I don't know what anything costs here because I just hand over my cc because they know just the way to make me smile every time I walk in with an unorganized heap of clothes and even more so when I walk out with a neatly pressed plastic-wrapped wardrobe. The customer service is unparalleled. They know my name and my phone number by heart and even though I don't live in the SCV any longer, that doesn't mean I don't go out of my way to bring them my dry cleaning every time I am in the hood. I would feel like a cheaty mccheaterson if I were to take it anywhere else. I have even used their seamstress services on more than one occasion (prom dress in high school and a pair of jeans a couple years back), because I trust them with my fashions more than any other place on earth. Take your time to read, I never write this much expect its worth it: Ok, I have a really big problem with perfectionism, because I spend a lot on my clothing and I can't watch a $100 dress go down the drain after 3 washes. I wash as little as $400 a month or bimonthly and I will say I am not a regular customer, perhaps its time to open my own Goodwill. That being said, I used to dry-clean my clothes at Darling on Via Princess and I walked in there after 4 weeks of the last pick up with her to find out; she sold the business. I requested to speak with the new owner trusting that it will be a good transition, and told them there is no room for errors as my clothes are not cheap and with a bill of almost $500 for up to 70 pieces you can't mess with my clothes. They promised heaven on earth. Foolishly, I believed. Long story short all my 70 clothes were ruined, non was dry-cleaned, all faded and lost the quality and firmness. Sweaters got loosen, buttons got lost, embellishes removed, clothes ripped, and worse of all not ironed. The white coats turned almost brown and I was really mad. I managed to get about 17 pieces and took those clothes to Darling in west hills (as agreed with the new owner to be paid for to get them re-clean as I refused them touching my clothes ever again). First darling agreed to fix them, she later called me the next day (after drop off) and refused to fix them because she claimed she had a problem with the new owner (red flag). I was mad that Darling could not acknowledge my loyalty and patronage for more than 5 years, she told me to come back and take my clothes or she will drop them off at the new owner, (she's lucky that didn't happen). So I went back took my clothes from her. I started to look around for another good cleaner on yelp in SCV. I took 1 white coat to the one in the same plaza as the library beside Dominoes and thank goodness I didn't give her more than 1, same crap. So I dropped of 16 pieces with Carriage with the hope that It will get better. No promises by carriage except "we will do our best". I wasn't expecting much either because my clothes were ruined. Well Carriage brought back my clothes alive, they finally gave me hope again, and I say bye bye Darling and all the other mediocre cleaners in the neighborhood. Not only that, the price is way better and it was available as promised. I will keep them, I hope we have a great business together from now on. Thank you Carriage, great customer service as well. New Darling owner is an awesome guy, he just happens to have an "enemy-friend" who does the washing in Acton probably using the same washer and dryer at my house that I use for towels. read more

So sad I used to love this place and the seamstress/alterations lady was the best but for some reason every time I bring stuff in she says she can't do the job. The only reason I continue to come after moving to Santa Monica is because she used to do all my alterations the way I asked I just had to bring a sample. Very long overdue review advising customers to seek other dry cleaners. I agree with the dissatisfied reviewers who have rated this business one - three stars. Staff/owners will quickly and rudely insist that any misfortune with your clothes is always the fault of the customer. I'm sincerely shocked they are still in business and the establishment still conducts in this manner. My first visit was certainly my last. Soon as came home and took off the plastic protectors from three silk items that I trusted in their care, I observed on one of the items (blouse) a drip mark from some type of chemical they used. I recall going back the next morning before work with the (only one) blouse to ask if they would clean it once more. Rather than exercising business etiquette to keep their customer coming back, the experience was a battle of wits. Obviously, the end result was walking out with the damaged blouse - no polite acknowledgment, no attempt to keep a customer's business, and no apologies. Wish I could reverse time or had listened to the reviews. read more

This place is the best. Great costumer service, the people here are amazing, and I just can't imagine going to any other place. The people are hard working and kind. The boss is experienced and has been working there almost since the beginning. The seamstress is kind and especially hardworking, trying to seam everything together with a strict deadline can't be easy. Have lived in the area for 18+ years and this was the first time I was ever in here. Needed a new zipper put on a favorite winter coat so dropped by to see what the cost might be. Very nice lady at the front desk (didn't get her name) said it would be $15 to put on a new hook so I left it and when I came by the next morning to pick it up they said it would only be $5. They easily could have taken my $15 as that is what I expected and agreed on. Who is so honest these days? That was enough to get me to come back home and leave a quick review. read more

Leon is the best! I've been coming here for years with my business suits and I always get them when I need them! They say they don't replace buttons if list, however Leon replaced buttons for me that were probably worn and fell off during the process. They say they charge to replace a button that was on the suit before they cleaned it. Leon replaced them at no charge! What a class guy! He even spent time looking for the buttons to match perfectly. Flare Cleaners will charge you, but Leon won't if your nice when bringing it up. A very nice, we'll established family owned business. Everything done on premises and done right. We have been taking our dry cleaning here for almost a year now after being referred by my father-in-law. After experiencing consistent quality customer service, I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are realistic about their timing and straight forward with their pricing. Everyone who works there wears a smile when I come in and all of my garments are prim and proper when I pick them up. They have repaired a couple of suit pants for us which have stood the test of time! I have used this cleaners on and off for several years, because I want a place that is not too far from home. I have asked them repeatedly to press the shirts so that they will have a crease on the sleeve and they have not complied. They have also lost buttons on some of the shirts I bring in. Usually the lady that helps at the front desk is very nice and friendly, however on my last visit, the owner was there. I voiced my concerns to her about the creases and buttons and asked if they could please be careful. Instead of acknowledging my request she got defensive, and said that they dont lose buttons and in the same breath said that if they did it was my fault because they were probably loose. I think small business owners, need to realize that customer service goes a long way with customers, and acknowledging a mistake and taking proper steps to correct it is what most customers want. We all make mistakes, however how we address them is what matters. read more
