When my car needed new tires, and I had to work all day,.... I called them up and they got me scheduled. I went ahead and got the highest brand since that's all they had at the time. I dropped it off, went to work and picked my car up after my shift. Cue today, while I am driving through ice and snow, my car moves like a dream. Only had minimal sliding. Prays on women, if I could give no stars I would. I took my Nissan Rogue in for rear brakes that I heard grinding. Grismer mechanics came back and told me I need rear brakes, brake fluid flush, front brakes, rear bearing, front tie rod, and a new set of tires. I was so stressed and overwhelmed I decided to sell my car before putting $3k into a car with over 180k miles. I told them only do the rear brakes. They decided to include the brake flush because they charged me $660 for the rear brakes. I then took my car for a second opinion and they said none or the things mentioned was dire. I do need tires but can wait a couple months, I need front brakes but can wait a couple months. Grismer told me my front brakes would be gone by the end of the weekend. They had me so scared to drive my car I bought another car to drive before I got my second opinion. Big mistake, but it was the path I was led down by misleading, money hungry mechanics. Terrible and shameful and Grismer should refund my money on the brake fluid flush I did not ask for, they suggested, and they did this work without my request, I said "rear brakes" and they included the flush. My son got tires here. No real problem with the tires, but he got some free oil changes with the tires. After the first oil change, I decided to try to change the oil myself the second time due to some other issues with the car. The plug was in so tight that I rounded it off. I've done tons of oil changes and never encountered a plug in this tight. The filter was on really tight as well. But before I tried to take out the plug, I did get the filter off with quite a bit of work and put a new one on. A couple of weeks later, he took it back to Grismer, and it took them hours to get the plug out. They had to try all kinds of things and charged him $100 of labor, new plug, tax. I'm thinking that because of the new filter on it, they believed that I put the plug back in too tight. Let's make this clear, they put the plug in far too tight after the first oil change. They can keep their $100. We will just never return. read more

My experience here was excellent. Needed my brakes looked bc of noise I was hearing in the front when applying my brakes. Brakes were supposedly replaced when I bought the car from a dealership. They told me that the brakes were replaced when I bought the car. After several thousand miles, I kept hearing noises. The guys at Grismer looked and found my front pads were grinding; the back brakes were like new. They replaced the rotors and gave me better quality pads for the front. They work great and no noises. RUN DON'T WALK! A few years ago, I trusted them. Rick at the South 4th street location in Columbua used to seem trustworthy, but no longer! Upselling from the moment you walk in--especially tires. They twice caused damage to the car and then tried to charge me for what I believe was intentinal--like turning the side door passenger window off and then destroying the catalytic converter and then charging me to fix what worked fine when I drove in. I found somewhere else that fixed a repair for $800 when Rick wanted to charge me $3000! Too bad. Used to be a good place. Can't say enough bad things about them now. read more

I was told if I got there early today at seven or eight they could change my turn signal bulb while I waited. So I hustle down there and am told I have to drop the car off which I just couldn't do today. I hate it when companies waste my time like this. read more

8/30/23 - take this review for what is worth to you - I booked a brake check online for a used Hyundai Santa Fe we just purchased - Online it said the brake check was free "for most vehicles". I figured a Hyundai Santa Fe fit into the category of "most vehicles" My wife took the vehicle in and was told by the original helper that the brake check was "complimentary". When she left - after being talked into an alignment ($109) - she paid and came home...At this point I looked at the bill and noticed a $75 charge for "used car check"...(side note - they did NOT include the results of the alignment check in the packet from the visit - I was hoping to see how bad the alignment was before correction) The manager had, apparently added the charge, because the brake check was for a used car we had just purchased. FYI -We planned to add it to the vehicles we bring to them for maintenance services... I believe, since the vehicle had not been serviced by them before - he decided he would charge us for the brake check...even though he would be receiving future maintenance revenue. I called and talked the manager about it he offered a $35 discount of the $75 charge...but my wife had to go back in and talk to them about it. I disagree with how they handled this and they have lost a customer because of it. read more

I called in the morning with a staple in my SUV tire and Brian was very kind. When I arrived I felt welcome and the service was genuine and honest. I ended up needing a new tire but felt so satisfied I booked an appointment for my car the next day. I even brought the guys donuts! After joking around with some ladies in the waiting room about cabin filters and how overpriced they are. We all agreed it was a good service test for them to offer to have us change them ourselves. To my surprise Patrick the store manager overheard us. He came into the waiting room and insisted on showing me my cabin filter in the garage. After being confrontational and mentioning revenue being nice. I simply stated that it's a small thing but shows a lot about service in a company. When I returned both women I was chatting too asked if I was okay as they saw how abrasive and confrontational Patrick was. While paying Patrick, did apologize but did not seem sincere and put the blame on me saying "I felt that way" not that he was indeed confrontational and genuinely sorry about it. This went from an amazing experience with the potential of life long loyalty to never coming back and feeling intimidated. read more

