I work in Mound House and can't get into the gym before work so decided to check this one out after I got off. I arrived around 3:45 ish and was surprised to see it was pretty busy. The front desk staff wasn't as friendly as my home gym but that's okay. I only popped in to use the treadmill for about a half hour. The treadmills are different than my home gyms and I wasn't sure how to find the pre programmed workouts but I still got my 30 minute work out in. I figured out how where to find the preprogrammed work outs after I had already finished mine but that's okay because now I know for next time. The women's restroom and locker room area were very clean which I was happy to see. I also liked how everything was spaced and how conveniently the equipment cleaning stations were placed. Planet Fitness - Treadmill - Gyms Near Me - Carson City, Nevada

A little frustrated.... Doctor said I'm too fat, so I joined this gym. Workout plan is Monday, Wednesday, Friday, early AM. I've shown up here 3 times now and they're not open early AM on Mondays. I don't know when they open....but they're not open at 4AM. The PF App, Google, and Yelp all note their hours as 12:00AM - 11:59PM Monday - Thursday, then closing at 9:00PM Friday - Sunday. They don't seem to understand that 12:00AM on Monday occurs just a fraction of an instant after midnight on Sunday. So really, this gym is only 24 hours Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I'll give them a week or two to figure out how to get someone there for the Monday AM shift before I instruct my bank to stop payment to Planet Fitness. Always a couple of degrees too warm, unless you are near the ridiculous ONE big fan they have in the middle of the main room. Why not a few other "normal" sized spaced strategically to move air through the ENTIRE GYM? I don't know why gyms allow any ol' rando to choose music. It wasn't as bad when I went previously as it was more in the background. Went after not being there for awhile, and was greeted with screechy techno something that was waay too loud to ignore. Finally had to enlist the aid of earplugs which were no match for the cacophony! Please keep it nice and "neutral" or in the background. Many of us aren't 20 somethings that might appreciate it. Most staff I've come across are okay, some even helpful, but they need to pay more attention to the nooks and crannies so we aren't confronted with hairballs and debris lodged in the equipment crevasses. Still hoping someone opens a gym catered more to "mature audiences" with pleasant low-key music and cool and comfortable atmosphere. read more

Quality/Quantity - Day 1 - Doing my weekly/bi-weekly visit to Carson City and finally noticed that you are now open. But because we did not know that, we were not dressed to work out. Still came in to see the new facility. My wife especially liked the showers; two parts, one to shower and one to dress. It is also safer to keep your valuables (all gyms, not just PF). See all the gym signs. Day 2 - 8/10/25. The young person working the front was on it! He was very professional and welcoming. Atmosphere - New. Has all the newest equipment. Way more digital equipment than all the other PF that I frequent. I especially like the newest version of the massage chair! Open 24 hours. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Same owner as the other 4 PF in the area. But until this day, including the CA locations that we have visited, the location in South Reno has the BEST service!! Day 1 - The team here was okay, not friendly but not bad. Just okay. I inquired about why they did not send us notifications of their opening?!?! To create buzz and bring more people in...? They said it was not possible for her to email everyone individually. In today's day, I would expect that to be just a push of a button?!?! I guess you are not an outlook or Salesforce based software. Day 2 - Again, the young man working was very welcoming and professional. Price - Depends on your membership. $15 a month for regular membership, $25 for black card; we are black card members. They also had a pre-open promotion but I am not sure if they are still doing it. Planet fitness is HUGE, clean, multiples of every machine, and. Also, I like that big a$$ fan keeping the air moving. Friendly staff, nice bathrooms, and free lockers in the main gym are for your keys & purse. There are plenty of day use lockers in the locker rooms too, but you must bring your own lock. Don't even get me started on the 'spa' amenities. For a low monthly fee you get to use all the massage chairs, tanning beds, cryogenic thingie, hydro massage table.... I visited this PF while I was in town. I live in Reno but happened to be in Carson for the weekend. This location is AMAZING. I wish my Reno PF had all the equipment and extras they have here. They have multiple fridges with protein snacks, drinks, water, etc. Their machines are brand spankin' new and amazing. They have an area for free weights with benches, a turf area as well which was so cool. I'm jealous Reno does not have all this stuff. Super clean and well managed. read more

when PF first opened in Carson City, it was spotless. However ... the last 5 months the cleanliness of the gym, changing room, shower area has gone down the toilet. Very dirty, oily handprints on weight benches, floor mats are filthy, hair dust bunnies, on the floor, in the shower area. Can someone please pay attention to this, please. This place has become extremely disappointing. Management changed the hours of operation without properly informing members, which is unacceptable. They are no longer open 24 hours from Sunday into Monday and are now closing earlier on weekends--yet membership fees remain unchanged. If you're going to reduce access, there should be transparency and an adjustment in pricing. It feels like customer convenience is no longer a priority, despite members being the reason this business stays open. This lack of consideration is frustrating and deserves attention. read more

