We have been customers at Hideaway for many, many years--probably since they opened--dining there with young kids, adults, elderly family members, dogs, etc., at times. It's been our casual and fun go-to spot for a great brunch, lunch, or dinner to enjoy time together or watch a game! We know and enjoy good food and hope it will always be around! The owners are wonderful, and the staff they hire reflect that. Beyond that, what really matters to us, at least, is great food--and Hideaway delivers every time. With the ever-growing Castle Rock food scene, we admit we've strayed from time to time depending on what we're looking for (fine dining, etc.), but we always come back to Hideaway when we want consistently good food, friendly staff, and welcoming owners. We've never had a bad meal. Unfortunately, that's hard to say about other comparable places in the area we have tried (but to each their own). Best onion rings we've tried anywhere (chicken tenders, fish tacos, burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, the Hideaway Signature Pasta--the list goes on), but honestly, everything on the menu we've ordered has been delicious, and every time we go, it takes us a while to decide since everything is so good! Great casual spot for drinks & comfort food! My wife and I have been here several times and always enjoyed our meal experience. I had a pulled pork sandwich this time, which was excellent, and made the "right" way, with cole slaw on top of the pork, all inside a soft bun. The potatoes were creamy and garlicky, with gravy too. My wife loved her signature penne with the chicken, zucchini, mushrooms enhanced by a delicious sauce made with brie and parmesan, plus tasty garlic bread. She also loves that she will gets two meals out of it - very large portion! Service was very good with attention and smiles by our waiter Chris - the ambiance is always friendly and comfortable, with lots of TVs if you want to watch sports, and always plenty of parking. Came in on a Sunday to watch football and have brunch with my wife and local friends. The establishment wasn't overly busy so we were seated immediately by the friendly server who took our mimosa orders before returning to take food orders. There are multiple TVs everywhere allowing sports fans the option of finding where they want to sit to watch their teams. Admittedly, I was a bit of a pain in the butt when I asked for a couple of changes to my breakfast burrito order, but the server was more than happy to help accommodate what I was asking for. The portion sizes were extremely generous, especially for the more than reasonable prices, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food...and maybe another mimosa or two. Have only been here once when visiting from out of town so take that into consideration. Service was good , food mediocre . Maybe I ordered the wrong thing ( French dip with fries ) or caught them on a bad day. With hesitation, we decided to visit here again, even though a few years ago we were less than impressed. Now I remember why we havent come back. Server was mediocre, I asked about the drink specials and decided to order the margarita she described, a mango and jalapeño marg. Was then served a plain margarita with sour mix. Asked if this was correct...she didnt seem to know. Took the drink and came out with a margarita that clearly had mango in it, yet no jalapeño. OH well, I'll give it a shot. Wasn't terrible. But also ,not great...like the food. Burgers were blah. Having finished nearly half my margarita, discovered a large black hair floating towards the bottom of the glass. Just about lost the crappy burger I had eaten. It smells like sewer inside and outside the restaurant...seems to explain the theme of the place. Nasty! read more

If you're looking for classic buffalo wings, then these are the best I've had in a long time. They put the wing places to shame. Absolutely delicious! And the fish and chips were amazing! Yeah overall just a good experience and we will come back for sure. Ordered the queso dip and it was so great. Would've used the spoon to finish it off. Potato Skins were really good too. I got the Monte Cristo sandwich and the crust and fry out the outside was solid. Buffalo Chicken sandwich was okay...lots of buffalo sauce so wasn't a fan since it was drenched in it. Taco salad is BIG....I should've shared that with my wife and it would've been enough for us. It was super great. Service was awesome....very attentive, cleared dishes off quickly which kept the meal cozy vs. a cluttered table (see my other posts...it's me being picky but I really don't dig lots of empty cups on the table). I've wanted to try this place since first moving to Colorado 15 years ago. Our server, Brittany, was so helpful and kind regarding my dietary needs and restrictions. And while the service itself was speedy, the price per plate was not quite proportionate to the amount of food received. My salad came on a child's plate, so it was quite small for the cost. A party of three can roughly expect an $80 tab total, which seems high given the low quality ingredients and overall lack of fare freshness. Half of the avocado on my salad was brown when flipped over, and the hard boiled egg appeared old and discolored, with no flavor. The bathroom was clean and spacious enough, but inconveniently housed a single empty soap canister at the sink when exiting. There's ample parking outside, but the bar interior is dark with loud music that makes comfortable conversation difficult, even in a corner booth. In terms of bang for your buck, you'd probably be better off trying somewhere else. We won't be back again. read more

