl and a small side of fries. Her portions were huge and prices were decent. Good thing I didn't let the other reviews deter me. I had low hopes but We ate here today and it was outta the (Piggie) park good. The brisket was yummy, the hash was as good as Shealys too. First time I've eaten at a Mini Maurice's...we were passing through and I needed some Cue. The BBQ wasn't made in site but was tender and moist. The Hush Puppies were smaller than I remember from my last time having them ten years ago though just as delicious. The Hash and Rice was outstanding and more than a meal by itself. Haven't tried their bbq in quite a while but let me tell you about their cheeseburger and fries! They make a great cheeseburger at the Lex location across from the Urgent CARE. Thick, juicy with fresh toppings, tasty pickles and really done right. I also got the fries and fried okra. I don't really love most fries but these are really good. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. The fried okra was really good though it is probably from a frozen bag. However it was fried perfect and the coating is great. As close to fresh fried okra as I've ever had. I'll definitely get this again. I had no idea this bbq place had such good cheeseburgers. Great service too. Negatives: burger almost too big, tea is a bit too sweet (I promise I'm a true Southerner), hush puppies are too oniony, and overall it is kind of expensive for just burgers and fries. $40 for 3 people getting burgers, fries and drinks. For years now 1 thing at Maurice's that has always been an utter failure , the hash. Can't tell if it's the meat or all the grease floating on top. 20 minutes after I received my food the hash still burned my tongue. No I didn't bring it up to the cashier for a replacement or anything, mainly because it isn't the fault of two kids under 20 who take food prepared somewhere else out of a heater and serve it. Y'all need a new hash recipe, Boston butt and rump roast is best. BBQ was good. read more

Went here for the first time today. I ordered my food online and paid for it prior to getting there. You would think the order would be correct since it was in writing which would theoretically eliminate miscommunication. No, the entire order was wrong not just my food but all 3 lunches. We went back and they were quite apologetic and even gave me a free banana pudding. I despise banana pudding, but I did appreciate the gesture. They then proceeded to get the order wrong a second time at which point I gave up and went home hungry. I could not tell you whether the food is good or not because I didn't eat. The other two people in my party were able to get their lunch correctly the second timr and said it was OK. I sincerely doubt I would ever give them a second chance. read more

The food usually is hit or miss. They clearly just reheat food that's cooked elsewhere but certain items are made there (fried food). 50% of the time your order will be wrong. Every time you will be expected to wait a long time in the drive thru. Tonight will be the last time I ever go to this location. I went through the drive thru and requested the Pulled Chicken, well they were out. I then asked for the dark chicken and they had that? Makes sense right? Hence why I say it's all reheated elsewhere... if they run out of what's pre made.. they are simple just out. Well I get up to the window and the lady read back a order. I heard dark chicken and then I couldn't understand anything else she said because she was speaking so fast. I was handed a receipt to sign... yes they expect a signature during COVID for a drive they order... anyways I didn't pay any attention to what was on the receipt (I thought it was just a total and signature apparently it was itemized? I never saw the copy) and just signed and handed it back. After all I'd been waiting for a very long time by now. She then comes back and tries to hand me a drink and I said I didn't get a drink and she then says well you got the "lil" something. I never understood what she was saying. I said no I got the dark chicken. She slams the window shut and starts yelling inside. I will say I signed a receipt and at my fault but I also didn't know it showed anything but the price on the receipt. The attitude this person working the register is terrible. I was wrong but she also was wrong, I expected a person to be able to manage a one drive thru location and get orders correct. I also think she could've said you signed the receipt but let me see what I can do to fix this... she ended yelling for someone else to the window. A lady named Amanda came up and she was very professional and apologized. Tried to make it right, I guess. I kindly asked to cancel the order or since I signed the receipt they can keep the money. Supposedly they refunded me but I guess time will tell. I will not be going back simply because the way the cashier handled the situation. read more

I would not recommend this location. The service was terrible, they did not have a booster seat or a high chair, and for the price of children chicken tenders, I did expect more than one. I know the latter I should have asked about, but with previous experiences when paying six dollars, you typically get enough to feed a 16 month old.
