WALKED OUT- INEXPERIENCED HOSTESS VANISHED BAD MANAGEMENT SHOWS Walked in at 6PM Asked hostess for table for 2, saw empty tables and booths. Hostess voice unable to hear due to music drowning her out. Hostess gets a phone call, many minutes go by as she talks, so we sit down. After 10 minutes, we ask Hostess again. She says, "I have to wipe the table first" and vanishes. Never to return. Other workers see us looking for help and whisk by, avoiding eye contact. WTF At 6:17 - We WALKED OUT. I heard an economic report that mentioned how difficult it was for restaurants to keep business, with this in mind, my husband and I decided to patronize our local Carrabbas on Cortez Rd., Sunday 7/4, at 6pm in Bradenton. We arrived to a busy restaurant, but no wait. The young lady at reception asked us if we wanted a table or booth, we indicated we prefer a booth. Right in the middle of the discussion she told us to hold and answered the phone, she then started a long conversation with someone while we were standing right there. We went and sat down in the waiting area hoping she would acknowledge us and take us to the booth. I noted that she had ended her call but no acknowledge. I went up to her and pointed to a booth that was open and said "can we take that one"? She said "yes, i just need to wipe it down" Great! She left and never came back, we waited for 2 minutes additional and then left ourselves. Ridiculous customer service! The young lady seemed very reticent like she was not properly trained and had no real clue as to how to be a hostess. Perhaps this experience may suggest a reason for declining sales? read more

Great place; Great customer service When dinning out to eat--even at your favorite place--it is inevitable that not every experience is going to hit it out of the park. Mistakes and missteps are bound to happen here and there. Such was the case during my last visit to Carrabba's. My mother and I had lunch at Carrabba's Italian Grill in Bradenton yesterday and there were a couple of different issues we had over the course of our meal. Although there were errors during our experience--both by the kitchen and service staff--the team was quick to address the issues accordingly and completely rectified the situation--even going as far as to comp one of our meals as well as a couple of other things from our bill. We were both taken by surprise as such considerations are entirely rare in these kinds of situations, at least in my own experience, anyway. What an incredible example of how things going awry can turn into an opportunity to shine and show the guest they absolute matter. Kudos to the Carrabba's family for exemplifying truly excellent customer service. Thanks for all your hospitality! read more

Ordered several filets delivered over on Anna Maria Island, the food was still hot when it arrived and the steaks were perfect. The sides were all tasty and the portions well sized. Last year I was at this Carrabba's and the runner that brought out me my food was so much fun and personable. Tonight when we went, Kylla, who had been the runner before was our server. It's a chain so it's as one would expect. The food was pretty decent but with catering not many seemed to want to eat it. We had placed an order to be picked up at a certain time and it took so long to get it that it seemed like they either forgot or simply just didn't prepare it and waited until we showed up to put it together. Almost great We arrived at an odd time, too late for lunch and too early for dinner, which definitely worked in our favor. With few customers we had the friendliest most attentive server, I liked her so much I think I tipped her over 30%. We even got good vibes from the host/hostess team, smiling and helping us get through the double set of doors. The pace of the meal was kind of quick, there was not much waiting for anything. Drinks were quickly retrieved after we ordered them. For my entrée I chose their Shrimp & Scallops Linguine Alla Vodka, which came with a soup or salad. My side salad and some bread were dropped off within a couple of minutes, the entrée arrived even before I had finished that salad, yet we didn't feel like we were being rushed. The salad with their house dressing was good sized and really good, with enough different ingredients included to make it much better than your typical side salad. Two thumbs up for the bread dipping oil. My entrée could have been great, it was a large plate of food, lots of linguine and had several large fresh shrimps and scallops. Looked great, but it was missing something. I mentioned to my dining companion there wasn't much sauce, and I began to realize there also wasn't much flavor. I was just thinking it wasn't as good as I expected, and only later it clicked with me I think my dish missed the whole Alla Vodka sauce part, like someone just missed mixing that in. We had a big group 8 people- the wait staff was excellent. We ordered fried zucchini squash, burrata mozzarella capreze salad, and fried calamari---everything was so yummy. We had not been to Carrabba's in a couple of years so when some friends suggested it we decided to give it a try. We were all very happy with the experience. Our server, Zack , was fantastic and his service was efficient, professional and very friendly . The food quality was excellent and they have a great Happy Hour . We were looking for a better steak and then switched gears to Italian. We started with the lentil soup, I had never had it before and the flavor and texture were very satisfying, just a little salty. Our salads were fresh and the oil with our bread was filled with herbs and garlic which was nice, I had hoped for warm bread though and it was cold. I ordered the Chicken Bryan and my friend had the Pork Chops with sicillian butter. My chicken was amazing. The sun dried tomato and fresh basil added great flavor to the creaminess of the goat cheese on top. The pork chops were good, not great, I did like the spicy butter add on. The asparagus was a good side to try and we left happy. I will be back to a Carrabbas after this good experience. read more