Maybe one of my hardest days after saying goodbye to my 12 yr old German Shepherd... we needed to escape and just go for a drive and we headed north... Along the way we turned towards Castle Rock and I asked Siri where was the closest bar...Hideaway popped up... So we drove to the Hideaway for a beer and a quick bite. We arrived and it was a nice surprise! Definitely hidden away behind either construction of condos or an apartment building. We picked where we sat and we ordered a tall peach beer which was perfect and icy cold... our server Natalie was outstanding! Friendly, attentive and polite - she knew the menu as we were curious about the baked jalapeno poppers. We ordered them with crisp bacon and they did not disappoint! I loved the cheese and the bacon topping. They were really tasty and so nice to not order a frozen popper that all they did was put in a fryer. Our side order of fries were great and then we picked a half of a Monte Cristo sandwich to share which was awesome. The raspberry preserves were ok but the sandwich was as advertised and delivered - hot cheesy gooey with delicious ham. The coating was crunchy and the flavors melded perfectly. The side of their house salad was also great we loved the small diced tomatoes! We will definitely attempt that at home. We saw many food items being taken to different tables and all looked remarkable. We know we will be back again to try their BLT or their wings. The atmosphere was definitely like a hideaway bar. Very laid back with lower lighting but could still easily see and read the menu. Our waiter, Caleb was great and checked on us frequently and made suggestions. The chili fries were delicious as were the burgers and sides. The only thing I could say could be improved upon is fresh instead of canned mushrooms but that personal preference. The burgers were seasoned well and had great flavor. The service was probably the best part of our experience which always makes me want to come back to a place. Our server was super awesome, attentive, kinda, and accommodating. This is going to sound very strange... but as others have stated, it actually happened. We had a table reserved for trivia last night -- a group of eight. We are mostly comprised of retirees (some still work) who love the social and intellectual challenge of trivia. We started going to the Hideaway in Castle Rock three weeks ago -- in fact our team won the first two competitions. I mention this because we are not a bunch of rabble rousers or loud drunks. We are respectful, friendly, order food and drinks, tipped well, friendly and appreciative to the staff. In other words -- we are the ideal customers. We had confirmed reservations for a table last night. In fact, the restaurant called me an hour before our reservation to re-confirm -- which I did. As we showed up, we ran into a friend from another team in the parking lot. We were surprised to learn that his team of 12, which had been participating in trivia for two years had been told that they were no longer welcome at the restaurant, and they were told to leave the premise. While we were talking -- the Castle Rock police arrived. They went into the restaurant, then came out, and politely told us we had to vacate the property (and I want to emphasize that the officers were polite and professional at all times). I explained to the officers that we were a different group, and that we had a reservation. I, with two of the officers, went inside to confirm that my group was "OK" since we had the confirmed reservation. Initially, the owner acknowledged that we could be seated. But then he asked if that was our group outside talking to the other group -- I said yes, because we knew them, but that we were in-fact a separate group. He then -- without explanation, said that we would have to go too (guilt by association???). We stayed long enough to let others in our group (who were still showing up) know that trivia was cancelled, and left without incident. Later, when our final member showed up at the restaurant, he was initially seated, but then told by the owner that we had cancelled our reservations. We were all quite dumbfounded why this establishment would act in this way. We had previously enjoyed are experience at the Hideaway, but obviously we will never patronize them again. Our social group actually extends to nearly 100 local residents, and this experience has been shared with them. read more
