Elio and Mr. Hamid both came to do measurements for the two jobs we had done. Each time, they were punctual and professional. Elsa was always more than helpful in answering our questions and providing recommendations given our needs. We were always treated well and for each job went over multiple options to get exactly what we were looking for in our budget. They carry good quality materials, so even though you may pay a bit more for the materials, you can rest assured your floors will look great and last a very long time. The installer Efron was professional, on time, and left the house clean (he did both our upstairs and basement a year apart). The company worked quickly to come out and give me an estimate, and it was comparable to other quotes I received. We had carpet removed and hardwood installed in 4 bedrooms and on a staircase. They team worked incredibly fast and efficiently, arriving early in the morning and working well into the evening. They patched up the small holes in the ceiling below the new floors (a normal occurrence), but they did not do it very well (we will need to have it redone so that the ceiling looks good again). They also banged one of our doors into the wall behind it, causing a hole that they did not fix. We are happy with the overall result, but not thrilled that we now have to put money into repairing the ceiling and wall holes. Lastly, we also wished we'd had more communication about what to expect or how to take care of our new floors (thank god for google!). read more

Everyone from Elsa, to Elio, to Efron and his team are all worth honorable mentions for their customer service, attention to detail, and courtesy. With a home purchase came the new painting and floor replacements. I knew what I wanted and worked with Elsa as soon as I stepped into the showroom. There was no sales tactic, except recommendations based off the price point and type of flooring I needed. She even gave me samples to use to match against the new paint. I went on a Tuesday and told her that the painter's were there Wednesday and Thursday, I won't have the new colors to match nor be able to return it immediately. She told me not to worry, they had other samples to show. Then helped me schedule a measuring appointment, for the same week, on Saturday with Elio. Elio came on time, bright and early at 8am. He rapidly got the measurements done, and took down notes of which rooms to be completed, what could be omitted, and even told me labor would cost less since I took out all the carpeting and subflooring. The only removal was the warped/damaged laminate in the kitchen. After he left (and took the samples back), I received his email with a cost breakdown within a few hours. A LOT less than I expected (~$8000 for ~1400sqft of TRUCOR LVP). Efron and his team started immediately at 8am the following Tuesday. The preparation (staple removal) of the subfloor was quick within 30 minutes, but the removal of the laminate took most of the morning unfortunately. Much to the crew's credit, the laminate was on top of vinyl, of which dog urine was sandwiched between the two layers (This explains why the previous owner left the floors in such bad shape...). Efron stepped out to get the boxes of LVP while the other two continued to remove and clean. The men cleaned the floor before scraping up the vinyl so the urine would not splash everywhere, and swept up all debris before starting the laying. When Efron returned around 12pm, the men took a lunch break outside then continued within 30 minutes. From that point on, the men worked until 6pm. The following morning, Efron returned to finish up the work solo, and he so kindly adapted to not having electricity. I had an electrical team (V&P Electric, also highly recommended) working to replace an entire electrical panel. We coordinated for me to call him to return when the electrical team finished with the panel - of which, he finished the rest of the work from 3pm to 6pm. I am incredibly happy with the entire process - this is one seamless team that I, without question, highly endorse. I intend to have them finish the basement and entry, when I get around to deciding what to use! read more

We just moved to a house on the Hill and needed to install a runner on a narrow stairway with a funky kink under a tight budget. Based on Yelp reviews we decided to go with Total Floors and had a great experience. I called and spoke with Tara who accommodated us by arranging for us to meet with her father, Hamin, on a Sunday (when they are closed). We were surprised with the variety of carpets and when we gave Hamin our budget he helped us find an affordable, durable carpet that could be bound and installed all on the same day UNDER budget! About a week later, the carpet was delivered and they came over for 3 hours to install. The workmen were also great, respectful and tidied up when they departed. Topping it off, the runner looks great! Total Floors was simply terrific to work with. No more Home Depot or big chains for us. When we re-do our hardwood floors in a few months we will be going back to Total Floors! read more

