A little while back my brake fluid warning light came on in my Scion Tc. Only I didn't realize it…read morebecause the little red "brake" light that serves as the indicator for the brake fluid also serves as the indicator for the parking brake. Not intuitive, Scion. After driving around with the light on for a month or so, it finally annoyed me enough to read the manual. Low brake fluid is apparently kind of a big deal. And not in a good way. With a road trip to DC only 4 days away and some mountainous terrain in front of me, my brake situation had to be remedied quickly. And that's where Imports Plus came up big. I called Brad on Monday and he fit me in first thing the next morning, even though it was obvious that they were pretty busy. When I got to the shop, the guys took the time to take me into the garage and show me the wear on my brakes and rotors. Despite the necessity of the fix (which I knew before going in), they weren't pushy at all. Understanding my budget, they told me what I should have done immediately (rear brakes - worn all the way down), and what I could wait on (front brakes - a couple months left). They made a call while I was in the office to get the necessary parts and were able to finish the job by the time I got off work (actually, by noon). Speaking of which, they even made special arrangements for me to pick up the car because I wasn't able to get over to the shop until after their normal closing time. All in all, I had a great experience with Imports Plus, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a shop in the Grandview area. They did all the little things that you'd expect from a mechanic, but so often you don't get. My car required necessary work and I was in a rush to get it done. They could have taken advantage of my situation, but they didn't. Repair shops get a bad rap, but in my experience Imports Plus genuinely cares about getting the job done right and putting customer service at the fore.
