It's a small, charming café with a cozy atmosphere, featuring old-school car collectibles displayed on a shelf that add a unique touch. They also offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy your desserts surrounded by lush greenery, natural foliage, and a peaceful little waterfall pond. The service was great as well, they were friendly and welcoming and answered all my questions. suggested I definitely I ended up picking up a chocolate and hazelnut cake with an incredibly soft, spongy interior that was perfectly balanced and rich without being overwhelming. I also grabbed a single serving of the blueberry cheesecake, which was light, airy, and still decadently satisfying--definitely worth every spoonful. The rum babas were a standout: bite-sized, soaked in Jamaican rum, filled with Chantilly cream, and topped with a raspberry. So flavorful and unique--each bite was indulgent without being too heavy. And then there was the Velina cake... oh my goodness. A beautiful sponge layered with chocolate mousse and hazelnut mousse, all covered in a glossy dark chocolate glaze. I have wanted to stop by for some time. My significant other and I had a chance tonight after dinner next door. We were greeted right away, and we let one of the people working there know we wanted to take a look around as it was our first time stopping in, which was okay. The shop itself was empty. We took a look at the ice cream selection, the full cakes, and then the pastries. Everything looked really good. We decided on a chocolate trilogia pastry and a red velvet pastry to go. The transaction went well. When we got home, we ate the goodies. The trilogia was fresh and had great flavor. The red velvet, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. The cake part was dry, and the frosting was dense and had little flavor. Maybe I just ended up getting an older one, but at $8.25, I had expected a much better item. I've stopped into Carrara's in Agoura a few times and it's always such a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everything is beautifully displayed. I recently had a matcha drink there that was honestly one of the best I've had - absolutely delicious, well-balanced, and clearly made by someone who knows what they're doing. Their cannoli are excellent (perfectly crisp shell and creamy filling). I love the pistachios on one end and the chocolate chips on the other, definitely a must-try. The fruit tarts are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. You can tell the staff works hard to keep things running smoothly, even when it's busy. Let me explain On June 14th 2025, after having an amazing dinner at Two Doughs Pizza located within the same shopping plaza, we decided to walk around the Whizin Market Square to walk off our meal. Besides the multiple eateries in the Square, they also have some really fun, eclectic shops where you can find some really neat gifts and/or some really cool finds for your home. While walking through the shops... There. It. Was. Carrara's Pastries. And although I don't normally have a sweet tooth, my wife & kids Always do! So we decided to check it out. And despite my mouth not having a sweet tooth, apparently my eyes do, because as soon as my eyes saw the amazing desserts behind their glass case, I too now wanted, no needed, a dessert of my own. So after perusing their delicious selection... A Frittelle for me... A Red Velvet Cake with fresh berries for my kids... And a Tiramisù sponge cake for my wife. And if you don't think I ordered a cappuccino to go with my pastry, then you just don't know me at all! For a moment there... I felt like we were transported right back to Italy. It reminded me of this little pastry/coffee shop that we went to in Florence right near the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. Now I say, If a little pastry shop located in Agoura Hills, California can resemble a shop located in Florence, Italy approximately 7,000 miles away, I think they are doing something right. Each dessert was perfectly perfect! Not too sweet and was the perfect serving size to satisfy that sweet tooth that apparently I do have. And now, just a little over a month later, it was time to write my review for Carrara's Pastries. Here is where they got me again! Before writing my review, I looked at what Carrara's stated on their 'from the business' section on Yelp. Their sentiment, their love for what they do and their absolute appreciation for their customers is what makes them stand out from the rest. I love a mom & pop business for this very reason! They do what they do because they have a vision, and that vision is not always about just making a profit or even breaking even. It's often about sharing their passion, their craft, their specialty with the world. To this I say, Bravo to Carrara's Pastries for chasing that dream and doing it wholeheartedly with love. I absolutely love this place. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and no matter what time you stop by--day or night--they're fully stocked, and everything is freshly made. My all-time favorite treat is the shortbread cookie filled with Nutella and Rice Krispies. They are seriously addictive. The cookie dough is soft and flaky, and the generous filling of Nutella combined with the crispy texture from the Rice Krispies creates the perfect bite. I usually buy a whole box, and they stay soft for at least a week. Even though I live miles away, I'll gladly make the trip just for these cookies. They remind me so much of malasadas from Hawaii, except they are served chilled, which surprisingly, still tastes incredibly fresh!!! When malasadas cool down, you'll discover how much oil they hold! But these, THESE FRITELLEs, are none other than chef's kiss!! I've also enjoyed their mini fruit tarts and Bigne's! The bignes are similar to coco puffs from Liliha Bakery! I love coming to Carrara's to end my evening with a nice drink and something sweet to eat. Carrara's Pastries offers fantastic desserts, cookies, and hot and cold beverages. I love their hot Chai or the Tumeric Latte and usually pair it with their yummy cream puffs! They also have ready made pastries available for purchase. Everything is delicious in there! Seating is limited inside, but so far I have been lucky to find seats with my family. My only complaint is during my last 2 visits, my latte was not hot enough. My husband kindly asked the person working there--who might have been the manager--to clean off an outdoor table that was visibly dirty with leftover food, dishes, silverware, and napkins. The staff member came out with a tray and removed most of the items, but left behind a dirty napkin and spoon and didn't wipe the table. We assumed he would return to finish the job, but instead, we noticed him standing behind the counter. My husband went back inside and politely asked if the table could be wiped properly. The staff member returned and gave the table a very quick wipe down the center. When he started walking away, I stopped him and asked if he could clean the rest of the table, including the area in front of us. At that point, he did wipe the entire surface. While we were disappointed by the lack of attentiveness, we didn't let it overshadow the quality of the pastries, which were quite good.
