So far so good. We went to look at s rescue today and was quite pleased with the set up. Yes…read moreGordon is older and gruff, but he seems more of military retired person. He runs a tight ship with no bs. I will be working with him and my future rescue as a volunteer. So I will see how it goes but so far I have great hopes for the journey (: 4/5/16- I have adopted a dog from Cold Nose, I have taken her for four week training which was included in the adoption "free training for life "!! Joann was an excellent trainer. 4/22/16-4/25/16- I kept my dog at the kennels and she was happy due to the attention and exercise she got while she stayed there. I will always go to Cold Nose for future training and kenneling. If you are expecting puff ball Paris Hilton foo foo treatment you will not get it here. It is real with the people being real. Dogs are turned out to play and there is several volunteers that take the dogs for walks and playtime. All dogs are loved and well cared for at this facility.

The bill was because my dog allegedly chewed some of the dog house. Apparently, because my dog was so bored, probably because he wasn't walked enough, he had nothing else to keep him occupied. The owner of the kennel determined the wooden dog house was unsuitable for a dog to live in, and so put another dog house in the kennel, which, of course, my dog again allegedly chewed up. I had no choice to pay the fee because the owner said he would not give me my dog back until i did, plus he would keep charging me for his stay. I asked him for receipts and photos for what he did with the money and got nothing. When I looked at the dog houses, they basically looked like they were older, and I didn't notice anymore than a few teeth marks on aesthetics of the house. I think this guy scammed me into paying, and basically I couldn't do anything about it or I couldn't get my dog back. The other thing, if he was really taking care of my dog and letting him play with other dogs like his website states, which is why I chose the place, then I HIGHLY doubt my dog would not have chewed anything. He has NEVER chewed anything at my house, but that's because I walk him at least an hour a day. Bottom line: DO NOT keep your dog here if you want your dog to be well looked after, and if you do keep your dog here, expect to have added fees attached when you pick your dog up.

Courtney is sooo amazing! Not only as a trainer but also just as a person! She is so knowledgeable…read moreand so willing to help and be available. My pup (5 month old Great Dane) came back with so much discipline but still very much her silly self. And Courtney is so willing to help correct behaviors and listen once your dog has come home! She builds a foundation that it easy to maintain once they are home and you take over. Oh and my favorite part is if you follow her on IG she posts updates so you can see your babies

Even the trainer we had been seeing could not safely approach us when she was in our hands, despite having worked with her for months. Through Yelp and social media, I found another dog trainer who referred us to Courtney due to her experience owning and competing in French Ring with Belgian Malinois (if you don't know what French Ring is, look it up - it requires incredible skill and discipline). Honestly, I wish we had found her sooner! We would have saved ourselves a lot of time, money, and stress/anxiety about social situations. Courtney is an amazing trainer, and so incredibly patient. Our 1:1 lessons throughout the program were beyond helpful, and Courtney never once rushed us or made us feel silly for asking a million questions. The video updates we received throughout were also super useful to reference in order to transfer the skills and subtleties of movement and positioning to our own handling. Plus, she offers boarding services to program graduates, and hosts monthly group classes and group walks to help you maintain everything she's taught. Our maligator came back a completely different dog. We learned that her reactive behaviors were an expression of her insecurity that made her feel strong and powerful in uncomfortable situations, but that deep down, she's actually a very respectful dog - she just needed clearer communication and shown how to behave appropriately in uncomfortable scenarios. Handling her is so much easier and a lot more fun now, and on our group walk along the river, we were so impressed with how well she handled the crowded sidewalks and distractions! We also now have the peace of mind that she has a safe space for boarding where she won't lose her skills should we need to travel. I get it - dog training is expensive. But I believe every dog owner should either be committed to investing in quality dog training, or dedicating substantial time and effort to train their dog. You wouldn't have kids without sending them to school right? The same applies to dogs. And, like kids, you need to practice everyday to continually enforce the good habits and skills so that they become second nature. Of course, it's reassuring to know that Courtney is there every step of the way, and lifelong, for guidance! Owning a dog is an investment, and training is 100% worth it to establish the foundation for a fun, healthy, lifelong relationship. We cannot thank Courtney enough for helping us develop that bond with our pup. I would absolutely recommend her and Alyssa to anyone looking for quality dog training!
