I've been here 4 or 5 times over the years for various work. The major one was for a rear-end collision (fairly major) and while I received a loner during the repair, I was surprised at how quickly the damage got fixed. Less than a week (5 days I think). Amazing! The rest of the visits were for minor work such tire changes but was always met with a good rate or even a no charge on a coupe of visits including the last one a few days ago! Love that! Our car was hit when a driver swerved into our lane - the rear door and quarter panel were damaged. I looked up the reviews and Ivan's was one of the top picks. Unfortunately​, I was in an accident that could have been completely avoided. Anyways, I wanted the repairs done fast! fast, simple, with no complications so I looked through ALL repair shops ICBC suggested and this was one of my top 3 places. Had the accident on Friday, went into Carstar on Saturday​ morning and Marjorie, the women who makes this whole place go-round​ was more then I could have ever asked for. She is so wonderful, everything went so smoothly and all the paperwork was easy and fast, I didn't pay a dime. ($2800 worth of repairs) Dropped the car Monday morning, the courtesy​ car was a 2016 Nissan, clean, good on gas and efficient​. Picked up the car Thursday morning, fixed, cleaned in and out and polished. Side Note: I had a few scratches that needed to be fixed from a friend who had damaged the car and several other places quoted me $1200 to get the car fixed and Marjorie​, was so kind, she dropped the price to 800$!!!! This is the first time we have used Ivan's and rate it "as good as it gets!" - actually we would rate it 10 out of 5 if we could! Let me tell you why. 1) exceptional, quality service from everyone with whom we interacted: Marjorie was great - so empathetic and efficient. Chris and Ivan were very friendly and knowledgeable and the repair job was beautifully done 2) great communications with us - Chris and Marjorie told us where they were sourcing the parts and where the car was in the repair process 3) the shop itself was immaculate 4) the loaner cars were clean and had no signage on them 5) car was washed and cleaned after the repairs In short, we hope we won't have to use there services again but if we have to choose an auto repair shop, for sure it will be Ivan's. So I hit a deer going down the I-5 while I was in Blaine...in broad daylight. I never would have thought in a million years of hitting a deer, so be careful for all your folks driving down to Bellingham. It was right after I crossed over from the truck crossing too. My front bumper was toast, it was falling off and it was all dented and broken... Always get comprehensive insurance if you don't have it, ICBC covered it and my insurance didn't go up, I just paid the $300 deductible. The next day I Yelped some auto shops and Carstar was on top of the list (thanks fellow Yelpers!) and they were close to my home. Off I went, not knowing if I was going to get ripped off or not as it's my first time for an auto body repair. Marjorie, the queen of the shop, was super helpful and knew more about cars than most mechanics. She was so nice and reassuring, I've never met such a kind soul. She took a look at the damage and I told her I had a wedding to attend the next day but I didn't want to drive with a ugly bumper. She got me into their shop loaner right away! It was a brand new Corolla with all the technology. I took my car in on a Friday, and I had it back on a Wednesday, the turnaround time was amazing! Also, shoutout to Chris, as he was super friendly and knew his stuff. Oh, and the shop was super clean with fresh paint, and no dust, which means alot to me as so many mom and pop mechanic shops are filthy and gross. So thanks again guys for the great work on my car, and all the hardwork you guys put into making the shop so seamless, I would recommend Carstar to anyone that needs an auto body shop. read more

Took my vehicle to Ivan's after an accident. I could not have been more happy with the way they handled everything. From the receptionist to the guys on the floor, everyone was polite, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make you happy. Had an ICBC claim for a bit of hit and run damage on my door so I decided to get a crinkle in my car's tailgate fixed at the same time. I shopped the job around to a few body shops and settled on Ivan's. Not only did they have the best price for fixing the crinkle, their work was top-notch. The car looks better than it did when I bought it three years ago. As a plus, their courtesy car wasn't peppered in stickers advertising the fact that your 'real' car was in the shop. read more

