If we were to rate the place on the taste of the food alone, it's an easy 5 star. No question. Easily, some of the most succulent and tasty grilled meat we have eaten. Unfortunately, the quality of service left much to be desired. For starters, we had to wait for close to an hour to get our food. This was despite the restaurant being at less than 50% capacity while we were there. And each time we asked how much longer it would be, the answer was always 'just 5 minutes more'. The bread basket that was later served along with the rest of the meal, could have at least been brought earlier (considering especially that there were young kids that were visibly tired and hungry). The owner appeared friendly though, as he went around visiting tables.
What really ticked us off was our experience when we were leaving. After almost 2 hours spent in the restaurant (most of it waiting for the food), with the kids almost half asleep, I inquired with the waiter on where we might be able to catch a taxi. (Through subsequent visits to the area, I learnt that taxis were available less than a minute's walk away). The waiter immediately said that he would call us one. In about 2 mins, a taxi that looked a bit run-down pulled up. And, as the kids were getting in, the waiter tells me the fare that we are to pay the driver - an amount that was easily 150 pesos over the regular rate. When I questioned him on it, he answered saying that the extra price was because the taxi met us at the door of the restaurant. And then, he sleazily reaches out his hand to the driver that passes him some folded notes that he quickly pockets. I felt completely used, but was in no mind to confront given that the kids were already in by then. We will not be back. read more
