    Small restaurant

This place is a winner!! We had family in town and wanted something different than seafood so we picked Italian food. We read a few reviews and thought we'd give this place a shot. Glad that we did! Everyone loved their food choices. My husband and I split a meal, which is an up charge, but I think we got a lot more than what some others got for a single serving. The restaurant is small. The people that run the place are wonderful people. They go out of their way to make you happy. Check them out!

No signage. We had to trust GPS that we were here

We have been looking for a good Italian restaurant. We saw Villa Italia and had to try it. The place doesn't have a sign on the building so we had to trust the GPS that we were here. We were the only ones that were there at 5pm. We chose our seat away from where others may sit and checked out the menu. It was next to a plexiglass partition so we could watch them folding pizza boxes and making the dough. They kneaded the dough after removing the ball of dough from a large stainless mixing bowl. They formed the crust. The dough looked soft and billowy and I bet it made a delicious crust. A few people came in for to-go orders and another couple and a single came in for dinner. All the staff wore masks making me feel comfortable about eating there. Our server was very nice. We ordered the Cozze Marinara (mussels in red sauce) for appetizer. They brought bread with a dipping sauce because we would be ordering pasta. The bread was ok but I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce. The mussels arrived shortly after. They were large and the sauce was not a regular marinara but not fully cooked tomato pieces, parsley and green onions?? I definitely did not care for them. We were not finished with the mussels when the pasta e fagioli (translated pasta and beans) came out. The soup had little pasta in it and little beans and not a tomato or tomato flavor. It had soft bacon floating in it and it was a bit spicy. Once, I removed the bacon and enjoyed the flavor. Our meals came and the lasagna had square cheese somewhat melted on top. It took me back because I expected the dark crispy edges of a good cheese melted on top. It's too bad they use a square cheese and don't broil the top because once you get to the rest of the lasagna, it was quite good. The penne with sauce and meatballs was quite good also. The entrées were the better part of the meal yet not good enough to bring me back here. Our server was very nice and service was good- though food was brought out so fast we really felt a bit rushed.

    Veal piccatta

The veal piccatta was very tasty & delicately prepared. The kind of dish that you want to linger over and enjoy. The service was very personal & quite pleasant. yes, have to mention that the focaccia bread and the dip was perfect. The bread was followed along the same lines as the main course it was light, fresh & tasty. The dip had Garlic in it & fresh herbs/spices & full of other flavors just made the mouth water for more.

We gave this out-of-the-way spot a shot curious how it would be, and we were frankly underwhelmed. When we ordered the French Fry appetizer, our server warned us that's it's fairly small and she wasn't kidding. We ended having to add a 2nd one. Pizza wasn't bad, but it was just at or below average. Service was attentive; so that's a plus.

Excellent atmosphere, wonderful service and great tasting dishes and wines. We have never been disappointed eating at this Cafe. Ordered the spaghetti; the sauce was flavorful and the homemade meat balls were tender and moist. The evening was finished with an exquisite homemade desert of Tiramisu. Along with the background music we felt transported to Italy.

So we ate it all. Lobster ravioli for me and chicken Francesse for my husband. Delicious.

Once seated, the waiter was very attentive throughout the entire meal. To start our meal, we ordered a a plate of the calamari, which were ok, maybe a bit more rubbery than I like. Side salads were brought out after, which were ok, nothing great, very basic. They also brought some tasty, warm garlic rolls/knotts with the salads. For my entree, I had a tough time deciding, there were a lot of good options on the menu, but I was really interested by the Cacio E Pepe, but it is only available as a meal for (2) which seemed a bit excessive. My brother and I decided to get it together, along with a side of sausage to add some protein to the meal. I've seen videos of pasta made with in a cheese wheel online several times, and have wanted to try it, but this has been my first opportunity. They bring out the cooked pasta, and prepare it in the cheese wheel at the table, which was an added bit of fun for the dining experience. overall it was a fun and tasty meal. Got to try something I've been wanting to for a while. One warning, the restaurant is basically just one large room, so it can get a bit loud, depending on the crowd and how busy it is. But I'd go back, and would recommend this spot to other as well.

We went with 2 - 8" pizzas instead of pasta dishes and we were both pleased with what we ordered…read more The service was excellent and we would consider going back. It's pretty far from where we live and we had to pass a lot of red lights to get there, almost an hour drive. Aside from that, we considered the prices pretty high but you get what you pay for.

The interior was in the same motif, an old school Italian restaurant that's been around for awhile. We had reservations and were sat immediately. Our server came over to our table almost immediately. He was friendly, professional and friendly and explained the menu and his recommendations. Even though the appetizers looked amazing, we opted to just order entrees as they came with a salad and pasta. We ordered 2 Chicken Parm's with a Caeser salad side and their homemade Tagliatelle pasta, Bronzino special and a Pasta (homemade linguine). I was one of the Chicken Parm's. DAMN, it was excellent! Very large portions of chicken and pasta with a tomato sauce that was absolutely one of the best I've ever had in a restaurant! It was thick, tasty and clung to the pasta and Parm. I HATE ordering pasta in a restaurant that isn't drained properly and the plate is a puddle with food sitting in it-and this WAS NOT the case! It was a big ass tasty platter of delicious food. The other plates were as large and delicious! For dessert, I had the Espresso Affogato, again DELICIOUS!!! I WILL be back to try some of the other dishes as, for me, unless they do a really good chicken parm, I won't go on!! Great job by the staff! Our table was constantly bussed, waters refilled and making sure we were satisfied.

Unfortunately, this is a one and done restaurant for me, and not one I would recommend. Sorry no…read morepictures! We were seated right away, and our server was attentive, almost a little too attentive at times that we felt rushed. The atmosphere was nice, but the restaurant is small, difficult to move around, and the lighting was darker than I prefer. We started with the fried calamari and meatballs. The calamari was good, but the meatballs were disappointing. They were about the size of golf balls which is ok but lacked flavor. For our entrees, we ordered the penne alla vodka, chicken parmesan, gnocchi, and I had the spaghetti special that was finished in a cheese wheel tableside. The presentation was fun, but the food itself just didn't live up to it. The marinara sauce across the dishes was bland, the gnocchi was forgettable, and my spaghetti portion was surprisingly small, more like an appetizer than an entrée. I almost always take leftovers home from Italian restaurants because the portions are generous and the food is rich. This time, there was nothing left because there wasn't much there to begin with. The biggest disappointment was the bread. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I expect warm, crusty Italian bread. Instead, it tasted like ordinary sliced sandwich bread. I actually like Publix bread, but that's not what I'm looking for with an Italian meal. Overall, nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. For the prices, I expected much more flavor, better portions, and a more authentic Italian experience.