The staff were all really nice and helpful, and able to get us set up with an appointment for measurement and installation fast! The floors look AMAZING! Even better than I thought they would! There were a couple small issues with the quarter round installation but they came back out and fixed it immediately and everything looks great now. Total floors is legit!!!! I first tried Home Depot, that was a disaster to sum it up. I found Total floors on yelp, based on the positive reviews called and spoke to Elisa. She gave me a total price, no BS. Elio went to confirm the estimate and he and I chatted to confirm a few things. He was honest, upfront and spot on with his recommendation. Best of all, I was in a short timeframe, less than 5 days I needed the entire location re carpeted, 3 staircases, 5 large rooms and hallways, about 1500sqft total. Not a problem!! They came and in a day took out the old, put in the new. And best of all, not only were they less than Home Depot and using better carpet and padding, they emailed and or called me back ASAP!!! We were renovating our home and used total floors to do 3 levels on our house with laminate, carpet, and hardwood. The experience was excellent throughout. We shopped everywhere including Home Depot and Lowes and Total Floors beat their price and by far exceeded their customer service. We dealt with Elsa and she was extremely flexible and very knowledgeable. The house was renovated in sections so we had to work with her on three separate occasions and every time she took time to explain everything, work with our crazy schedule, and guide us through the project. All the installers showed up promptly everyday and worked quickly and cleanly. Mr. Hamid gave us a few discounts along the way as well and really beat out the pricing from the big box stores. They then overcut the carpet where it was to meet the tile, didn't leave a threshold for the area. I'm really mad since I clearly told them to move it until the end of the month. They moved furniture without charging us (other companies stated on quotes charges of $100 or more to move furniture). Mr. Amin came by a couple of times during the progress of the job. I about 250 square feet of hardwood floor installed by these guys, and was very happy. They had to match pre-existing floor, and they worked with me to find the exact material that was used originally, so it matches perfectly. The quality of the installation was great. They did at least as good a job as the original installers. They were very clean and organized, and I had almost no scuffs on my walls or otherwise. Service was also fantastic. Brandy quoted me an approximate price that was fair and ended up very close to the final price. She was responsive at each step in the process. The estimator showed up 10 minutes early, and the installers arrived an hour early. Everyone was polite and courteous. If I had to complain about something, the shoe molding that they used was synthetic, so it didn't match the natural oak used in the rest of the house, but this was also my fault for not specifying. And they charged me $35 for furniture moving, which was a little unnecessary because there was just a small desk in the corner of the room. Bottom line: I'd use them again. read more

I had Total Floors install Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) in my basement and am very pleased with the result. Regarding LVP: I chose interlocking planks (Shaw Urbanality Click) that don't require glue-down or any sub-layer. The concrete floor was prepped - leveled and cleaned - and the planks were laid right on top of the surface. They call it a "float" installation" - simple and elegant. I shouldn't have to worry about mold or moisture as much as I would with carpet or hardwood floors. The look and feel of LVP is nice. It's not like it's going to fool anybody into thinking it's real wood once they touch it, but it's very solid and seamless and it doesn't seem flimsy or cheap. Flooring really has come a long way since vinyl tiles. I would recommend anybody who is looking to put flooring in their basement to consider LVP. Regarding Total Floors: I visited a few stores and felt that the sales staff at Total Floors was the nicest and most knowledgeable about LVP. I had a fair amount of correspondence with Elsa and Elio to go through logistics, pricing, scheduling, etc... all very professional and cordial. Dennis and William did the actual installation and I thought they did a great job prepping the concrete floor which I believe is very important. They worked hard, solid straight hours across two days and the outcome exceeded my expectations. There was a discrepancy with the the square footage and the perimeter measurements for material and labor. But we went over it and Total Floors refunded some of the cost, so no complaints. I'm going to revisit this review in a year or so to give the floor a full cycle of seasonal temperature changes. I believe if LVP is installed properly, the natural expansion and contraction of materials should not be a problem. But I want to make sure and only time will tell. For now though, the floor looks great! read more

