I usually go to the Margaritas location near Hwy 16 & 485, which has a great vibe--upbeat music, younger crowd, and consistently good food. Since the Denver, NC location is closer, I decided to try it instead, and it was a big disappointment. The atmosphere was completely different: very quiet, nearly empty, low energy, and the staff seemed disengaged. I stood at the "please wait to be seated" sign for a few minutes without being acknowledged, and when a waiter finally came over, he acted annoyed--as if I was doing something wrong by waiting where the sign told me to. The food came out quickly, but the quality wasn't even close to what I'm used to. I ordered quesabirria tacos, which I had recently at the other location and couldn't stop thinking about. This version was missing the dipping consommé entirely and came with a bland onion-and-cilantro water instead. The tacos looked similar but clearly weren't prepared the same way, and the flavor just wasn't there. To top it off, the waiter claimed this was the "better location," which made the experience even more frustrating. Between the weak atmosphere, awkward service, and disappointing food, this location doesn't live up to the others. I won't be back to this one. read more

This was the second time I ordered from this location. And for the second time, I was handed the wrong order. They claimed I took the wrong order, but they gave me the wrong order. My order was sitting up there, but I feel like a DoorDash person took it. I got all the way home and realized I had the wrong order and how to go back. They also charged me for chips, even though I had three full orders and ordered a queso. On top of that, the quality of the food has severely gone down and it's not great. Rio 150 is definitely a lot better. It's too bad. It's not one in the area. I also woke up the next morning and was sick to my stomach from something I ate. I knew about this place because I sometimes go to bagel store in same shopping center. This experience is from a few months ago. I took my son and he loved it! The waiter was also very cool, and the atmosphere was right on the money. I did make one mistake though... After finishing my three fajitas, I ate two more. I didn't get sick but it was gluttonous, which is very rare for me. Felt heavy and tired. If I had stopped at three fajitas, I would have been feeling great. Stumbled on this spot after visiting friends who moved into the area and glad we did! Food is consistently good with generous portions very well seasoned too! I usually get carnita or shrimp tacos like em both Hubby sticks with shrimp and fish tacos oddly I especially like their chips as their super crisp and ever so slightly salted and the fresh house made salsa is delicious The place is large with lots of seating - they offer a patio and all the staff is very friendly! The menu is what they call market rate so there's a risk the price may jog based on cost of goods but so it's been stable each time we visit Their margaritas are HUGE! Our food came out, she only drank half of her drink ate half of her food and she was lightheaded, ready to pass out. We never left the table at all, either one of us, ended up having to take her to the emergency room and they said that she was slipped a roofie. My wife doesn't like Mexican Cuisine so just me this time. She goes to Pittsburgh several times a year to visit her daughter and three granddaughters and that is my time to explore and experience some other Cuisines. Tried Margaritas about a week ago and it was very good. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and well appointed. Service is very good and the quality of the food is excellent. Started with the perfunctory chip and salsa and they were excellent. The tortilla chips were nice and warm and the salsa had a bit of heat to it but not overpowering. For my main course, I had the quesadilla fajita and it was excellent. The refried beans are excellent as well. Drinks are very good. The bar looks like a pleasant area to sit it as well if you did not get table service. I will be back probably in June when she goes back to Pittsburgh for one of her Granddaughter's HS Graduation. read more

I've only tried the place a couple times and that was quite some time ago...well recently I guess I was reminded why I haven't went back. The chips and salsa is fine (seriously pretty hard to mess that up). I do recall the service being good and friendly and recently it should've been because they were not that busy; which tells me there should have been extra time making sure my meal was enjoyable. So I went with a no-brainer order, chicken and steak fajitas. The plate with the protein was dominated by cooked peppers and massive chunks of onion and I would've been ok with that IF THERE WAS ACTUALLY MORE THAN A FEW BITES OF PROTEIN. The chicken and steak were mini strings of fatty meat as well. The condiments plate was pitiful. So I suppose I paid $20+tip to realize I probably won't return. read more

Please wear comfortable shoes... I almost slipped and fell in this restaurant, if it wasn't for my boyfriends super fast reflexes I would have hit my head on that tile floor. He caught me half way down from a greasy floor spot that hadn't been totally cleaned. We were a big party of at least 10 people so we were sat in the back and our server was able to get us our drink orders and food orders without any errors. The only thing that could have been better was that my boyfriends meal arrived 10 minutes after the rest of the table so he was eating last, which kind of sucks because he paid for the entire meal for the entire table. The food had some authentic sauces and the rice had good flavor, the proteins looked delicious and mine were marinated and cooked well. The pinto beans were bland, the guacamole was bland, the Chile Relleno was deflated and greasy but at least the cheese inside was the right kind. All the margaritas tasted great and the whole table was happy and full and worked for our night but I would t go out of my way to come back due to the inconsistency of the flavor of some of the basics and basically almost getting hurt. read more