We came in for dinner on a Saturday night. The place wasn't too busy, short wait but we were sat within 10 minutes. Our server took a little bit to get to us, but she did come and get our drinks and bread out quickly. Someone else brought them out so we couldn't place our dinner order with then. A few extra minutes passed before she returned for our order. We were needing refills and were close to done with our meals before we saw her again. That is when we asked for two to go dinks, a box, and our check. We ended up having to ask a manager for those items because the server had yet again disappeared. The food was good but the dining not so much.. they seated the people before me in a nice quiet place and when I asked to be seated in the booth next to them, I was told that they weren't supposed to seat those people before me in that Booth. So I got seated lousy section and every time the person in the next booth in back of me would sit back the back of the booth would move. This made it uncomfortable. read more

The food was delicious but the minestrone soup was over seasoned with pepper as was the ceasar salads for our tastes. Cailin our server was great. Got our orders correct and was very personable. I will say she wasn't very helpful in regards to the beer menu and wouldn't give me any other beer choices other than the happy hour beers. Also she told me one of the beers was Sam Adams but failed to mention it was a seasonal. Not a big deal but informative that should be given. One final thing that put me off was I was in the restroom washing my hands and an employee in a purple shirt left the cubicle and walked right of it without washing his hands. The service was great. I want to start with that because I see a lot of weird one star reviews and reported one for bigotry. The soups are reliably amazing, ceasars delicious, steak great, mashed potatoes awesome. The Mahi was a solid "meh" which is heartbreaking being so near the water. Been in Florida over a week, eaten seafood three times and everytime, meh at best. Both quality of the fish and seasoning. The weirdest with the broccoli. I thought it tasted literally fishy. I actually spat out a bite and that ain't me babe. Broccoli is usually one of our favorite vegetables throughout the family and none of us could do a bite of it. The manager stopped by and we were honest--he said for sure he would check the batch and I felt if we were staying in town, he would have offered a voucher or something (we had already paid the bill). I didn't love that he said this was the first complaint of the day lol. He didn't say it rudely and I know it is always awkward to get complaints. But I work back of a kitchen and I know for every ridiculous one star person who complains, there are twenty who have too much social anxiety to--and I know how much vegetables in particular get scraped at the end of a meal ;) Anyway, it was really late, so theories are the broccoli was better earlier in the day, was freezer burned, or maybe something got dropped in if it's a large container? If it hadn't been late, us being tired and knowing the staff are also tired with hours more clean up to do, we would have asked at least to switch the broccoli and know they would have done it, no problem! And frankly, the portions are huge at Carrabbas, so it was a struggle to finish everything, even minus the broccoli, even with us sharing meals. read more

What happened to CARRABBA'S? It used to be a solid go to place for a decent affordable meal. Took my wife there last weekend and it was so bad I couldn't even eat my meal. First we were seated and quickly served by a waiter who looked like the grown version of the kid (Ralphie) from Christmas Story who threw down some menus and a plate of bread and oil. Came back quickly asking about drinks which were served by another person. I ordered the Rigatoni Camagnola featuring sausage and red peppers and the wife the Rigatoni Martino. What we got were two bowls of slop. If there was sausage in mine I didn't see it. Horrible. Shame Carrabbas. To top it off their drink specials were very misleading which led to a $90 meal. My wife and I do the wine and dine meals most every month but they have become VERY stingy with second pours. You would think the servers are having to pay for the extra wine. My second gripe is with the catering menu, we ordered Mezzaluna and Chicken Marsala both for 10 people for Christmas. They sent 4 loaves of bread but only 2 oil packets and about a teaspoon of seasoning, a container of parmesan cheese about 2 tablespoons. The Chicken Marsala for 10 had 10 half size pieces of flattened chicken maybe 4oz each.....These were not worth the money even though we knew they were not complete with sides. read more

I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce, salad for delivery. Comes with bread. It was delivered with just a teaspoon of sauce and less meat. No bread. I called the manager. He said I had to ask Uber for refund. I explained that wouldn't help me. Asked if I could drive there and get the sauce and bread. He said it was out of his hands and up to Uber. I asked him if I could get a coupon for future order. He said "no you have to call Uber." I asked him if this was any way to treat a veteran. He said the obligatory "thank you for your service." But he offered me absolutely nothing. If he truly appreciated my service he would have allowed me to DRIVE there for a cup of meat sauce. Shame on him. I haven't been to a Carrabba's in years as there is not one where we live, so we met a dear friend & her husband there. My chicken was delicious!! My husband's chicken parmigiana was just fair. HOWEVER the service gets a huge zero!!! Our server was actually rude!! There was hardly no one in the restaurant and there was no reason for her to rush us like she did. She was absolutely RUDE!! And I ran out of tea and she never brought more bread that we requested. She was clearing dirty dishes and hustling like crazy. She gets an F!!! read more
