Great Range! Staff inside the shop are very helpful and attentive, I bought 2 pistols from this location and they have always been pleasant. They help you find what you needs whether is a firearm or even if it's just some extra magazines, they'll be very helpful. The range is also great, very clean and the range officers are very helpful and pay close attention to the shooters. I don't mind that we cant rapid fire, it's not a deal breaker for me, the cease fires are about every 20 min which is not bad, I like being able to go and retrieve my target and check out my shots. The stalls are clean and they offer side guards that way you don't hit a fellow range goer with your brass and vice versa. This place has pros and cons, in regards to the cons, some they can control and some they cannot. Pros: 1. facility is excellent. They have a rifle range, skeet range, and huge area. 2. There are range officers moving about that appear to actually be looking for safety issues and I found them to be helpful. 3. They have cease fires every 15-20 minutes since there are no electronic devices bringing your targets to you. 4. Really good selection of firearms (at least pistols) and various gear. I found an extra magazine for a Taurus 709 and those are hard to come by. Cons 1. If you want to shoot on the weekend, be prepared to wait in line when you arrive. With such a good facility many people go there. If you go right when they open its not as bad. Probably not much they can do about it, and complaining about how busy they are is a waste of time. I've seen similar wait times with quality indoor ranges. But regardless, it is an issue customers have to deal with. 2. They are expensive. Range fees are high, ammo is average, and I've found their pistol prices to be above average. Once they have you in the store, you're more likely to buy something, and they certainly charge for the nice facility. Business do have the right to charge as much as they want, and we have the right to spend money there or not, so I can't complain too much. In addition, many people shoot there so others are willing to pay for their facilities. So just be aware, they are not the cheapest game in town. 3. There isn't a great way to get there. It's out in the country a little bit, so it's not exactly 5 minutes from anywhere. But again, you need space to have such a nice facility, so it's for the most part out of their control. read more

Walked in and requested a lane with my wife, my teenage stepson, and his friend and the lady at the counter asked for everyone's ID's. I then told her these are teens, they don't have ID's so she asked who their parents are and I said me. Since I look young, she makes an uncertain face. I handed her my ID and she said there's no way you can have a 13 year old, you're not his dad! Very rude and personal! And I said hello, we're married. After that she was very rude while checking out. The safety guy on the firing range was very rude to me because I asked if I could get a refund because I didn't feel welcomed or safe there. I got my refund and left and I will never go back here nor will I recommend this place to anyone. read more

I visited the day after T-giving. What a neat place: huge brightly lit store with a great selection and extremely knowledgeable sales people. These people were no-nonsense but very glad to show me stuff and teach me things even though I did not buy anything. The rifle range (100 yards) was the best set up and organized and safest I have been to. You can be very relaxed with the breaks every 20 minutes when all shooters are called upon by the Range master to stop briefly allowing target changes. It was $9 per gun (each gun you were going to use that day was tagged) to shoot ALL DAY. Many fathers with their teenagers and younger there. Get this: each shooting bench has its own spotting scope, wood rest and sandbags! Friendly, happy shooters. Absolutely the nicest shooting range I have ever been to. Store too. read more

Horrible sales experience and mount and bore sight done half ass. First, young incompetent sales associate was very rude and I felt rushed the entire time. Secondly a scope that had a price tag on it was different than the shelf price. He said that they would not honor it even though the tag was stickered to the scope. I then said, "I'll make sure to mark that on my review". He replied, " go ahead you won't hurt our business". Then by the time I picked a scope and had him mount it and bore sight it. He neglected to ask me how far up On the rail I wanted it for the eye relief and just brought it to me. I told him to please move it back and he gawked and said "we'll maybe I shoulda asked you that in the first place". Then to top it all off I go outside to sight in at 50yds-100yds, and I start shooting and get my 50 dialed in pretty good. I then moved over to the 100 yd lane 8 shots later and noticed immediately the rifle was shooting way left and all over the place. Kid left rail mounting bolts loose and I had to completely start over again because of scope almost falling off. Terrible experience. If it wasn't for a man named Daniel that helped me after the trip I would not be going back. Good atmosphere for most part. Range people are very knowledgeable and kind. Prices are little higher than most places. read more

I have been a daily shooter here for about a month and a half. I shoot skeet and have been very pleased with the range staff. I usually shoot between 3-6 rounds a day as I am training for competition. The equipment is old and inconsistent but I was willing to deal with that. The rounds are more expensive than most other places but its close to the house so I overlooked that. The reason that I will now never return there is this, I was called away before I could finish all of my rounds so I had two rounds left. I got my tickets back and tried to use them the next day. I gave the tickets to the puller and he told me he couldn't accept the tickets with the wrong date on them. I then went to the cashier and asked to exchange them. She recognized me when I walked in and asked how many today? I told her that I had extra rounds from yesterday that I wanted to exchange and she told me sorry there is nothing she could do. So to the folks at Carters Country your high tech anti counterfeitting process saved you from being taken by the infamous skeet countereitting cartel but it lost you a customer who spent a few hundred dollars a week in your establishment. read more

Range fees are incredibly high. If you are shooting one rifle for a while, it's not bad as there is no time limit. Bringing more than one, I'd go elsewhere, especially if it's a military style rifle, they charge more for those. Some of the staff is rude, as the range safety officials. They got all pissy when I tried to put up a cheap target I had in my bag I bought at academy. No outside targets are allowed. The barriers between lanes are short, so on a busy day you can get hit with ejecting shells from the person next to you. I will drive up to conroe to gun emporium before I go back to carters. read more

Sales associate tried to tell me that all Smith and Wesson AR's are built with a dust shield and a 1/8 barrel twist. I ask to see one and he hands me a Smith and Wesson with what? 1/9 twist and no dust shield. To top that off he was extremely rude and unprofessional. Looked at a Ruger SR556 with the price of $1800. Buds gun shop has it for $1350-$1450. Way overpriced as well read more

I used to really love this place good price great staff but it has gone down hill. Staff will try to seel you something you don't need generally they are very rude. This isn't one instance I tried it 4 other times and still very disappointed. Prices and staff are terrible will not return iv been a customer since 2002 up until about 2 years ago. I used to shoot skeet and use the rifle range I no longer go there any more. If found a much much better range now. Please do your self a favor and go else where. read more

Went shooting at the range it was great. Its outdoor and a wonderful atmosphere. All the range officers and salespeople were great too. Will go back very soon. I would recommend this range to anyone. The prices were great too. You can spend all day there if you want, you can even leave and come back later if you keep the wrist band and gun band on. Most places are by the hour which can be very expensive. A great way to spend the day. read more