Back in May, we realized we were moving within a week and desperately needed to install laminate wood floors for our new tenants. Bob and his team moved super quickly to work with our schedule; they kept us updated on the location of the materials, when they could install it and had the floors put in with a day to spare! Very poor customer service, as the sales associate was very non-responsive and did not communicate effectively with the installers. He initially informed us in writing (and we paid for) new wood on our staircase and landing, but then didn't install the wood on the landing so we had to order (and pay for) more wood. When the installers arrived the second time, he had not informed them what they were doing so they didn't have all the wood they needed and they had to order even more wood. They clearly had not conducted an inventory, and he failed to keep us updated on the progress or ETA. Unknown whether his misunderstanding regarding the landing was an error or intentional to make more money. The whole process was very frustrating and time consuming. Would not recommend. read more

I'd originally planned on going with another company because the other company brought samples with them and provided a comprehensive quote at the time of the estimate. Total Floors came by only to take measurements and they left saying someone would be in touch with me within the next couple days to provide me with a soft quote. That being said, in the end, I'm glad I chose to go with Total Floors. Firstly, they were able to meet my EXTREMELY tight deadline. They came out to give me an estimate in mid-December, but because of all the vendors I had coming out for quotes I couldn't make a decision until Jan 2. Even so, the work was completed on January 5 well before my January 12 deadline. Secondly, I noticed they had a discount for anything before January. They gave me the option to apply that discount up front OR 0% interest financing. I opted for the latter, but appreciated the fact they'd honor the December discount even though TECHNICALLY the discount had expired by the time I'd made a decision. Thirdly, the owner came by to check up on the work being done and he came by with a goody bag! A box of Ferro Rocher chocolates with a thank you note inside, floor cleaner, and a branded canvas bag. This has nothing to do with the flooring itself, but I think it's exceptional customer service. Lastly, I'd requested a 20-30 minute call before their arrival as I'd had a doc appointment just before they were scheduled to come and I wanted to be sure someone would be home (and awake) to let them in. They forgot to call, but were very nice when I told them I'd be home within 20-30 minutes to let them in. We needed about 500 sq ft of carpeting in our townhouse including a stair runner. Mr. Bob Amin was extremely patient, informative, and obviously knowledgeable during our visit to the showroom. We found their available selection and pricing very competitive. Mr. Amin followed up quickly with a visit to measure and provided an estimate within the promised 24 hours. Given the relative modest size of the job, we were impressed. The carpeting was ordered promptly and installation scheduled within two weeks of our showroom visit. The installers were courteous and hardworking. They moved our furniture without additional charge. They discussed all potential "issues" with me. We discovered a few problems after they left. Mr. Amin and his staff were extremely obliging in scheduling a return visit by the installers, who spent several hours fixing the problems. Overall it was a very satisfactory experience. read more

I was very stressed out after a horrible experience at Carpet One so we went to Total Floors. We had just closed on our house but needed carpet for a couple of rooms because the previous owners cat destroyed it. The smell was so bad we had to take all of the carpet out and seal the floor with Kilz. We needed new carpet before we could move in. Mr. Amin is very polite and professional. They have a great selection of carpet. We showed him what we wanted and he found a variety of options that were similar. He didn't try to upsell us or recommend something we didn't need like Carpet One. He actually saved us money by recommending carpet they kept in stock instead of ordering the more expensive. It only took 20 minutes to pick out carpet and get everything scheduled (as opposed to the hour and a half I spent in Carpet One with no carpet ordered but that's a yelp review for another time). The carpet was installed a week later. It looks great. We are very happy customers! read more