I had a really wonderful experience at Ivan's. It was recommended by a coworker and thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The staff were friendly, yet straightforward and they got the job done quickly and efficiently. The repair to my driver's side door and front bumper looks perfect and as a special bonus, my less than pristine car was washed and cleaned up inside and out. They gave me a nice courtesy car with no stickers and were flexible when I needed to pick my car up a day late. Margery at the front desk was so sweet and Ivan and his staff are lovely as well. Outstanding experience and exquisite service. Just two hours after collision I had everything arranged and organized for repair. Marjorie at the front desk took care of entire logistics and paperwork while Ivan (The Boss) made sure that quite demanding repair is possible within very short period of time for my previously booked trip to US. When I left my car in store they provided me with a luxury curtesy car and ETA. Three days later, as estimated, I came back to pick up my car. It was like new, like nothing happened, just perfect + thoroughly cleaned inside and outside. My entire rear windshield glass shattered after going over a speed bump in my build's parking garage. The windshield wiper came out place and dented the aluminum piece underneath. The windshield was repaired a little under a year ago here. I brought my car in to the shop and was told I must have hit something, something must have hit it, it could not have just happened on its own. I then brought my car to a different accredited glass shop and was told that the windshield wiper was not secured and was completely mobile. They even suggested I go back to the original shop. Had to deal with poor attitude and completely shirking away from any responsibility even though their website states guarantee of workmanship. read more

Just got my Rogue back, on time. Ivans was where I wanted to take my company car for repairs but because it was significant ($4000), my work wanted me to get competing quotes. At another shop, the guy convinced me that the best repair was to replace the door skin, at a higher price. Back at Ivans, I asked them to quote with door skin replacement too. Chris explained to me why that was a bad idea, how the factory weld of door to door skin is better than what can be done outside the factory.... basically talked me out of spending more money on the repair than was needed. They also gave me a free loaner car for 4 days while the repairs were done. Bonus was that they even ordered in and replaced a small trim piece broken on the other side of the car that I'd forgotten to ask them to replace when I'd left it with them. A hit-and-run in a parking lot left a small dent with paint chips on the front passenger side fender and bumper of my FR-S. Ivan's made it disappear in two and a half days. The bill came to less than the deductible ICBC charges for such an incident. Marjorie and I had a chuckle at that. The loaner was fine and displayed no auto body signage. Some despicable person did a hit and run on my car and leaving not just a little ding but a nasty deep dent along with scrapes. Needless to say i wasn't too happy but my colleague refer me to Ivan's so i dropped it by Monday morning and low and behold it was ready tuesday afternoon. My initial experience with Ivan's was positive. It went steeply downhill on subsequent visits. I was in an accident, 100% covered by ICBC as it wasn't my fault. One side of car was replaced. Picked up my car, while it looked great... there were 3 things immediately wrong with it: airbag light was on, side mirror was not put on correctly and there was whistling air coming in. I get it - I am human, people overlook things. I took it back in (each time having to take time off from work to do so), they fixed 2/3 problems. They said they couldn't hear the air coming in. It was only at high speeds but as I drive the highway to work every day, I heard it twice a day. Every day. I took my car back 2 other times - both times I was told they couldn't hear it. Once, they had the audacity to tell me that sometimes people think they hear a noise after their car has been in the shop when it actually isn't there. I couldn't believe it. Had a great ICBC agent who supported me going to another Autobody place. They could hear it but wouldn't touch someone else's work. Took it to another place - who ALSO heard it and agreed to work on it. It is better - but at the end of the day, it was a job not done well. I now have a car that has this sound where it didn't have it before. One thing to accept it that a car makes a sound secondary to an accident. A whole other issue when the owners tell me I am essentially making it up. I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend Ivan's to anyone. Customer service is deplorable. read more

My vehicle was broken into and our passenger window smashed. I called a few places for cost estimates and got the normal "It'll be a $300 deductible". Which was not what I wanted to pay, I didn't have anything of value stolen! I spoke with Marjorie at Ivan's and she was so nice and helpful. She gave me great options one of which was exactly what I was looking for but hadn't been offered yet at other places. The price of the labour and replacement was well below the ICBC deductible (which I wasn't going to bother to claim, it wasn't worth it), and my husband met Ivan when he dropped the vehicle off, who was also super nice. Our window was replaced the following day, and they also cleaned the inside so that no trace of glass could be left anywhere. Ivan's Auto Body is highly recommended. read more
