What a treasure! Found this place by chance and am so glad I did! Made a reservation online and then had to change it and Christine was very accommodating. The tea selection is very broad, as is the lunch menu. The food was amazing. Everything is homemade and delicious! This is my absolutely most favorite restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing. I have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The Monte Cristo sandwiches are to die for. I have had lunch here and the high tea. I prefer the high tea because you get such a wonderful variety of foods. The owner, Christine, is friendly and very attentive and goes out of her way to make sure that each customer is happy. The place setting and individual tea cups are unique. Located on Main St. in Elizabeth is this adorable tea room. The inside feels super cozy with multiple separate rooms with tables. You'll feel like you're at your grandma's place. We came for a high tea for Mother's Day and has a wonderful time. The have an amazing tea selection and it was picking just which tea to drink. Then the food came and everything was delicious and made with so much care. I'm glad to know this place is here. It would be a great place for birthdays or any kind of shower. read more

Every year for my niece and my birthday we do a new tea place. We have been to Glen Erie, brown palace, manitou springs castle, Denver and littelton. None of them compared to this Carriage Tea Room! We were there in June for full tea as a birthday celebration (7 of us). It was amazing - so many tea choices. The food we were served was abundant (we all had take home boxes. Opening course was choice of a mushroom bisque or a strawberry salad. Best mushroom soup I've ever eaten. The items offered: quiche, scones, croque monsieur, stuffed mushrooms, some cookies (and can't remember what else as so much food) were all so good. Also had chicken salad croissants and chicken salad was amazing. Service was great. Very attentive in filling water and checking on us. Super friendly. My daughter, grand daughter and myself so enjoyed the beautifully decorated rooms, vast array of teas, & the exceptional high tea served by Christine the owner. Christine makes everything so authentic and fabulous tasting it is a must destination for any time of year. My girlfriends and I drive from Colorado Springs, and enjoy a fabulous tea for our lunch and then spend the afternoon shopping at the shops along Main St. So fun! The food at the Carriage Shoppes Tea room was fabulous. All 3 of us ordered something different and we all loved our meal. I noticed how fresh everything was. My croissant was fresh out of the oven. The chicken salad was pure heaven. It was also so much fun to shop immediately after in the Carriage Shoppes for antiques and gifts. The building is a historic barn which just added to the ambiance. The current owners have made the tearoom in Elizabeth wonderful again! No wonder. They used to own a B&B and it shows. Great place for lunch or afternoon tea with your girlfriends, date, or couples dining together. Good food, pleasant service, cozy and charming "tearoom" ambiance with lace curtains and antiques. Of course there's a nice selection of teas. Next door, in the same building is a wonderful antique shop. Allow time before or after tea to wander through the shop.