We had custom windowsills made to match, and they are gorgeous. Mr Hamid, the owner, came to the initial consultation, came to see progress on installation, and then made sure to met with us to make sure we were happy with results. Company has great customer service and really wants you to be happy. We had a pretty strict price range. Elsa and Mr Hamid were careful to only show us options that fit our price range. RUN, RUN, RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. All you need to see are the photos attached to this review of the absurdly bad installation job, which is I guess a natural extension of the absurd experience with this company. We had a pipe burst in our home in January due to the freeze. Our nightmare with Total Floors began shortly thereafter in early February. After getting several estimates from different flooring companies and contractors (and looking at Yelp reviews), we decided to go with Total Floors. After we had signed the contract, we were informed that the wood we had ordered was a "non-stock" item, and that it would take a few weeks for the floors to be delivered. We had no floors in our home during this time. This brings us to early March. A few days before our floors were supposed to be installed we got a call from the then Sales Manager Azad (who at some point during this process left the company and didn't tell us, nor did anyone else from Total Floors inform us), who told us that the wood distributor did not have enough wood to fill our order, but not to worry b/c there was another type of wood they would be able to use that would match the size, type, look, grade, and quality of the wood we had ordered (not to mention paid for). When they finally arrived to install the floors, the additional boxes of "replacement" wood were obviously different in look and quality than the type of wood we had ordered so we did not want this replacement wood installed (the replacement wood also had different manufacture warranties which would have possibly created additional headaches for us down the road). This resulted in about a three foot long area of unfinished flooring, since they did not have enough of the wood we actually ordered to complete the job. So Total Floors told us that the second batch of wood needed to complete the floors would be available by April 1. A few days before April 1, they informed us the date had been moved to April 18. A few days before April 18, they informed us the date had been moved to May 2. Now for the most ridiculous part of this whole thing. At first, we thought the flooring looked fine (despite the fact that we had an area of unfinished floors). As the days went by, while we were waiting for the additional wood to arrive, we began to notice gaps between the wood planks. In several places the gaps were so big you could see the subflooring. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that a substantial amount of woodfiller was used to fill in large gaps between the wood - that wood filler was now dissipating and the bad installation job was becoming apparent. We contacted Total Floors to inform them of this. They came over to inspect, and before they even began their inspection the owner said, "Oh, this is not an installation issue, this is an issue with the wood milling!" No joke. He literally crossed the threshold of our front door and made this announcment. The reason he said this is because faulty product is covered by a manufacturer warranty. Faulty installation is covered by a 2 year warranty through Total Floors. This is a good time to look at the photos again. We had another subcontractor come to inspect the floors, and they were literally installed CROOKED by at least two inches! Despite the obvious fact that the installation was not proceeding correctly and the planks were not aligned, Total Floors continued installation. And then they tried to cover it up with wood filler. Despite the fact that it was very clearly an installation issue, as a matter of courtesy to Total Floors we waited for them to submit a claim with the wood manufacturer. This added an additional three weeks. This brings us to late April. Of course, as expected, the wood manufacturer said that the problem did not lie with the product. Because it was an installation issue, we were entitled to a full refund of the money we paid plus removal of the flooring, which the owners agreed to. After we got our 40% deposit back, Total Floors said they were not coming back to remove the floors. So this cost us an additional several hundred dollars to have removed by another contractor. So now it's late July We just had our replacement floors finally installed late last week. Thanks Total Floors for ensuring our home was in shambles for 6 months. We hired Total Floors to do three jobs, back splash installation, hardwood floor installation, and also a hardware floor repair. Both installations were done with no issues and the workmanship was very good. Email communication was good and they were upfront on what they could or could not do. My best transaction was fixing a hole we had in our bedroom which was left behind by another contractor. I couldn't believe my eyes when the work was done, it was a flawless fix and it looks brand new. It was also a lot cheaper than what was quoted to me by the other contractor. We purchased laminate flooring for our living room and kitchen from Total Floors. The flooring took a few weeks to arrive and TF called me and said they could install it the following week. I was told they would complete the removal of our current flooring and installation in 3-4 days (M - Thursday). I said, that works for us but we are going out of town on Friday so as long as you are done by Thursday we should be fine. The week was relatively uneventful but I noticed the "crew" didn't show up until after 10:30 one day. I thought this was a little odd but I wasn't monitoring every move. On Thursday afternoon I came home from work around 3 and I was very apparent the job was not going to be done in 3 hours. I spoke to the on-site project manger but it was difficult to communicate with him so I called TF to make sure we were on the same page. the person I explained the situation and agreed that it was "ok" for the crew to come back the next day but they HAD to be done by 3 because I was leaving. He assured me that it would be done by 3:00 and that they had only fallen a little behind. Bottom line they were not done at 3:00 and we reluctantly agreed to let them come back the next day while we were out of town. When we returned from our trip (7 days later) one board in the middle of the entry way was sticking up and there was a puddle of water in the middle of the kitchen not to mention a very dented handle on the dish washer. We wiped up the puddle and promptly contacted TF regarding the board that was sticking up and the puddle. A few days later someone from TF came by and fixed the board and inspected the area that was covered by the puddle - which was not starting to look warped. He was very confused about the water and where it came from and asked lots of questions. We suggested that one of the crew members may have bumped the dish washer/accidentally turned it on. He told us to call TF in a few days. Over the next 4-5 months we went back and forth with TF about getting the warped boards replaced. To make matters worse the staff turnover was so high that the people who answered the phones kept losing notes about our case/not calling back when they said they would. We had at least 3 - 4 separate people from TF make trips to "evaluate the damage." In the end we ended up paying for the supplies to replace the floor (about $500) and they covered the labor. read more