While getting new tires last Dec. I got an emergent call from the technicians that I needed new brakes. I could not afford to do all four at that time so the technician said I could get by with only two new brakes until my next oil change. Well after driving scared for 6 months I'd finally saved the money for the additional two brakes and it was time for my next oil change. When I showed up they could not find the appointment I had scheduled a week prior. But worse when they checked my brakes they found nothing wrong and even couldn't tell which were the new and which were the old. So it appears that I paid for emergent new brakes I didn't need and then paid additionally for them to tell me I didn't need new brakes at all. So although my tires I got in December are functional I cannot say that Grismar be trusted when making maintenance recommendations. read more

Right off the bat I'm going to tell you that I will definitely come again Took my car here out of a friends recommendation, I had a slow leak tire Bad. They said it would take an hour to repair so I ended up waiting for the tire to get fixed and it took 2 hours Medium. They did not take my drop off, I needed an appointment which is not a huge bad Good. Good and friendly service, clean place, big screen TV to watch the news Best. This review starts a year and a half ago with a flat tire. I took my car to Grismer and they had the tires replaced in no time (AWD= all tires replaced). And it was a reasonable cost. I brought my car back for an oil change, filter change, and genera check up. We are currently still in the middle of the COVID19 pandemic and I'm very happy with how the customers were treated. The main service representatives were wearing masks, hand sanitizer was provided, chairs in the waiting room were spread out, and everyone was kind and supportive. Not Good at Listening While getting new tires I asked the service writer to let me see the rims before mounting the tires because they had a slow leak and I suspected that the previous Grismer technician did not clean the rims well. Instead, the service writer showed me the rims after taking the tires off and told me how the problem was with my car's wheels. He never did show me the wheels before mounting. After that, they kept me waiting in the waiting room while they set up the wheel alignment without asking. I declined this because the last time I had gotten the alignment just right to eliminate a slight pull to the left. I think that the technician adjusted the alignment anyway while the service writer was trying to upsell me. Now the car slightly pulls to the left, and one tire started leaking after 3 months. I'm done using Grismer Tire for oil changes. The last time I took my 2012 Ford E-350 van for an oil change, technicians put synthetic oil in in despite the fact that I specifically requested conventional oil. When I returned for the next oil change I was told that if the engine had synthetic oil in it changing back to conventional oil "...will damage the engine." This is a myth, and is not true! I hate being lied to! I'll go elsewhere. read more

These guys were amazing. They explained that they didn't have the same Michelin tire, but simply a different / higher speed rated one. They were kind and polite and I felt like I was walking into a family owned affair where everyone was pleasant, kind and truthful. After Goodyear just said, after setting an appointment and dropping car off, "sorry can't get these", a kind lady there gave me the name of Grismer to call. They were blocks away. I called and a young man named Justin had me take a picture of the tires and said to come right over and he'd drive me back to my office. My husband called him and he kindly explained everything. We picked up my Mercedes' a couple hours later from the same kind people. Thank you. Will never go anywhere else! Yep. That good. read more

Multiple times I've came in and they've told me something need to be fixed that didn't need to be. This has included high price items like shocks and struts, and a large portion of my brake system. I'll take it to another place and they'll tell me nothing is wrong. Its also never something I go in to fix in the first place. read more

I called a week ago and scheduled tire service for 3:30pm today. I took off work early and arrived ten minutes early for my appointment. After signing the paperwork, I waited over an hour in the waiting area. I approached the desk noting that my car has not moved from the parking area. The desk technician told me that they were waiting for an "open bay". He suggested I reschedule my service. At this point, I'm wondering the benefits of rescheduling a service with a company that does not consider a scheduled appointment something that is important to the customer. I have used this Grismer location before with good results. However, something has changed, and I sense that the staff no longer cares about the customer. There are plenty of tire and auto repair businesses to choose from. I thought I had found one that I could trust for reliability and quality service, but apparently not. My review is only for the Beavercreek location, so please do not take this as a review for Grismer's entire business. My perception is that your experience will be entirely dependent upon the attitude of the staff and management of each individual location. I will not be giving the Beavercreek location a second chance as they clearly do not deserve it. read more

