We enjoy eating at Carpe Vino. Glad to see that they are still in business and providing quality food to go. The pull pork platter is awesome. Comes complete with side dishes and dessert. Can't go wrong. Paired the dinner with a nice Cabernet. We will be coming back for more.

Fabulous and cozy wine bar! We stopped in on a Rainey day, and this totally fit the bill! We tasted white and red wines; not just your average Sav Blanc, Chard, Merlot, etc. etc.; we tried unique local and foreign wines! Def worth a stop in on your next day trip to the area!!!

Our friends who live in nearby Cool wanted to take us for a nice dinner while we were visiting. Coincidentally, we had stopped in for a glass of wine on our way to their house. While having our wine, I didn't realize it was a restaurant as well. So our friends are wine club members at Carpe Diem, so we were able to enjoy their wine w/no corkage. To start, we had the cheese/charcuterie tray which was very good. Then we had the Caesar salad, whole leaf Romaine lightly dressed, topped with white anchovy. For dinner we had fish, fried green tomatoes, veggie ravioli and a hot brown (which was better than the one I had at Churchill Downs in Kentucky!) The food and service was top notch.

The chef is a bad ass. His flavors are eloquent and clean, a hidden gem that we are glad we found. The service is spot on and flawless. We will be back for sure too enjoy the atmosphere and delicious morsels. Me and my lady would drop a Benjamin here all day long.

I set out to make a fun evening for my husbands birthday and decided to do a progressive dinner for him. So we started out at PF Changs in Roseville for his favorite northern ribs for an appetizer, then we headed up to Auburn for our dinner course, then back towards home to the Cheesecake Factory for cheesecake dessert! We absolutely loved our evening here! I loved the fact that everything was slower paced, we enjoyed our wine, our cheese plate and our whole roasted chicken with a side of macaroni and cheese! So delicious...everything was perfect! We sat in the back room, right next to the window...which, with the Christmas lights all around the area, was pretty! Our server was awesome and his accent was pretty great as well! We are already looking forward to date night with some friends there! The funny thing is...we lived in Auburn for 10 years...we were so excited to get out of there a couple years ago and back down to Roseville...and I always said there would never be a reason to go back up the hill...well...we just found a reason! I heart you Carpe Vino...thanks for being a part of my husbands birthday progressive dinner...you were the high light...we will be back!

What a find! I usually think of wine bars being stronger in the wine vs. food category. But Carpe Vino had BOTH an epic wine selection AND an ultra gourmet dinner and bar bite menu. Coming from the Bay Area, I didn't have the highest expectations for a small town wine bar in Auburn, but we were totally impressed. The food was on par with fancy restaurants in the Bay, and the wine list had plenty of unique international picks. The atmosphere is lively, charming, and intimate. The staff and patrons share their small-town friendliness with anyone who wanders in. It's the full package. Suggested eats: the lamb meatballs, giant mussels in white wine verbena broth, and ricotta gnocchi were all superb. The cider braised pork chop was well loved by my husband. Prices are "special occasion" status, but the quality matches up & portions are very generous. Note to party planners: their private party room is the oldest structure in Auburn, with old brick walls, dripping with decades of melted candle wax. Super spooky and cool. Ok I admit it, Carpe Vino had me thinking I could actually *live* in Auburn if I had a wine bar like this to chill at. Thankfully, we've got wine bars back home too. But we'll be back when we're on the road to Tahoe!

There was very few people in for dinner on a Tuesday, and you kinda seat yourself. Grab your own water, utensils, and plates and pop a squat! Order at the bar and you can open a tab if you want to keep ordering. Everything is kinda small, but shares very well. Drinks were delicious and you can order typical cocktails that aren't on the menu (see the old fashioned) but their signature cocktails looked great too. The nutmeg on top of my pinapple/coconut drink was unexpected but really great!! Service is attentive and lovely. Come with a group for drinks and a shared tapas style dinner. And budget for a large check.