Stopped in for lunch with my wife. Ordered lunch specials and margaritas; spicy mango and regular mango. Drinks were great! Guacamole was average; was more whipped than normal mix, and was creamy. I like it with more onion and chunks. The fajita quesadillas (steak) had great flavoring (I finished my wife's portions). I had a burrito/taco combo. The ground beef had no seasoning at all and bland. Which was a shame because the cheese was good and the rice was also good (was not dry like some other restaurants). Unfortunately cannot rate the food because we never received any. Visited on a Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving, party of 3, were seated. The restaurant was busy but not full with open tables. After ordering, we waited an hour and received no food. No one was at the front desk so I tracked down a bus boy who found our waiter. When he came to our table and we asked where our food was, he shrugged, looked toward the back And said. "They're busy. " We left. Such an unpleasant experience. And the menu only had a few prices - everything is listed as Market Price. What? It's a Mexican restaurant and not fine dining. Can only comment on the chips and salsa - dry chips and watery salsa. If you're a Denver local or frequent the area, you probably heard mixed reviews of Margaritas during their startup. I also experienced everything from extraordinary to not-so-great in my first few visits. However, it now seems like Margaritas is consistently hitting stride and has become one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. There's a section of the menu dedicated to margaritas, which is always my first stop. It's divided into three categories: good, better, and best. My favorites are the better Texas margarita and the best la Tradicional. I'm kind of a traditionalist when it comes to margaritas, but they have a ton of options for those who aren't. They are usually nice and strong and go well with an order of queso fundido dip. Warning: the queso fundido is freaking good. If you're like me and have zero self control when cheese dip is sitting in front of you, have someone prepared to pry it away from you. I went with the Texas fajitas during my last visit, which comes with chicken, steak, and shrimp. My girlfriend and I actually shared it as the portion is big enough for about 6-7 fajitas (ask for extra tortillas if you share)! The salsa that comes with the chips when you sit down is unique and tasty with just the right amount of spice. I recommend putting some on your fajitas if you go that route. The rice and beans on the side were also tasty. Margaritas has struggled with service in the past, but our server was excellent - extremely polite and very responsive. She was also great at making recommendations and answering questions about the menu. We had a large, somewhat needy, party and she was patient with us throughout our visit. Margaritas is always at the top of my list when I visit Denver and at this point is probably the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Put it at the top of your list for your next night out, and don't forget to treat yourself to a margarita (and queso fundido)! read more

We had high hopes for this place but it really disappointed. The place was not very busy and seemed well staffed but it took over 30 minutes for us to get our food. Usually I'll let that slide when everything else was good but the food here was just sad. The salsa had little flavor, the beef in the tacos was completely unseasoned and the fajita burrito was 80- 90% peppers and onions and almost no meat. While everything seemed fresh I just really want flavor in my food - and meat. We are going to find somewhere else for Mexican food read more

We hadn't been in a while and decided to go. We had four adults and three children. Our server, Adan, was rushed from the time he came to the table to take drink orders. Just seemed generally inconvenienced to be taking our orders. We ordered three kids beef quesadilla meals for the kids and one needed to be on a corn tortilla. We waited a long time for the food. When we got our food, we were missing the kids' food and one adult meal. When they did bring the kids', they were all flour tortillas and one was chicken. It took THREE times of them brining back the chicken one for it to actually be beef. Adan told my husband he accidentally put it in incorrectly. My husband was very nice and gracious but it was frustrating that our kids sat there without food for that long. Once we paid the bill, Adan came back over and started taking plates saying repeatedly "excuse me guys, I'm just getting ready for the next table". While he's doing this, my three year old is still trying to take bites of his food...which he DID NOT get until after halfway through the rest of us eating. If they're in such a rush to "get ready for the next table", maybe they should get the correct food on the table in a timely manner. We won't be back after this experience. read more

We took a place at the bar to shorten our wait a little. Had the tacos de carnitas and the tacos queso birria; they both came with flavorful beans and rice. We enjoyed both entrees, and had margheritas as well, of course. The bartender gave us a sample of another he'd made. Wow!
