I already spent a bunch at Home depot trying to do it myself. I was told by Ramiro multiple times - not a problem, but still the drapes are hanging unevenly, rod bowing in middle, and the job already paid in full to Carol's Draperies: $748. I could not re-arrange work to be home today - this being the 3rd visit to install: 1st visit - wrong hardware 2nd- installed but sagging, 3rd - today to install "new" heavy duty brackets, still sagging when he left. Because obvious lack of communication, I asked my Spanish speaking niece that lives at home to call and explain that the drapes were still not straight, the weight of the drapes was still not being supported. Ramiro told my niece I was being cheap, and that he would CALL IMMIGRATION on her, and then hung up?????!!!!!! I never questioned the price, or asked for discounts? He bid the job, not me? I paid half up front and the remainder the 2nd visit he installed the drapes- trusting he'd come back and fix the problem. I repeatedly stated how heavy the drapes were and how I wanted them to hang. I cannot have him come back to my home after this. His response? "Sorry I will order the bracket to have in the shop." read more

The sales person has a rough attitude. Upon arrival, I told the sales person very nicely "this household follows a strict COVID protocol, could you ...". I intend to say please complete measurements as fast as possible, then we can go over any details outside in open air. But before I could even say that, I got lectured by this person. He said: "You should call me when you are ready! I go to many properties all day, nobody ever talks about COVID any more. If you are afraid, you should wait until you are not worried, OK?" I just bought a downtown condo in San Diego and needed blackout drapes in my bedroom. I reached out to a few high end drapery stores and went to their showrooms. They told me it would be anywhere between 8-12 weeks and would cost about $7k. They just kept talking about supply chain problems so I should accept the price and time frame. When I contacted Ramiro from Carol's Custome Draperies, he came to my condo the next day for a free quote and showed me the options for blackout draperies. Options he presented were very compatible to the ones in high end stores. 3 days later, they installed the draperies for less than $2k. I couldn't be more satisfied. This review is long overdue. I first reached out to Ramiro with Carol's Custom Draperies on June 18, 2018. First I tried visiting the website and contacting him by sending a message on the website. I couldn't do it because the website kept saying the message was too long, even when I cut it down to a sentence. I tried calling the phone number, but it rang off the hook without an answer or a voicemail. I then sent an email to the email address on the website. No response. A few hours later, I called the phone number again and was finally able to make contact with Ramiro. I explained that I was a tenant in a home whose owners had hired Carol's Custom Draperies to install the initial drapes and that I needed to get a couple of panels replaced. I also explained that my predicament is time sensitive because my lease expires at the end of the month, and I'd like to get them replaced immediately. He stated the earliest his team could come out to the house to see the damage and give me an estimate was a week later, on June 25 at 4 pm. After hanging up, I sent him a follow up email to confirm the appointment. June 25 at 4 pm rolls around, and my parents are at the home waiting for Ramiro. I call him. No answer, so I leave a voicemail. I also send an email. At 4:09 pm, I get a phone call from Ramiro, stating he found the owners' file, which contain the estimate, so he does not need to come out to the house to provide me with one. I ask, "So, you're not coming to the house today?" And his response: "We are in San Diego, and it's kind of a long drive to where you're at." Cool. Thanks for the timely heads up. I might have still given them our business even with this poor customer service. However, while Ramiro stated he had the customer file for our landlord's home and could provide us an estimate, he followed up by asking me to do measurements myself to confirm. WHAT??? Isn't that what you should have done at the in-home appointment you cancelled AFTER the start time?? Given that the windows are at least 10' tall, I wasn't about to measure them myself. So I called another company who came out to the house, measured, made, and installed the drapes within a week. read more

I had two weeks before my family was arriving for Christmas and I needed my drapes made and installed by then. I spoke with Rimaro and he came out to my house the same day to measure. He brought beautiful fabric samples, I picked two and placed an order. His prices were really reasonable and the workmanship was exceptional. My drapes were delivered and installed as promised within two weeks as promised. They turned out just beautiful. I called Rimaro again when I needed outdoor bench cushions and once again he did an exceptional job. I am an interior designer by trade and I would highly recommend working with Rimaro. Their work was completed exactly on time, just as Ramiro had promised. The quality of their shutter installation was excellent. We had a previous estimate by another company that quoted us $3,800. I had a wonderful experience! The owner was very patient with me as I made the selection for my draperies and valance. The material used was very high quality and the finished product was amazing. It completely transformed my space and now it feels so cozy in the room. There was a backorder, but the owner did call to inform me. I was expecting the installation of the part of the order that was not on back order but in the end the job was completed in the estimated amount of time. The day of the installation could have run a little better as they were 1 1/2 delayed getting to our house. The owner did call to inform me of this as well but not in enough time for me to adjust my schedule.