We've been a customer for several years, bought tires and gone for service, never a problem, until today. Called Monday to schedule an oil change and tire check for Thursday. I was told to bring it in when they open, no later than 8:00 and they should have it done by noon. When we arrived they can't find any reservation and they tell us to come back next Friday. They say maybe we called a different location. I show him on my phone which number I called, and he confirms it's their number. Then he gets an attitude and tells me to leave the car, but he has no idea when it will be done. I'm not going to leave my car with an angry guy. Will never be back. If he would have acted professionally and apologized for the mixup, I would be ok with them. Accidents happen. read more

I had a groupon for an oil change and rotation and went to the Downtown Columbus location. They were right on time with my appointment and courteous about the Groupon. I would say the service here is outstanding, the prices no so much. I felt like I left paying much more than I initially anticipated for tire replacements, but the job was done exactly right and I was able to drop my car off without an appointment. It took the shop around 5 hours to completely diagnosis and fix my vehicle. I was satisfied with the service, but I'm guessing I could have found somewhere cheaper ($180 a tire) I don't know much about cars, but my guess is that the price was too steep. The good news about this place is that they were able to get me in so quickly, and I sincerely appreciated that. This would have been a 5-star review if the price didn't hurt so much. read more

The shop on Broad Street is awesome! We had been told by a dealership that our truck needed new brakes and cylinders totaling over $1800. We asked the guys at Grismer to look at it and give us a quote so we could have them fix it. We were ready to say yes, please fix when we got the phone call. You need to drive it more to get the rust off the brakes, nothing more. Your cylinders are seeping but as a mechanic I see no,reason to,put a wrench to them now. you are good. We asked about cost and we were told no charge. It's refreshing to see people who want to work in this time and who are honest, polite and looking out for,the customer not themselves. I really don't have a frame of reference if Grismer is fair or good, but my Scion xB has 100,000 miles on it and they just changed out two cracked belts, gave me new brake pads and rotars, tire rotation, oil change, and fluids for $700 and it's not squeaking anymore. They did the job in less than five hours, have friendly staff, and there's a real waiting room with an enormous potted plant that people were photographing so I did, too. read more

Any place that doesn't try to upsell you on a bunch of stuff you don't need deserves at least four stars. At Grismer, my wife took in our Jeep to get new breaks. After inspecting them, and knowing we had 86,000 miles on the original, they told her that only the rear breaks needed replacing. They even gave her a little discount for choosing them. Super friendly and very fast service. We'll be taking our car here from now on. read more

Got a flat late last night brought it in when they opened at 7:30 this morning. Called me within an hour said couldn't be repaired and tire I wanted to match had to be ordered and wouldn't be in until Monday. Was totally fine with that. I've been here twice (once for an issue with my TPS and once for an oil change) and I've been impressed with the service each time. My first repair was very reasonably priced (about $160 for my issue) and finished within a day or so. Very convenient for me, especially for an irritating issue (my TPS monitor was malfunctioning and throwing blinking error codes whenever I drove). However, the oil change experience particularly impressed me. First off: from what I can tell, these guys are honest and won't try to up-sell you on anything. All I needed was an oil change, and I got it, no questions asked. Second: I wasn't aware that scheduling an appointment would be best for an oil change, so I walked in one morning before a big trip thinking everything would be copacetic. Much to my dismay, their schedule was 100% booked, but considering my circumstances they were nice enough to accommodate my oil change after I left the car with them for the afternoon. To top if off (though this was pure chance!) I got a $25 off coupon from Grismer in the mail THAT VERY DAY and used it. Bam, $8 walk-in oil change. It couldn't have gone smoother! I was so ecstatic I practically wanted to leave a tip (though I'm not sure that's normal in auto repairs, hahaha). Good guys! I'll be coming here from here on out whenever I need anything. read more

I admittedly know next to nothing about cars, but that doesn't matter here. The staff at Grismer has always been extremely helpful and kind both in person and on the phone. I recently took my car to a different auto mechanic that told me I needed to replace my serpentine belt due to cracking. The price they gave me was a little high, so I decided to look around for other quotes. When I spoke to someone at Grismer, they informed me that the belt only needs to be replaced if the cracks appear every 2-3 inches (good to know)! I had them check out my belt during a recent oil change, and they informed me that the belt did need to be replaced - and they replaced it for a much cheaper price than my initial quote from the previous mechanic. I did encounter one small issue. When dropping off my car at the shop the night before, I searched and searched but couldn't find any envelopes for their key drop! I ended up using an old bank envelope in my car to drop my keys in that night. When I spoke to an employee the next day about it, she apologized and told me that they did not have any envelopes for their overnight key drop. She then told me that they are going to be remodeling their building in the next few months, and that they are going to be making a lot of improvements. So that was good to hear. They frequently have oil change offers on Groupon, so definitely look into one of those if you're interested in trying out Grismer. read more
