We love the Carr cheese shops! We stopped here on our way to Madison - just for the cheese. There is a ton to pick from. This time we bought cheese curds and Bacon Bread cheese. Cheese curds are great, buttery and squeak when you bite them. Yum! We will be back!

This was a bit of a bummer experience. We drove out of our way off the highway to stop by this shop during a cross country road trip. The guy working behind the counter didn't acknowledge us when we entered (we were the first ones in the shop) and kept moving his mask down onto his chin. During our visit, the shop was awkwardly quiet with no music or background noise playing- it might seem like a weird thing to mention but it made the vibe feel off. The shop itself was really cute and had just what we were looking for- cheese snacks, meats, crackers and jam perfect for a road trip. We ended up buying three cheeses and crackers for our journey west. Back home in Indy, we often by Carr Valley grilling cheese (like Halloumi) to go with roasted veggies from our favorite local market. Overall, it was the lack of customer service that made this a disappointing experience. It seems like it could be so much more!

Great place to sample and stop for cheese in Wisconsin Dells. Store was empty at 6 PM (except for one couple that grabbed the last two bags of cheese curds). Samples were all in individual cups. Masks required and hand sanitizer at the door. If you want to try something else, ask for a bite. Dixie was so helpful. Loved the Blue Ribbon Black Goat Truffle cheese that we tried on her recommendation. Also bought a native sheep and apple smoked fontina. Check out the overstocked area for some extra discounts. The award winning Blue Ribbon Marisa was 25 % off. They are open until 8 PM whereas other Carr Valley Cheese locations close at 5 or 6 PM.

OMG! When in WI you must go to a cheese factory... our family favorite is Carr Valley. It didn't disappoint as a grown up. And the values here, I'm enjoying over 2lb's of cheese for $12. Also tried many different samples and loved them all... bread cheese, blueberry cheddar, crème, grande ... loved them all

Fantastic cheese, great service, fair prices, and cute home decor, too. The cheese curds were squeaky delicious for the whole 3 days they lasted in our cabin.

Carr Valley Cheese is a great little cheese shop situated right on Broadway selling cheese from Carr Valley Cheese company. Made in Wisconsin (as all the best cheese is), Carr Valley Cheese is legendary (they've been making cheese for over 100 years). They have everything from perfectly squeaky curds to mixed milk cheeses and everything in between (they do cow's milk, goat, and sheep). We came here during a vacation trip to the Dells. We were able to try some cheese as well as purchase a small bit (since we were staying in a hotel). Next time I would definitely make this one of the last stops, so we could get some of their amazing cheese to take home! Get to it!!

Kinda expensive for such a small amount of cheese curds. They were good, but I wish they were a little bit crunchier. I liked that they had a lot of different samples of cheese you could try that were pretty good.

These people were incredibly helpful! We stopped in real quick on the way to Minneapolis, just to get some quick cheese to bring back to Kansas City later, and this place did not disappoint. A bit of a tourist sink around this area, with places that sell shirts, large silly candy stores, et cetera. But, with samples ample, different variations of cheeses on tap, and the knowledge level befitting a true Wisconsin, this place hit the ticket! It's not that big, and street parking is really the only option that I could tell, but it was worth a stop. Carr Valley is a pretty big producer of Wisconsin cheese, and they had some type of cheese that is eaten when heated - the name escapes me. But they sampled it, then we bought some. Everyone loved the cheese we brought back. A definite stop worth the time. Next time, I'm going to try to get in touch with some actual producer farms; you know, get the cheese straight from the source. But as it stands, this was exactly what we desired in a pinch. They've got some merchandise around the cheese, so bring monies. Thanks, Carr Valley Cheese! Hope to travel up again one day soon.

We sampled the Canaria and it was delicious !

We had to get cheese before leaving Wisconsin ! Carr Valley's prices were perfect ! I expected the prices to be outrageous. There were also multiple samples out. We ended up buying one of the sample cheeses. It was so good ! They sell a lot of other things besides cheese. I got a little bottle of maple syrup that I'm excited to try out.

What a cute addition right smack on Broadway in the Dells…read more Stopped by here for coffee and breakfast on a recent trip to the Dells. The restaurant itself is cute as a button with the black and white checked flooring and cutsie decor. The front windows roll up to make for lovely open air dining on pleasant days. It's an order at the counter and they'll bring your food to you sort of set up. For my first breakfast here, I got their oatmeal which was fantastic. It was a hearty serving of oatmeal and had chia seeds, cinnamon, blueberries, strawberries, and banana on top. All the fruit was fresh, making for a wonderfully delicious breakfast. The coffee is also solid (though I can't recall what I ordered) and the service is friendly. Get to it!

Very cute place. Pretty good food. But given how busy the rush is here, there needs to be more…read morestaff on floor at a time. When we stopped in, there were 2 staff, one working the coffee bar and the other on the ice cream, who were running around, serving food, making drinks, and constantly busy. It left us waiting to be serviced for around 10 minutes and when our food arrived, it was cold (likely from waiting for a server/coffee bartender to find a break to retrieve it). I ordered the french toast, which was good, cold but good, and a coffee, which I was okay with. My partner ordered the pork bowl, which arrived cold aside from the eggs in it. The prices here are reasonable, especially for the Dells, but I think Huckleberry's would be smart to have a few more hands on deck to ensure timely service.

If your a jerky/snack stick person than this is paradise for you. It's definitely a little hard to…read moresee because it's a narrow sliver of a store sandwiched between two bigger stores. You can sample some of the items before you buy them to see how you like them and they guide you through the different styles and flavors of the jerky. There is ostrich, alligator, beef, kangaroo, buffalo, Elk and Venison varieties to choose from. There is jerky kits for the do it your self people along with cheeses, hot sauces, Bloody Mary mixers, candy, condiments, crickets etc. This is a little more than just a jerky store and definitely worth checking out. I wanted to try something that I probably will not see in my daily travels so it was down to the kangaroo or ostrich with the ostrich log/stick going home with me. Yah it's definitely a Dells tourist thing but it's still pretty cool and worth stopping by.

I feel slightly bad giving such a bad review but if the owner is going to have such horrible people on staff, then it's deserved. The girl working seemed like we were inconveniencing her because she was glued to her phone but she did give us the samples we asked for... reluctantly. Our 8 year old daughter told us in the store that "the girl behind the counter keeps making faces and rolling her eyes at me" so we told her to just ignore it and stop looking at her. We purchased 3 bags of jerky and a dog treat totaling almost $40 which is an amazing deal for jerky. We leave and our 8 year old starts bawling instantly telling us that the girl behind the counter flipped her off when we walked out. WHAT?! My husband went back in with our daughter to confront her and she of course denied it. "I would never do that" with a smart ass smirk on her face. We drove off and the more I thought about it, it enraged me. Even if our daughter was staring at her, what "adult" person flips off a child. Grow up and maybe don't work retail in a TOURIST TOWN FULL OF KIDS. Reading the reviews online, there are multiple accounts of the same behavior happening. I drove back and told her I want a refund for everything because I'm not supporting a business that hires such horrible people. She once again said "I didn't do it". Like my 8 year old is gonna make up a random lie and cry about it. The fuck??! I got the refund with no argument which is very telling. If I were the owner, I'd check back on the cameras instead of listening to their lying ass employee.
