We walked into their store very late in their day - in fact they were technically "closed" about two minutes beforehand. The salesman let us in and browse as much as we wished. He asked if we were looking for anything specific and we told him, yes: two runners for our kitchen, as inexpensive as possible, please. He steered us away from stuff he thought was over-priced, and gave us an INCREDIBLY good deal on halving a beautiful piece of carpet. The color matches our kitchen perfectly, and the most important creatures in the house (our cats) love it. We were incredibly impressed with the extraordinary dedication to customer service. For a moment there we thought we were back up north, near New York! Poor customer service and guilty of FRAUD! They measured our bedrooms to (I realized after the fact) make us pay for as much material as possible. At first, the man claimed that he would bring extra in case and reimburse us if it wasn't used. That was a lie. After installing the carpet, they failed to clean up the old scraps and left the new unused carpet in the house. They then proceeded to call my fiance saying they had left "their" carpet and asked that he deliver it to them. Are you kidding me? My fiance did the math and discovered that the unused carpet had been paid for and was ours, not theirs. Not only would they not reimburse us, they tried to claim it was theirs. No doubt they thought they could resell it and get double them money. Absolutely unacceptable. They cheat unsuspecting people out of money and materials. read more

Our initial experience with Carpetland and Umberto was fantastic. He came to our house, gave us an estimate, we picked out our beautiful carpet and the best padding. My husband and I aren't rich by any means, we're hard working middle class and make ends meet. We ate very cheap for 3 months, saved up and scheduled the installation almost 2 months out. We were so proud of ourselves that we actually saved up enough money, and so excited to get the new carpet. Now, here's where the nightmare began...the day before the installation, the contractors called us to let us know they would be at our house between 11 & 12...we thought they would be here early in the morning. They said we needed to put all drawers, pillows, bedding, etc in the bathrooms so it would be easier for them to move furniture (which we paid extra for them to move furniture). My husband burned a vacation day on Friday to do exactly what they asked. Saturday at almost noon they called to reschedule for the next day. They double booked and apparently even though we scheduled 2 months in advance, the other house was more important than ours. They said they would give us $400 off for the inconvenience...fine. Sunday comes, and mind you, my husband and I couldn't get to our bathrooms to take a shower since Friday. The installers show up at 9 in an air conditioning and heating truck, start giving us crap about moving furniture (which we paid extra for and my husband had to dissasamble he bed), they cut the carpet in the parking lot, walking all over it in their dirty shoes, pee in our toilet and all over the pillows we had to put in there, spit all over our walkway, leave staples on our front porch, throw their water bottles in our garden, and oh yeah, the new high dollar padding we paid for was NOT put down in any of the closets. They put the new carpet down over the old padding in all closets. They scratched our beautiful dresser and broke crown moulding just leaving it dangling for us to figure out how to fix. They took closet doors off and put none of them back on the tracks, leaving my husband to take them off again and put in correctly. Oh, and the $400 discount that was supposed to have been given for the inconvenience and rescheduling never happened. We still have more house to carpet and tile, but I'm thinking we will go elsewhere. I'm editing after speaking with "Mike" this afternoon...his ONLY solution was to have the installers come back, rip out the carpet in all the closets, put the padding we originally paid for down and carpet again. He DID NOT CARE that the original installers rescheduled, because "these things happen,", wasn't interested in the $400 off that the installers promised us for the inconvenience, could have cared less that they used the bathroom over and on our pillows, scratched our dresser, didn't put the closet doors back on the hinges properly, had my husband dissasamble tthe bed, which he can't do since he has a broke back and has a rod holding his spine together, argued with me about when we scheduled the installation, and didn't want to even listen to the fact that they cut the carpet in the parking lot walking all over it with their dirty shoes. When we asked the installers to leave the remaining, unused carpet, they said no and put it in the back of the truck and left. We paid for 100% of a product, and got 75%. Mike doesn't care. Run, run far away and don't even consider using them. Besides Umberto, they are absolutely the worst and I will NEVER, EVER be using them again. I have 2 houses, and they will never step foot on my property again! read more

Started out great. Salesman was very knowledgeable. Scheduled an appointment to measure for carpet for 5:30pm 07/17/2014. Called 30 minutes before to verify. Was told he didn't know if he could make. Called 30 after the scheduled appointment. Was told he had customers in the store and could not close the store. We are/were customers but didn't even rate a call to let us know he couldn't make it. Wouldn't come to my house for one room of carpet....Even though this room was over 450sq ft. I guess it wasn't worth their time???

We had our new carpet installed yesterday. It looks beautiful and the men who installed it were very polite and hard-working. We went with Carpetland over Home Depot and Lowe's because the salesman seemed more knowledgeable and they included the military discount that we would've received at Lowe's and Home Depot. I recommend them for your carpet needs. read more
