I'm done trying to figure out the ever-changing rules that only apply randomly. Really, really frustrating! The pool itself is great, but the staff are inconsistent with policies. There have been many examples in the last year, but here is today's. For instance, it's ok for a toddler to be in a bikini, but my child can't wear a more modest leotard, because it's "not technically swimwear". What's the difference? It's the same shape and they both have spandex. How can you logically distinguish between the two. I'd like my daughter to be more appropriately covered. I understand they don't want someone showing up in cut-offs and a t-shirt, but can we have some standards and allowances for modesty as well. I won't be back, and I'll be spreading the word. There are other pools in the area. I highly suggest you choose one of them instead. read more

I started going here last year do the water aerobic classes and it is a very nice swim center. The only itty bitty issue I have is the crabby lady at the front check in area. I'm from LA, but I didn't want to go all street on her so I just come in with a smile and after a while she became a bit friendlier. I'm good with that! read more

Did Carson Valley Swim Center forget that they are largely tax payer funded????? I guess if they already have some of our money and they are the only pool in town that means that they can pick on any one that they want to. I pay taxes....and I am a responsible 26 year old just trying to get my 7 month old some water therapy. I don't have a child who is going to splash around, yell, or bother anybody. This swim center is amazing! We drive from Carson to come to this community pool. It's so much more fun, kid friendly. Nicer staff, better snacks, better activities. Balls and flotatiion allowed .snack bar a party room. It is worth the drive! read more

Great indoor option for swimming and playing. Lifeguards are efficient and polite. I do wish that permission to use the slides was based on swimming skill rather than size though - my 47.5 inch tall child is disallowed, though she is a capable swimmer. read more

I have an eight-year-old whom I pay $84 a month to take private swim lessons at the swim center. Yet every time we go to play and swim there are no pools or lanes open for her to swim in. The swim team is there every day from 230 until 6 PM, Monday Tuesday and Thursday I was told not to bring her after 6 because they have water aerobics and swim lessons. The warm pool is off-limits to her because she is over six years old, therefore the only pool that my avid little swimmer is allowed to go in is the toddler pool. I asked why they don't have lanes and areas open for families and the general public and I was told that the swim teams and classes pay a lot of money. Well so do I. I support the swim center through paying for private lessons as well as my taxes. It looks like I'll have to be driving up to Carson City to swim. Shame on you Carson Valley swim center for the way that you treat local families and swimmers. read more

It was great went with my family 4 people ten dollars what a deal! They have two water slides and a rock wall. They diving boards are great my kids loved them! i recommend going there on a hot day! read more

We come here 5-6 times a week and love it! Everyone is super friendly and helpful with any questions.

I love this place. I appreciate that there are hours when it is just adults so I can bring my elderly mother and not have to worry about her being run over by the kids. My child and I both enjoy it also. read more

Call ahead if you are interested in lessons. Water is not as cold as Carson Aquatic. Decent lanes, and outside lanes and pool as well, as well as a place for kiddies. Let me make this point clear: the view from the outdoor pool is quite spectacular. There are very vew places on earth with such a neat contrast of alpine, rugged mountain peaks and farm/ranch land. Extremely fun and exciting for small and larger kids because of kids fun area and slides. I even went down both slides and they were great. I felt this was a little more family friendly than others nearby, as far as staffing went. There are quite a few selections in a snack bar, including chocolate milk and ice cream. The chocolate milk is what the athletes at the High School meets use after they work out. There is a family changing room near the front, unknown if it is wheelchair accessible and very spacious like that of Carson City. Also there is very nice spectator seating upstairs and 2 heights of diving boards. read more

Friendly employees, the water aerobics classes are NOT the old barely move around water aerobics I attended many, many years ago....these are a workout folks, just what I was looking for. I will say the first week I didn't even know if I could climb the stairs to get out of the pool. That said, you can work at your own pace so it doesn't have to be as intense as I make it. Good for all ages. I attend classes Monday thru Thursday and Sat am; sometimes adding Friday morning. Tested muscles and all it is great; in fact I really hate to miss days, which has never been an issue in other exercise classes I've gone to (except Jazzercise, which I USED to love til I blew out my knee)!!! Try it, you'll like it and there are (happily for my schedule) a variety of times for classes. read more

Indoor/Outdoor lap pools give you year round access to the pool. Great resource for our community. Love it!!