Growing up on my mom's Italian food she made I am critical of Italian restaurants sauce and their eggplant Parmesan as my mom made it so good. Pasquale's makes them both excellent. Mmm... pasta heaven…read more.. After a fun day with my neighbor, we decided we wanted to get something good to eat... and when we are together, we like to go all out. Pasquale's has been at the top of my list for a long time. It's located in downtown Auburn surrounded by other good places to eat and shop. The parking lot is tiny, but there is plenty of street parking available. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. When we walked in (close to 3), we were in awe of how beautiful it is in here. It was not busy, and we weren't at helped away, but that's ok because we were able to admire how gorgeous it was all around us. You can't help but notice the big cheese wheel in their display case. When I think of my favorite kind of pasta, it involves a cheese wheel... There is a bar top with high top chairs just waiting for you. They offer draft beers, wine and a full bar... but we decided we wanted a booth today. Inside Pasquale's is a brick wall interior with wooden flooring, where booths and tables are set up. It was cozy and very inviting. We barely glanced at the menu and knew right away what we were going to order. Now, I normally do not order anything with alfredo from anywhere... but something told me not to pass it up this time. I ordered the Salmon Fettuccine Alfredo, and Mary ordered the Lobster Ravioli. We also wanted a couple of Expresso Martinis to start. I think we were both starving, so we also ordered garlic bread to come out first. First, the Expresso Martini's arrived. They were in in a stemless martini glasses. They feature the same iconic, V-shaped as traditional martini glasses. I loved the way they were garnished with 3 coffee beans on top. The taste was rich with bold flavors that had a crisp kick of vodka. If I ever have an Expresso Martini from anywhere else, it'll forever be compared to this one. 5/5 Our garlic bread arrived shortly after we started sipping on our Martinis. They had the perfect crunch. The warm butter builds up with every bite to let you know it's there. Not overwhelming, or dripping, but it was just right. The garlic flavor was great 5/5 Mary's Lobster Ravioli was beautiful... the Ravioli was made with striped pasta dough; it looked stunning. The sauce on my Salmon Fettuccine Alfredo was gleaming, and looked so smooth. The salmon looked perfectly seared, seasoned with s&p and garnished with a lemon. slice. We were ready to dig in. My first bite was the delicious noodles... a savory, velvety cream sauce. It was like fireworks were going off. The Alfredo sauce coated every noodle flawlessly. Then I tried the salmon by itself... mmmm! Crispy, flakey, and moist!!! Now together... The contrast between the tender, buttery salmon and the hearty ribbons of pasta creates a spectacular mouthfeel... and the rich, buttery flavor of the fish went perfectly with noodles! Together, it was like the grand finale of a fireworks show on crack in my mouth. 555/5 Mary and I exchanged bites of our dishes. The Lobster Ravioli she ordered was delicious.. also garnished with a lemon slice. It was exactly how I felt like Lobster Ravioli should taste. This was a perfectly balanced dish as well, because it can be so easy to want to pack on the lobster to make a good dish, but then that's how you lose the rest of the flavor of the alfredo sauce and the tender taste of the pasta... but Pasquale's nailed that perfect flavor with the perfect amount of ingredients, getting us to crave the next bite. 555/5 After reading up on the history of Pasquale's, I found out it is owned and operated by Laura McGuire along with her daughter, Sophia. Laura was a former employee at the original Pasquale T's, which was a beloved Auburn staple in the 1980s and 90s. She brought the restaurant back to life in 2023, keeping it a true family-run establishment. If you're craving a rich and comforting meal, the Fettuccine Salmon Alfredo Pasta is my go to... it is one of my ultimate indulgences. Whether you're coming in for lunch or enjoying a romantic date night, Pasquale's Italian Ristorante feels like five-star luxury. It's hearty, comforting, and guaranteed to leave you completely satisfied!
