I had carpeting installed a few years back. My upstairs carpet started rippling in places. I've been here 37 yrs and had several carpets and this has never happened before. It must of been installed wrong. Not stretched good. I called the store and they said carpets do that. They weren't taking responsibility for it and referred me to a carpet stretcher. The owner first claimed I changed the order and a week later said they had no change order and would refund my money. They have not refunded my money and now I have to go to Small Claims Court. Never do business here again. Had lamenated floors installed in September. The floors were stained with adhesive wherever they touched with the tile I had kept. Called to have it cleaned. Waited over 3 weeks as they said they like to send the original installer who was on another job but was originally supposed to finish that job in 3-4 days BS. Finally after calling and calling they sent an office guy out with some water solution that covered the adhesive but I could tell it was a bandaid fix cuz days later the adhesive came through again. Called but was told the installer was now on vacation and will be back after Thanksgiving, yes it's now Thanksgiving and the original install was September. I was told via phone call he was coming out on Monday after Thanksgiving, no show after waiting all day. I sent an upset email to the owner a guy named Mike. Out of the blue the original installer shows up on Tuesday. He uses some strong scrubbing and picks up the adhesive pretty good. The next day the owner Mike calls me angrily saying that he's tired of sending people out to my house to clean my floors cuz that is why the adhesive could come out cuz I left my floors dirty. Total BS , insulting and no class or taking responsibility. Fortunately I don't have to deal with these people as the last clean up has solved the problem which could have been done at the install or shortly thereafter if the would have provided decent customer service read more

Not exactly sure about all of the positive reviews. We went in, looking for a specific coloration of carpet. There were no other customers in the store. Salesman was on his phone, (not talking, obviously texting or doing something else) and took his time greeting us. Didn't bother to get up right away. When we told him what we were looking for, he made a half hearted attempt to help and then said "Well, you can just look around". You know what? We can just look around anywhere. People go to small specialty stores because of the service. I get why the store was empty. read more

This was our second time using Carpet Empire in Indio, and Gary took excellent care of us each time. The first job was wood laminate flooring in our study. Thanks to George, our installer, the job was perfect down to every detail, and three years later it still looks like the day it was installed. This week we decided to recarpet our two master closets. Since the carpet didn't have to match any other flooring, Gary suggested we check out their remnant room. There was a huge selection in the size they recommended would be enough to get our job done. We tagged the one we wanted on a Friday afternoon, and on Monday morning they called, as promised, and the installers arrived later that morning. Elio and Miguel had the whole job done in a little over an hour, and we could not be happier. I'm just trying to figure out why we procrastinated so long to make this improvement. The new carpet is gorgeous and a much better grade than what was put in when the house was new. The pricing was a nice surprise as well - very affordable. Having shopped at several flooring companies in early July, we came across Carpet Empire Plus. The sales lady Janis was immediately captivating and inviting, and made us comfortable from the get-go. It took no time to ascertain that she is a lady who knows her business. She paid close attention to our needs, our personal taste, etc. She ascertained that a waterproof product would most likely be our best choice, and we followed her advice. We selected a couple of samples of engineered wood and tried them in our home. Quickly, we were able to make a decision, and returned to place our order. Janis was very helpful in the ordering process, and quoted us acceptable pricing on our selection. She also helped us understand other things to consider, such as working with existing baseboard or replacing, etc. We were given an installation date of July 25, and, as anticipated, Carpet Empire's crew showed up on time, moved furniture as necessary, removed all old flooring and preparing surface for installation. The job was quoted as 3 - 5 days, and it was accomplished in 3.5. The work crew was most considerate, professional, reliable, patient and everything one could hope for (if you've hired a contractor in this area, you probably understand how incredibly valuable it is to have such reliability. When completed, the crew did an exceptional job of cleanup and returning furniture, etc., to their original positions. They even identified all cables, wires, etc., to electronic devices so we would know exactly where to place them. A day after completion, our gardener noticed a mess which was made in our meticulous xeriscaped front yard resulting from the dumping of a "slurry" mixture in an area where it should not have been. We contacted the store, discussed the issue with the general manager Cliff, who immediately caused a remedy to be exacted, together with a small refund as a goodwill gesture. All in all, we had a great experience, are grateful for good people who did quality work at an acceptable price. Kudos to Carpet Empire Plus! read more

I went to Carpet Empire based on their great recommendations yelp. Gary greeted me as I walked in the door. He could not have been more polite, friendly, or knowledgeable. I told him that I wanted something super soft like the models at Sun City. He completely understood and took me over to a sample that happened to be exactly what I wanted. I was in and out of their office in about 10 minutes. The estimator came over (on time). He was so nice and did an excellent job. He also explained why I had a problem with our old carpet, and he told me that he would have the crew fix the issue (no charge) when they came out for the install. The scheduler called in four days and said the carpet was in. I was up front with Empire from the beginning about the large amount of heavy furniture that we have, and they agreed to move it at no extra charge. The four man crew came ahead of time and waited politely out front until their scheduled 730 arrival time. The crew worked their rear ends off the whole day. They were all professional, polite and did an outstanding job. I made the crew a nice lunch to show my appreciation for their hard work and they were all so very grateful. Not one piece of furniture was damaged! Now that is how a business SHOULD be run and I highly recommend this company. read more

These folks are the most amazing installers. I purchased Shaw carpet from another company in the desert and it developed waves. This happened several times. I contact the Shaw Warranty division and they sent an inspector out. They determined that the carpet was not installed properly. I contacted Empire and asked if they would be interested in helping with the reinstallation under the Shaw warranty and they jumped at it. Harry came out and did an estimate and within two weeks the crew came out to move the furniture and re install the carpet. These folks are true professionals. Ten years ago Carpet Empire Plus installed porcelain tile in my kitchen, and it still looks brand new today. So when it came time to renovate my La Quinta home for sale, I was pleasantly surprised to find that CPE had a store in Indio within a few miles of my home. I called Gary, made an appointment, and the rest, as they say, is history. We bought tile, carpet, baseboards, the works. Gary even took my paint and painted the baseboards to match the doors - now that's service! The workmen were very polite, asked the right questions, and went about their business in a workmanlike fashion. George was team leader, and came back twice to inspect the job after if was finished, and even removed and replaced a piece of baseboard for me at my request. He also redid some grout at no extra cost on a weekend and took great pride in his work product.
