I will preface this by saying I have not actually used this service. I met these people at a dog event. I was very impressed with them. Seemed like they would take great care of my dogs. I called later about boarding. They really push for you to just fill out a form. They will not give any kind of estimate. I understand that circumstances will vary, but a price range would be good. I had a contractor at my home once looking out my window and commenting "all you rich people up here." He way overcharged me and we aren't all rich. Not saying she would do this, I just like to be quoted a price range. She seems to take care of her employees and has a decent business plan. Costs to meet with them, as it should. Where she lost me was asking how long the dogs could be left alone. Well, several hours I suppose. She kinda beat around the bush then told me that all of her Nannys have full time careers. If I am working outside of the house for a full work day, I take my dogs to day care. An 8-9 hour work day and commute, leaves my dogs alone for at least 9-10 hours. How does the Nanny have time to exercise them? She also said that a Nanny can only work for one week. So, if you are gone for more than one week, you would have 2 nannies. Not a huge deal, but two different people in my home is a question mark. She ended the conversation with "fill out the online form and we will see if we have any nannies available." Didn't sound like she even wanted the business and seemed like she didn't have many nannies. I have 2 easy, older dogs, but they need daily exercise. I don't need someone with my dogs 24/7, but I would not leave them more than 6 hours at a time, so just being fed and having someone overnight, is not what I am looking for. That being said, if this works for others, they may be a great service. read more

She left my dog alone for 12hrs In a kennel I saw the hole thing on camera. I couldn't do anything I was on vacation in different state. Had to cancel my plans and return home. Amazing. Just returned from a week away to two very happy dogs who are behaving better than before we left! Our dog Ruby is hard to love because she barks and growls at strangers. We knew we couldn't take her to the kennel and so we haven't traveled in 18 months. Shannon took such great care of our dogs that Ruby has stopped aggressively barking at people when they come over and seemed happier when we returned that before we left. Shannon and Tonda updated me twice a day with adorable pictures of my pups. I finally enjoyed my time away knowing that they were in good hands. Shannon made sure my pup Maggie had her allergy pill everyday and took the time to watch tv with them before she went to school everyday! I think my dogs miss their dog mom! I can't say enough great things about this service. As anyone could imagine, leaving town for a week and entrusting the things you truly love more than humans to a stranger can create anxiety. We had been looking for an option for some time since the normal house/pet watcher moved away to college. We met with Tonda last year and immediately our concerns were lessened as all the dogs warmed up to her and so we proceeded to schedule for an upcoming trip. Unfortunately Covid-19 cancelled everything until this year. We again scheduled with Professional Dog Mom and prior to our trip met with Shannon as we wanted someone to stay at the house with the dogs and maintain the routine they were accustomed too. The dogs immediately warmed up to Shannon, even the less trusting German Shepherd. Upon leaving for our trip, obviously one wonders how it will go, Shannon sent us text updates with pictures upon arriving at the house for the evening. The dogs appeared happy, relaxed and doing their thing. We received updates a couple times a day, again with pictures, our German Shepherd was now like her best friend. As we also have a puppy added to the pack, that we crate during the day, Emma was scheduled to come by mid day for an hour to let the puppy out and check on the other dogs. We also received updates from her with pictures. Upon our return we discovered the house was immaculate, the sheets for her bed were in the dryer, it was as nice or nicer than when we left. The cost for utilizing Professional Dog Mom was very reasonable for the service received, the process throughout was easy. The only recommendation is the quote would be better if it itemized the cost with a total estimate, rather than just a simple daily cost and you figure it out. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for day care for their pets. Tonda has several options available depending on your needs. We will be using them again in the future. read more

I work in south Reno, but lived in Stead. Because of this, and activities that kept me from going home right away, my pup was in my apartment without a break for more time than I was comfortable with. After a little bit of research, I decided the contact PDM for a visit to take my pup out for a walk to help break up the day, and did not regret anything throughout the entire process. I was skeptical about this business at first. They are expensive but we needed someone fast and we are still relatively new in town so we went with Prof. Dog Mom (PDM). Wow, what service and what respect for our property. Tonda really screens and trains her people well. Our dogs were so spoiled that they could have cared less when we came home. We got daily reports with pictures and without question the dogs got a walk every day. The house was pristine when we came home and, as promised, the dog sitter had not been in the Master Bedroom or made use of any of the many amenities associated with the house. The sitter just focused on the dogs. So we used PDM again for a month-long vacation with the same result. They are worth every penny of their daily rate! Both times we have used them, we have had unusual emergencies at the house and one time we had a health emergency with one of our dogs. If you're tired of having to rely on just one or two individual people for your pet-sitting needs, and feeling anxious about their availability and scheduling months in advance, PDM is for you. We are SO grateful to have found Tonda and her company of well-trained, dedicated K9 nannies. We have high-maintenance pets and so it's especially important to us that their caretakers "know what they're doing." The PDM nannies definitely fit the bill. And they are great about keeping us informed while we're away, with lots of texts and adorable pics. They are so respectful of our home that we can't even tell anyone has been here after they've left. We are very particular when it comes to our four legged children. After exhausting the typical sitters we found Professional Dog Mom. Together we set a two hour alone interval and overnight stays for a period of eight days. When we got home our dogs ignored us. They were totally pampered, exercised and relaxed. Tonda and her team left the house cleaner than when we left. Checking with the neighbors, there were no issues. I would highly recommend this firm. My big, fluffy dog fell in love with Tonda the minute he met her in Philadelphia just prior to her move to NV. Whenever he saw her -his entire butt wagged happily and he pawed at her front door after he found out where she lived.
