Whenever I get into one of those unfortunate car accidents, the first place I think of when having my dings and dents repaired is K P. They are an "ICBC Accredited" shop, so any minor accident that was not your fault, and was no hit and run, you complained of no bodily injury, and ICBC has waved the deductible on you, most likely you will not even have to go to the claim centres, as when you tell them on the phone, you can just go here. A big shop, where the entrance for a car is on the back alley, which is really close to Brittania Secondary. Any body work that needs to be done, they do a great job in restoring your car back to what it should be looking like. The workers are helpful in explaining what they did after you pick up your car, are very thorough from front to back. The guy who runs the shop (Kevin) is very friendly, and over the years of coming here, he knows who I am, and all his clientele, and not treating you just as another number going through his shop. They have courtesy cars here, that are a bit older, but they have them, but what really sets this shop apart from the rest is the service, attitude, and care that take on working on your car. Took my prized 1992 Volvo 240, bought new and never damaged previously, to KP's to repair a bent out front bumper and gouge to the side panel. Damaged backing into a parking spot and catching the bumper on a steel fence post. To say the least, I was heartbroken. Due to the age, a replacement bumper couldn't be found so they repaired it. I was totally amazed at what a great job they did, and the paint job on the side panel was a perfect match to its original paint. As a bonus the car was thoroughly cleaned inside and out - detailed. I couldn't have been more pleased; haven't felt so good about my car in years. Get ready, this is a long review. It looks really old from the outside and may make customers think twice before bringing their cars in for a repair, but don't be fooled, the shop is truly amazing. I pulled my damaged vehicle (less than 1.5 month old, brand new) into the back lot and was sort of hesitant. My mom had her car repaired at the dealer and they did a horrible job and since the dealer I bought my car from brings their customer's cars to that same dealer for repair (both dealers under the same company), I didn't want them to repair my car. I had my hood dented, fender dented, headlight crushed, bumper scratched, windshield cracked at bottom, and of course a wheel alignment and frame check would have to be done (which ICBC dosen't pay for, but this shop paid for it for me). It was going to be a big and expensive job. Car was Pearl White which made paint matching even more difficult. Kevin happened to walk out of the shop as I parked my car and greeted me with a smile. He was very kind and we spoke for awhile. He had even showed me his work and the steps he takes for car painting. He would not just tape off areas he didn't need to paint but actually take out the handles, headlight, etc to make sure the paint has good coverage so that it won't peel in the future. I left feeling that my car was in good hands. It took 1.5 months for the repair (accident near end of November). Delays from ICBC approval to shipping parts during holidays and being out of stock in North America dragged the repair times. When they're first offered me a 2016 Corolla, I had asked for an older car since I didn't need such a new one which I would have to look after. I ended up with a 1999 Corolla DX. I had trouble driving it in the snow so Luis swapped me over to a 2003 Acura TL. They were patient with me through out the whole, swapping-cars-too-times, deal. Luis was super helpful and was able to answer all the questions I asked. Luis did the reports and files for ICBC's approval for the repairs. I'm really inpressed with the paint job, white pearl is one of the hardest colors to match and it looks perfect. My car was returned to me clean both inside and out. Everything was very well doctumented and neat. I'm glad I came to this shop, they have my full trust and would recommend anyone I know to them in the future. It's not worth it to cheap out on repairs when you are not happy with them and later on get annoyed everytime you walk past that poorly repaired area. read more

I had a 2 year old Lease Vehicle that had some pretty bad scratches in various places around the vehicle. I was fairly certain it would need Auto Body work. I took the Vehicle to several auto body shops around Vancouver who quoted me between $1500-$2000 to do a full sand down, paint, and clearcoat. Then I went to see Kevin at K P's Auto Body. He advised that the scratches were quite bad, but they should be able to wet sand and buff most of the scratches out. He was confident that it was going to be okay. I returned a few hours after dropping my Vehicle off, and it was amazing. I could barely see where the scratches were before. From 20 feet away, I could not see any damage. The price that Kevin charged me was a fraction of what I was going to pay elsewhere. I would highly recommend K P's! Kevin and the gang were great and personable. Gave us a loaner car that was clean and current. It took longer than expected due had to wait for parts from the States. He doesn't cut any corners and is up front with the repairs. There were a couple of concerns when we picked up the car but Kevin addressed them all to our satisfaction. He replaced the tab in the trunk that was apparently damaged previously, unbeknownst to us. The engine compartment appeared very dusty from the shop and he offered to clean it. The battery we had apparently was dead and he offered to swap it out for another battery he had kicking around. All done at no charge! Got a passenger side door