I had some antique silverware and jewelry that I to sell so I went to Martinsburg Gold buyers. When I walked in I was greeted by a lovely lady who started going through the small box of my fathers belongings. At another desk a man had a pile of coins that he seemed to be researching. I told him about the coins I found and he told me to bring them in and he would give me a free appraisal. I was clueless to what I had but "Mayan" stopped what he was doing and spent 30 minutes going through each piece one by one. I could see the passion in his eyes as he explained what each coin was and the approximate value. He wasn't just adding up numbers he was explaining history to me. A history that my father lived and obviously cherished by the pieces he collected. I asked him what he would offer me for everything and he told me he would love to make me an offer but recommended I should take the coins home, sleep on it and make sure this was something I wanted to sell. It was a lovely gesture but I had already decided daddy's coins belonged in this man's shop. It turned out this box of "junk" was worth over $10,000. I was so excited I almost forgot about the jewelry and silverware I handed to the young lady when I first walked in. Mayan and his assistant changed my life in ways they will never know. I walked in that door hoping to make a couple hundred bucks and walked out with not only a ton of money, but with a newfound appreciation for my father. Thank you Martinsburg Gold buyers.

My mom has known the owners for more than 25 years. We only go there for any repairs. I took my mom's Movado watch in for a new battery. This is the first battery it's ever needed. The grandson reluctantly changed the battery and handed the watch back to me without even setting the time. And for some reason a piece of dust just appeared on the face of the watch that wasn't there before he opened it. He claimed that the dust was already there. I knew it certainly was not. Then he claimed that sometimes dust shows up when a watch is opened. Ok, then get it out! The smug twits don't offer to get the dust out or do anything to address my concern. I'm still kind to them because the owners wife is there and now she realizes that she knows my mother. She tells me that the battery is free of charge. I don't care about the battery charge, I want the watch returned looking the same way in which it was presented. Unfortunately I'll need to take the watch to a real jeweler now because the service at Gold Thumb is now trash.

The necklace was to be shortened from the back!! Instead he took the necklace and made it shorter from the FRONT!! Now the loops look completely wonky and unattractive. The loops are not smooth and the nameplate just lifts up while I'm wearing it. When I took it back for them to look at it the male was extremely rude to me and tried to blame the mistake on my previous jeweler. I have attached photos of his shoddy work. When I tried calling this business no one would get back to me. After several additional tries I finally talked to someone at the store about my problem. The clerk told me to call back in May of 2024, which is now almost a year after the watch was supposedly fixed, because the owner had health issues. When I tried calling again in May, once again no one had the courtesy of getting back to me. If you want your watch repaired, don't go to this business. They only want your money and could care less about trying to work with you.
