This review is long overdue. More than 2 years ago I had flooding in my new house and needed to replace many carpets (glad to do so; those carpets were so very old). Somehow I ended up engaging D & D carpets. I can not emphasize enough how KIND, customer-oriented, eager to be of service, informative, friendly these people are. What's more - their selection is COMPREHENSIVE. I love glamour...like, SHOWSTOPPER carpet. Think Vegas, The Cosmopolitan. And oh my, I found plenty to choose from at D & D carpet. I think they have something for everyone - flamboyant (like my taste) to more conventional selections. One of my carpet selections involved glitter infused INTO the carpet AND optical illusion. If the carpet is brushed one way, it looks one color/pattern...brushed the other way, a different color/pattern. The goodness D &D Carpets has to offer doesn't end there. They permitted me to take almost 30 samples to my home so that I could select based on light and space. They helped me load them in the car. (The samples were big and heavy and took up the entire trunk of an SUV.) After I made my selections D & D sent out the most polite, most professional, efficient crew. These guys moved a TON of furniture out, installed the carpets, and replaced the furniture exactly where it had been. This was a seamless operation! Look, I'm talking A LOT of furniture, very heavy furniture. All moved within moments and replaced perfectly. I was worried about that - at the end of the day I was super-impressed. To be honest, I was not looking forward to the carpet-installation day. It seemed dreadful to me. I have many belongings and 4 high-maintenance pups that had to be relocated for the carpet installation. And I am also very high-maintenance. I felt the experience would feel like upheaval. But, wow... not with D & D... they know EXACTLY what they are doing. I just relaxed and within 8 hours it was like no one had been there... I just had this gorgeous new carpet! I'm writing the review now, more than 2 years later because I am presently admiring the carpet in this room, recalling conversations with the business owner regarding padding for under the carpet, and noticing how everything turned out so very perfectly. Feeling immense appreciation for D & D Carpets. When it comes time to replace these carpets, I know EXACTLY where I am going. D & D!!!! Look no further - this company is superlative. Had tile floors installed before we moved here at a price of $6,000. you should see them now..most of the grout has broken up and the job is terrible. they came out a few times and put in black grout...the original was beige. floors look terrible. manager refused to come out and look after being called many times. would not hire these people again!!! read more

Steve and his staff did a fantastic job of helping me pick the perfect carpet for my condo and worked within the constraints my limited schedule. Carlos and Raul showed up to install, right on the 8:00am button and were absolute pros. They worked fast, and magically made a seam disappear on the Berber wall-to-wall carpet I had chosen. They were cheerful and pleasant and took all safety precautions of distancing and mask-wearing throughout the 6-7 hours they worked. They moved heavy furniture, remembered where all plugs and wiring went, and left the rooms looking immaculate with everything returned perfectly in place. If I could skip leaving any stars I would. The owner, Steve Willis did reach out to me in a very timely manner as he saw my review and showed some concern. He did take the time to visit me to see the deficiencies and made some promises to follow up but those proved to be false promises. At this point, I've taken it upon myself to make the necessary repairs to two rooms of very expensive carpeting and have filed a claim with the manufacturer as what was sold to me as "stain resistant " is nothing of the sort. I keep my carpeting very clean with a pricey carpet cleaner. And now I'm forced to do double the cleaning as this carpeting seems to attract stains. While I've attempted to keep in contact with this business owner who yes, until recently has had a stellar, yet somewhat inconceivable reputation, those attempts have proved to be hopeless and I've asked him to cease from further contact with me. The repair costs will be sent to this business owner for reimbursement which at this juncture seems to be the best method under the circumstances. The manufacturer will certainly be a challenge that I'll be sure to update on this platform. read more

I was able to choose a quality but reasonably priced Mohawk carpet (with 30 choices of color, 3 grades) and custom order it and install it for me within a week's time, Thanksgiving week no less! In the showroom, no pressure, just a willingness to help me get what I needed as soon as I needed it. His installer scared me for a bit when he thought there wasn't enough yardage ordered, but there was, and from then on, installation went very smoothly and quickly. I would def recommend. read more

They also helped to advise me on how to care for my wool carpeting (which regrettably I didn't buy from them). They clued me in on how to care for it, how to clean it and how to repair a poorly done job (by another carpet seller). We did not go to Steve at D&D to have a small job in our second home condo done, but we sure wish we would have. Instead we used Son's Tile and got totally Ripped off & lied to. Son's Tile refused to fix their mistakes, and did a very poor job. (See my Review) I found D&D on Yelp and went to the store and personally talked with Steve. He was over the top helpful and had his installer out to our house that afternoon and the job was repaired and finished properly that day. Yes, I had to pay the installer $200, but I was willing to pay Son's Tile over $500 just to show up, which they never did. In several months we are going to re-carpet two of our Bedrooms and the first place we are going to go to is to D&D Carpeting. Thank you Steve!!!!!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about the store and its owner and his son. I just moved back to Palm Springs and needed carpet in short order. The price was very competitive, and it was installed 2 days later (as opposed to 5 or 7 or who knows how many days it would have taken with a purchase at Home Depot). Then, on top of that, Steve and his son helped me find a painter and a handyman -- who jumped to help me get my place in Palm Springs in order and functioning well. Talk about customer service, this long time family owned Coachella Valley (Rancho Mirage) business set a very high standard from the carpet & pad selection through the installation process at a competitive price. As a retired Santa Barbara and Marin County spec. builder I worked with many high grade sub contractors and consider D & D to be right up there with the best. You can have a big box company fudge the yardage measurement (excessively) and hire third party out of town installers or you can have accountable professional participation throughout, topped off with a great installation team of really nice, honest, hard working guys.