dent due to a concrete pole in my blind spot as I was backing out of a spot in a parking garage. I guess that is a right of passage in Vancouver, but I wasn't happy. It also scraped some paint off the fender. I have an old BMW in cherry condition and really wanted the repair to look perfect. I shopped around and received a few other estimates, and decided to go with KP. Kevin and Luis are very nice and friendly, and it seemed like they were doing good work as I looked around their shop. They also have many great reviews. I was a little nervous cause my car was previously painted and the color isn't exactly BMW stock, but I must say KP did a great job to match the existing paint. Their price was about 1/2 the most expensive guys in the area, and Kevin had the car back to me in just a couple of days. This was my third visit to KP Auto Body Shop. Each time Luis and Lena were very helpful. Luis looked at my car and reassured me that the body damage would be fixed. Lena was stellar in the office connecting with the rental car agency and arranging pick up so that I could easily get a car to use while mine was being fixed. My car at the end of each visit was beautiful! The damage was fixed and the car was detailed with the mold and dirt from being parked outside gone. I could not have been more pleased. I have to say that Kevin is such a great guy - I really want him to do well...they've been in business since 1976 and there is a reason for that - honest and dependable. After my boyfriend's car was backed into on the street, we contacted ICBC and were given a huge list of accredited places to go get our car fixed. We live downtown, so started calling all the downtown locations- all which had wait times. (This place is listed in the East Van category) I decided to come on Yelp and check out what people were saying about different autobody shops. This led me to KP's. After reading the fantastic reviews, I told my boyfriend to call them up. They said they would take a look that afternoon, so we booked an appointment. Kevin is the owner of the bodyshop. He really cares about the work he does. He gave me a good suggestion of the best way to fix my car, while keeping the most value. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to take my car in faster than the other guys. We got the car back in way better condition than when it went in there. Everything was fixed, fully detailed inside and out, and he even went the extra mile on trying to help get out a couple of dings the car had before the accident. I had damage to the rear of my vehicle. The back gate had been dented, the bumper dented/scraped, and the panel was loose. I did some looking around at different auto body shops and noticed that KP's had excellent reviews. I brought it in, was assessed by Luis, and he was very friendly/honest about the work and parts required. The lady running the front desk was very friendly and helpful as well. They provided me with a loaner vehicle while my car was being fixed. The actual work took only about a week. Not only did the shop do an immaculate job on the repairs, they detailed the entire outside AND inside of my vehicle without me even asking. It's shining like a diamond on the outside and inside. I was hit-and-run in Vancouver, and took my car to KP's after reading reviews online. I was obviously quite upset with the scenario, and didn't want to have to deal with a long and frustrating repair process. From start to finish, I was very impressed with their professionalism and customer service. They are all extremely friendly, and clearly know their stuff when it comes to vehicle repair. KP's took care of everything involved with ICBC and ensured I knew every step of the process. My 2010 Honda Civic looked amazing I got it back. It was well polished/waxed on the outside, and it was vacuumed, detailed and shampooed on the inside...I felt like I was in a brand new car. My Ford needed major paint repair and and some minor bodywork after scraping itself badly against a pillar in a parking lot. After reading all the reviews for K P's Auto Body Shop, I decided to give them a call and then drop by for a estimate. I took all these 5-star reviews and comments with a grain of salt, but after meeting Kevin and his wife, who runs the office, I understood why the glowing reviews are deserved. He took his time to explain exactly what needed to be done to the car, a timeline, and explained the steps to report to ICBC. His shop is ICBC accredited and has the express reporting service so I don't need to take the car down to a claim centre. All my dealing with ICBC was through the phone and all I had to do was give him my claim number. I was given a loaner car, an older, but serviceable car, and was told, because the shop is very busy, it might take a week to a week and a half. Fortunately he was able to finish the work a head of schedule and I was able to pick up my car in just under a week. Not only did he fix what I originally came in to get fixed, he also took care of some minor issues that I asked about that weren't pressing, but annoying. Driving out of Kevin's body shop was like driving off the dealer's lot. The car was immaculately clean, inside and out. Dealing with Kevin, his wife, and Luis was like meeting with old friends. Customer service from everybody in the shop was topnotch. After getting into an accident that was (unfortunately) my fault, I was cringing just thinking of how much it would cost out-of-pocket to fix my early 2000s sedan on a student's budget. I was recommended to see Kevin by the amazing guys over at Grandview Tire on Commercial and I am so glad I came here instead of whatever autobody shop was closest. Kevin was honest about the extent of the damage and the