I used Total Floors to install hardwoods in my kitchen, foyer and on some stairs. My experience was beyond pleasant. The guys worked very quickly and cleaned up well after the job was complete. I got a total of 3 bids and Total Floors quoted me the best price of all 3. Showroom is small but the salesman took a lot of time to discuss the different options that I had with matching up my new floors with some existing floors that I have. I came in about 20 minutes before the store closed and I did not feel rushed or like he was trying to just sell me the most expensive option. I just got a good, honest vibe from him. I had went to another local carpet store a week before the deadline and was promised the carpet would be installed during the week. As of Wed afternoon I had not received an estimate or appointment after multiple requests. So I got on Yelp and found Total Floors. At 4:30 PM on Wed I called them and they immediately went out and measured for an estimate. Thursday morning I had the estimate waiting in my inbox. I agreed with the estimate and Total Floors scheduled the install for Saturday 10/31. The Total Floors installers worked from 1 PM until 9 PM to complete the work and allow me to meet my deadline. I would highly recommend Total Floors to anyone for all their flooring needs. I did a lot of research and went to many stores before I settled on Total Floors. I can say without hesitation that they are the best!. I could not have asked for better from start to finish. Great selection of all flooring types, competitive prices, and excellent customer service from owner and all staff. Elsa is very knowledgeable about the carpet and hardwood selections and gave me an honest review including the pros and cons of the various products. Further, she did not try to steer me to the most expensive. She is attentive and listened to my needs, and did her best to see that my flooring needs were met. When I had a question about the bill, she was very patient and explained until all was understood and resolved. Mr. Hamid has been wonderful and made more than one trip to my home to make sure that everything was correct and done as promised. He is a testimony that excellent customer service starts at the top and he makes sure that all his staff provide the same. When the actual installers came to my home - first Victor for the carpet installation, then Danny for the hardwood, the excellent customer service continued. It really pains me to write this review but I have to since I found this company on yelp I felt others should know. Yelp really let me down here! I used consumer checkbook for a few quotes but they came in higher then Total floors. P I had them to install wood floors and finish them. I purchased the flooring from another vendor and had them to do the work. The customer service was great when I was a potential customer. Bob took some of the flooring had it stained so i could see how it would turn out. After install the floors l looked good. Besides on one part of the floor where they sanded in a circular motion which was still visible after staining I was happy. After a few months the floor started have gaps and where they used filler started to crack. To make matters worst my girlfriend, my dog and I started getting splinters. So I called Bob to see what was going on, he explained this is normal because of the lack of moisture in the winter. ( wish he would have told me before hand so i could have expected it). Well more and more gaps started to show up, and it seems as if they used alot of filler. The job almost looked like something I could have done 6 months after the install. After talking to other installers they could have taken more time on the front end to find the pieces that matched to use less wood filler. So I contacted Bob again, this time I could only track him down by email until several weeks later I was able to get him on the phone. He blamed my issues on the wood this time saying that I had a cheap quality of wood. Now I am annoyed because this is the first time he brought up the wood quality as an excuse and other contractors before and after have said this wood is not poor quality. Last time I spoke to Bob was March and he was supposed to get back to me to offer solutions to help get rid of the splinters. It is July and I have not hear from him. This makes me think once the job is done they are finished with all responsibility. Total floors may be a better company for carpet or other services. My experience with service post job completion was poor! The floors looked great the day after and even a few weeks after they were finished but then when I ran into some problems it was hard to get them to assist. If you look at a review from 1/24/15 this person ran into the same problem. I had my floors installed 10/15, i should feel the same way about my floors nine months later that I do now.
