The staff here is so great, even when they are busy the girls at the front desk have a smile on their face. Hector and Alex took care of my Camry in getting my windshield and sunroof replaced as well as taking care of some paint work on the front bumper. They kept me in the loop on the process. I can't recommend this place enough. I've been looking for a reliable fair place, and now I'm not going to take my car anywhere else.

After my car was vandalized I took it to Carillos at the suggestion of someone who'd been there before. It was always really easy to connect with someone, have my questions answered and all communication was met with friendly individuals. Alex was kind, attentive and honest. He provided realistic timelines and very responsive to communication. I got my car back and it looks perfect and probably even better than it was before the incident. Not that I want something like this to ever happen again but I'd definitely go back here for any body work needed.

Do not hesitate to use Carrillo's Auto Body Shop in La Mesa! They have a great reputation. However, if you're interested in why I only gave them 3 stars, when I'm usually a 5-star-giver, read on. SITUATION: I backed into a metal pole at the Shandon Rest Area on Hwy 46 in Central California. Crunched the spoiler on our 2011 Lexus ES350. I could have lived with the damage, since the damage to the trunk was barely perceptible to the naked eye, and I had touched up the white cracks in the spoiler with grey touchup paint so it was less noticeable. However, my wife wanted it repaired so it looked like it did before. A reasonable request. WHY THEY ARE GREAT: They were an immediate recommendation by our beloved repair shop. Staff was super friendly. The estimator (Hilder Goint) was friendly and thorough. Our AAA estimator also told us "oh, Carrillo's is a good shop" ONE OF THE BAD PARTS: When we picked up the vehicle, the cargo net was just laying loose on the trunk floor. One the anchors was missing. Had I not opened the trunk to look, they would have allowed us to drive home like that. That cargo net has always been in regular use, and was intact when we dropped it off. They did agree to order a part, and days later (I had to call them, they did not call me) we came by, and they jury-rigged it with a metal screw. Disappointing. THE WORST PART: We dropped it off on 11/15/2022 and on 11/30/2022 the repair guy Hector Rodriguez called me with the "good news" - the car was done! Only it was NOT DONE. Guess what? The spoiler, the sole reason we took the car in to be repaired, was NOT replaced. Hector proceeded to give me a fairly long explanation which included phrases such "Lexus won't sell us a new spoiler", and "don't want to drill holes in the trunk, could leak" and "if you find a spoiler shop on your own, maybe they can do it". REALLY? After all this time, with no warning ahead of time, it's "come pick up your car" and yet there is no spoiler? I can definitely understand, from a business point of view, that since it's an insurance claim, it makes good financial sense for the repair shop to "fix the car", get the deductible payment, the insurance payment, oh and so as not to mess any of that up, keep the "can't replace spoiler" news secret until it's time to pick it up. Thus my 3-star rating, when oh how I had expected to rate this "fine shop" with five. Don't hesitate to go to Carrillo's - but I would recommend leaving nothing to chance, and being on them pretty thorough, repeatedly asking them "are you sure you can get the parts needed?" and "Will you be able to restore the vehicle to it's original appearance?" and "again, are you sure about the parts?"

I had my 5 series BMW worked on and Hector and the crew did an awesome job. Carrillo's Auto Body Shop in Parkway drive has got to be the best in San Diego. The communication was impeccable. Work was done on time and It came back looking perfect. Just amazing, thanks guys. Kevin :)

I noticed a concerning noise when driving my car on the highway last week and called a mechanic to set up an appointment. The mechanic quickly identified that the issue was an auto body issue, not a mechanical issue, and I didn't know where to start in finding an auto body shop. Carrillo's was on my way home from the mechanic and they were able to look at my car within minutes and provide a quote. They ordered the necessary parts and asked me to drop my car off the following week. Within a few days I had an entirely new bumper that had been painted to perfectly match my car. The noise is gone and I am satisfied with both the time and price of the repair. I would recommend Carrillo's to anyone!

So my 2015 Corolla started chipping paint and carillos was more then happy to take it in and fix it up for me. They were not only VERY nice, but also did it very quickly. Tyler is just AMAZING! He explained the process before hand and kept me updated while they had my car. I highly recommend!

By the way, this is a second review despite it showing it linked to a review a few years back. Different trucks and different work. Needed my 2008 GX470's OEM front bumper reinstalled after the truck had been fitted with a custom off-road high clearance version. SSCP ordered the needed parts as items such as front bumper brackets and fasteners were forever lost. They even fabricated (at no additional cost) two small attachment points as portions of the truck were cut during the off-road bumper install. Truck looks great, they communicated the few deviations from a completely stock fit, specifically that the fender liners, due to oversized tires, could not be installed all the way at this time and the cut liners remain. These can be replaced and fit to stock should I go back to stock size wheels and tires. Car was delivered! Car was cleaned / detailed! Both unexpected perks when I first chose to have them do the work. Price was very fair given the ask and I recommend this shop for your car repair needs. Should this or one of my other cars/trucks need attention, I will not hesitate to contact them. Thank you SSCP.

1. Manager, Matt, and Service Writer, Trevor, were not on the same page which resulted in a "bait &…read moreswitch" situation involving my initial estimate and drop off. 2. Service Writer spoke down about manager repeatedly and said "don't listen to him" when confronted about situation #1. 3. Service Writer became threatening during situation #2 and said he would be "buttoning" up the car so I can take it elsewhere. 4. Service writer did not adequately communicate timelines. He would repeatedly tell me to pick up tomorrow, then tell me there was a delay. This occurred for 10 days. 5. Service Writer then quit communicating and responding to my texts, which was the preferred method of communication as stated by the shop. So a phone call ensued. 6. Phone call in situation #5 was for an update on picking up my vehicle. Service writer states fuses are blown (something unrelated to what we brought the vehicle in for). Tells me my car is old and it was a problem when we brought it in (vehicle is maintained with service records in a family that owns an automotive shop). I ask questions, service writer starts laughing at me. 7. As a result of situation #6, service writer informs me it looks like they'll have my car for longer and "will be in touch whenever it's ready". 8. I report situation #7 to insurance and they call the shop, twice, for an update and are hung up on or are put on hold for over 30min. This is per USAA property damage claims rep Jared Gomez. 9. Manager calls me to tells me something happened to the car and every fuse is blown. They need another few days. They refuse to let me come look at it at this point. 10. Manager drops off to my husband's mechanic shop with several issues involving acceleration. Technician runs a scantool and resets modules. Tech informs me that Caliber Collision jump started the vehicle "backwards" which resulted in fried fuses. 11. Upon entry of vehicle, we notice dashcam has been ripped from a direct-mount installation. Dashcam now is broken and requires replacement. 12. Per Bureau of Automotive Repar, it is against their laws to alter a customer vehicle without their consent. This includes the removal and uninstall of constant recording devices. Manager informed us via email it was shop policy. Manager could not provide any written literature or agreements I had signed stating that. Had the manager informed of us an existing shop policy in the beginning, the dashcam would've properly been removed. 11. Caliber collision broke a piece on my door panel during installation and tried to tape it together. Overall, we are very dissastisfied with this service and will do what we can to recommend friends and family seek another shop. I will be reporting this to the BAR.