amount of work that would have to go in to it. He suggested they take apart the front to see what needed replacing and what was repairable and invited me in to check it out so I could make a decision whether or not to go ahead. He showed me all of the pieces that would need replacing and quite literally laid out the work in front of me. I ended up giving the go ahead and couldn't be happier! The car actually looks better than before the accident. She runs fine and you can't even tell that her hood had a brief love affair with the trunk of a Lexus. Kevin kept me updated on the work being done every step of the way and the price I paid at the end was exactly what we had agreed on before he went ahead with it. They even detailed the rest of the car for me (not an easy task thanks to the stubborn moss that wouldn't come off the roof) and she's a dream to drive now. I know I definitely got the best work and price that I possibly could thanks to the guys at KP's. If you get smunched, go see Kevin. TLDR: Fair first offer, friendly people, lifetime warranty, car looks like the day I bought it (Seriously)... WOW! I hit a garage pillar swerving to avoid a new driver sticker-ed Porsche 911 that came screaming around the corner in International Place (such a quintessential Vancouver happenstance). Dented the rear door as well as the metal behind it. The damage was such that a lot more work than just fixing the door was required. Went to a well known body shop chain and even after negotiating ended up with a pretty high price. Lucky for me I have a friend who owns a body shop in New York state. He gave me a more realistic number and told me to keep looking. Yelp claims KP's is the best body shop in the city so I went here. Kevin and his team were not only very friendly but their quote was pretty darn close to my friend's estimate right off the bat. My car was ready during the week but I didn't have a chance to get away from meetings to pick it up. So Kevin actually came in on a Saturday so I could have it for the weekend (this really underlined how nice KP's is, it really is genuine). I came around the corner at KP's and was presented with a mint condition Prius. I walked around it twice and was so surprised that I literally checked the license plate to confirm it was mine (I'm still laughing about this but really the car wasn't just fixed, it looked like a 2015). My Prius had accumulated dings and scratches from mountaineering parking lots over the years as well as from quite extensive travel across North America; the dings and scratches were gone! Not only that, they had detailed the interior and it looks fantastic! My Prius literally looks like the day I bought it from the Toyota dealership at Capitol in San Jose, California. In fact, the various metal pieces around my rear door actually fit better than the undamaged side (so much for Toyota's much vaunted Kanban process). This really surprised me, I can't restate it enough, my car is literally perfect. Excellence deserves recognition, and there isn't a body shop in North America that deserves it more than KP's (and I've lived all over). read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I know this may be long, but please take the time to read!!! I do NOT recommend this place at all! I recently was in a minor car accident and long story short, the other person was at fault and begged me not to go through ICBC. I decided to give the young man a break as the insurance was his fathers and didn't want any trouble with him, I wanted to be nice but still wanted the damages to be paid for. He quickly agreed and I offered him to come along to get estimations with me so the process would go smoothly. I found this place and decided to give them a call, they told me to come in person. WORST MISTAKE EVER. I arrived a little earlier than the other party and asked for a proper estimation to fix the damages. KEVIN came over and suggested I can either just do a quick paint job that would mask it for $50 and ask for some settlement money (extra money) or do the proper fix for $1000. I told him that I would rather have it properly fixed as my vehicle is on a lease and I don't actually own it. I need to bring it back in 8 months in the same condition I first got it. Fair enough right? The young man and his mother now come in and KEVIN spots them and immediately starts talking to them about what we just discussed. I found it extremely odd that he would do that as it's not his place or his business. He then started speaking to the mother in Chinese, and the mother started making expressions at me, along with KEVIN. He went back and forth in English, and I clued in that he was trying to make me look like I was going to rip them off! He started to belittle me, came off as EXTREMELY rude, told them he's "going to shut me up" and that he was "not on my side". Kept speaking in his language and I was in shock! Not only is it NONE OF HIS BUSINESS OR HIS PLACE, he didn't even know the situation to begin with! The fact that I could have easily went through ICBC and make them pay a high price but didn't, should have already showed I was trying to be kind to them. He doesn't need to pick "sides" or give his 2 cents about which way to fix my car, especially to the party that are at fault. THAT IS NOT HIS JOB. THAT IS NOT WHY I CAME IN FOR! I came in for an estimation to PROPERLY fix the damage to my car. THATS ALL. I did not come here to get disrespected like I did. I told him how unprofessional he was, how rude he was, how it was not right for him to talking the way he was and to mind his own business, this sparked an all out yelling battle with him cussing at me till I was out. I truly believe that if they weren't from the same country that