I absolutely love this gym!! The machines and gym are always clean. The staff is welcoming and friendly and can answer any questions you have. They have great perks like a Spa area that has massage water beds, massage chairs, tanning beds, and the red light booth. I love how close it is to my home and shopping centers so you can get stuff done before or after the gym. Even during their busiest times you can still get on a machine you want because there are so many. read more

This place is getting worse as the months go by. Never any paper towels in the containers. It's getting dirtier and dirtier all around the place and there's typically one person behind the counter answering calls, greeting people checking them in and setting them up for the perks that are available when you pay extra if you are the owner of this place, please step it up. read more

I just joined the 24 hours Planet Fitness gym membership. The next week they lied to everyone and changed the contract performance hours. Now they are open from 5 am to 9 pm on weekdays... 7 am to 7 pm on weekends. They won't refund my $50.00 fee or my $25.00 months fee. Totaled ripoff and bad business practices. Not 24 hours as they promised and stated in their advertisement for me to belive them and join. read more

Sure there are convenient locations! However, they keep saying they're going to get trainers and they never show up. It's part of the contract. They had one a really good one at the south location and she's gone Mariah. She had a degree in kinesiology. She was amazing! Other than that, they tell you to use the computer, or to scan the square, not everybody does that kind of stuff what happened to people skills and customer service? Half the time the staff is on their phone Carson City new location has just piled up on the equipment. For help I'm working certain equipment. They tell you to read. I don't think the staff knows how to use it either. read more

Gym is really nice, clean, and the giant fan spinning at the center creates a breeze that is so nicd I wish I could have it at my house. The bad part is that everything is done through apps. And if you have any questions or anything the staff just says check the help page on the app. I'm honestly not sure why they even have staff. If the app has issues, or you want to make changes to anything then you are out of luck. It is pretty common people have troubles, so instead of fixing things they have cafe tables set up that always have at least one person pouring over their phone trying to figure out something with the app and no staff helping them. I guess I'm old but I remember when employees ran the business instead of being weird babysitters for the app. read more

I don't recommend Planet Fitness. I have not been any further than the front desk. I joined prior to the Carson City Planet Fitness opening. Whatever you do don't give them your credit card or routing number for your bank. They have billed my credit card for two months. Saying I haven't paid and will not refund me. That is their policy. I would rather give no stars!! This is an update of my review, I spoke to the manager of Carson City, Alyssa. She said that she couldn't do anything for me and to contact the regional manager. Only gave me an email amanda.jimenez@planetfitness.com. Emailed her asked her to call me on 8/27. No response. The way Planet Fitness deals with clients is no contact. The good, lots of redundant equipment this translates to near no wait times. Its also really clean. The bad, the staff, with the exception of the red hair lady(between 3 and 5) are absolutely useless droids collecting a free check. On a regular basis, things that are posted on signs, meaning, PF thought, this needs to be a rule sosp3nt time making a sign about the rule, is broken nearly on the daily. It seems employee closeness supersedes that of the QA and member safety and satisfaction. On several occasions I have brought stuff to the attention of the front desk, and they just nod and could careless. People take their shoes off to train, people wear flip- flops, jeans, full on construction wear, and more recently, not put things back. Like 700lbs of 45lb plates on the leg press(they barely could move) or 8 45lb plates on calf raises and just waking away for other members or employees to unrack. This was the straw, I said somthing to the front desk and once again they did not care. So I said Ill say somthing myself since you people are just paid greeters. The other member got pissed that I said somthing to them and proceeded to shout named at me from across the gym. Because of the spineless check leeching front desk people, this place is a fight club waiting to happen. Giving 2 stars that would be an easy 5, but management keeps these passive "just here for the check and to greet people" employed. Your lucky you are getting two. read more

My only complaint is the lazy employees. the only one that works and cleans is Terry He is always moving and putting items back in place. The other employees stand at the front desk on their phones. 3 employees were like birds on a wire this morning...on their phones behind the front desk...one employee brings her knitting items and knits. read more

The gym was very clean, and that is about it. The staff was very rude. I told them I had moved from California, and this gym was alot different from the one I used to go to. They didnt offer to show me around, not "have a nice work out" nothing. There customer service is horrible. I'll be looking for another gym to go to. read more