none of this would have happened. It was odd how he hurried to them to tell them something as if I was going to hide it, and to cater to them with the utmost respect while tainting my character. In the end, we all left and the young man and his mother was confused by the way he treated me and apologized on his behalf. I'm usually a strong person but this man brought me to the verge of tears. The worst service ive ever gotten. Brought my car in with a front end collision. I tell Kevin that my steering wheel is shaking since the accident (I later found out it's because my front drive axle was no longer aligned). He told me that he wouldn't look at it and that he brought his "AC" guy in and my air conditioning unit was fine so that was enough for him to tell me off. I reluctantly agreed to get my bumper and hood fixed mainly because I trusted him when he said the rest of my engine was good and so was the rest of the car. When I took my car in I was scheduled to get a newer courtesy car ( I have children and needed a vehicle that was compatible with car seats) but instead I was given a 1990 Toyota Corolla that blew a flat when I had just taken the car and started to get on the highway to north van. The next car they gave me was a 1999 Honda that when I took it grocery shopping it's battery died and I had to call bcaa to get a jump. They finally gave me a new vehicle after almost three weeks. If I could recommend: don't go to KP auto it will save you a huge headache. read more

Some lousy driver hit my bumper/left front quarter panel, and I had to get an ICBC approved shop to do the repair work. Most shops are booked solid and/or won't offer a courtesy car. I found KP's good review on Yelp and decided to call them. Luckily they had a cancellation and could take me in after only waiting 2 days. I get that I was just lucky. Louis took very good care of me from the minute he picked up the phone. He saved me time by allowing me to drop off the car without having to go in twice, he gave me a courtesy car (albeit old, it got me from point a to point b), and when I called to check on progress a week later, he knew who I was and which car in that big/busy shop I was calling about. The best part is when I went to pick up my car last night. He explained the invoice (that I didn't have to pay for, since it was being paid by the other driver's insurance) in detail and the warranty on their work. They had detailed my muddy car inside and out, and conditioned my leather. Most importantly, they had polished out some other minor scratches I had, and touched up some chipped paint. My car looked better than the day I bought it (second hand, 7-year-old car at that time). So yeah, they did a great job on the repair they set out to do. But they went above and beyond what is expected, which is why I am giving them a 5-star. It sucks when your car needs body work done. But if you are going to pick a place to spend your money, you really want to give these guys a shot at winning you over with their service. read more

I should have posted this earlier and my apologies to Kevin for not doing so. I have truly never experienced the kind of customer service that I got at KP's auto body shop. Not only did he make all the repairs that were required from my parked car being front-ended, but he went way beyond the call and tried to fix all the other dings and dents and cracks on my car (and there were many) because he wanted to be a good neighbour and he wanted to show the quality of the service provided. People I know do not believe it is the same car that I drive now. They think I must have traded up, bought a new car, or paid for extensive repairs. And, I paid nothing. Luckily the person/people responsible for the damage let ICBC know that they were responsible and Kevin did the repairs in record time and threw in so many extras that I will be forever in his debt. Some kind citizen decided to key my (new to me) month old 2011 Jeep Cherokee down the passengers side and after reading the reviews here I decided to take it to Kevin to get fixed. Best... Decision.... Ever. Kevin is a master of his craft and I would imagine what he and his team don't know about body work isn't worth knowing. They even cleaned the interior and gave it a spit shine and polish before they gave it back. And they got it done faster than originally quoted. One of the best customer experiences I've ever had for any service. I can see why Kevin has been in business since 1976 and how everyone gives him such strong reviews. First, the work was exceptional...my car hasn't looked this good since it rolled off the lot. Second, his guys took the time to do an outstanding detail job, as just part of the service, going above and beyond. Third and most importantly, he and his right hand man Louis took the time to get to know me and meet my concerns. My car was done 2 days earlier than one of the big chains had quoted me. The customer service and work done here at KP Autobody is top notch. Our family car got done here after it got into a mini accident. The guys at KP fixed it up perfectly; the scratches were gone, little dents are nowhere to be seen anymore, they fixed the mirrors, and they even cleaned the inside of our car. While our car was in the shop, they lent us a loaner car which was really great because my family and I still got all of our errands done. My wife and I were trying to preserve the pristine paint on our new 2018 Honda CRV but got the inevitable first door ding. We took it to KP's because we'd had a very good experience there a few years ago with a bumper repair. Kevin and his team were great. They were friendly and professionally and took our problem seriously, even though it was comparatively very small.
