This was my first experience in Cartier and I have to admit I was a bit intimidated going in. My husband and I stopped in to find a Trinity ring. The staff here was fantastic - even though we were not making a huge purchase by Cartier standards we were made very welcome. I was between sizes and they were extremely patient and offered excellent advice while I decided which was most comfortable. Having a Cartier piece is special in itself, and the staff on Newbury made the shopping experience equally wonderful. read more

I have shopped here several times and been very pleased with the service. I recently needed to get a gift which I had only seen online. I rang them, but they did not have it in stock. The manager Christian was very excellent and got me the product within 3 days time as promised. When I went to pick it up, Jeremiah was very helpful, and I got several good ideas for future gifts. Service is just as good as I received in Geneva, Switzerland - except in Geneva they gave me a purse once as a thank you when I purchased something. I gave three stars for my overall experience but five stars to the Asian lady (I wish I had asked her her name) who helped me. I arrived at Cartier to get my Santos 100 watch (purchased elsewhere) authenticated. I first spoke with a dark haired Caucasian woman, slightly short, average build with glasses - again, I wish I had gotten her name. She asked me to take a seat. She said someone would assist as soon as a customer service person is available. Tick tock, tick tock...thirty minutes go by and nothing. Even if no one was available, a brand of this caliber should have salespeople that have the sense to at least inform me that they haven't forgotten about me. Then this Asian lady, who happened to be assisting another customer sitting next to me stopped by to offer him champagne. She asked me if I'd like some as well. I declined but told her that I had been waiting a while to get my watch authenticated. After she finished helping the customer, very professionally I might add, she immediately came up and efficiently looked the watch over, checked the product number on their system and told me that the watch looked authentic. She also answered my questions about getting the piece serviced. I asked her how much I owed and she said it was free of charge. Hospitality and customer care should never be linked to the short term sale. Cartier needs to train their sales people to support the brand through service, not a quick 'wham bam thank you ma'am' sales transaction. Because of the Asian lady's attention and service I left the store with a better perception of the Cartier brand than what could have been. read more

THIS IS NOT A REPUTABLE STORE. GO TO A DIFFERENT CARTIER STORE. DO NOT SHOP HERE. DISHONEST! DISHONEST! DISHONEST! I own a number of Cartier watches. The watches are regularly serviced - batteries replaced, etc - most often at the main Cartier in Paris (NOTE: visiting the main Cartier in Paris is a treat -- the store is beautifully appointed and they will replace your battery while you enjoy a complimentary espresso on the upper floor overlooking the showroom - it is an elegant and delightful experience) Last year, I had the battery replaced (in Paris) on a Tank Francaise chronograph. Shortly after the battery was replaced, the watch stopped working. I brought it to the Cartier shop on Newbury Street. They kept it for a few days and then told me that that the seals were broken and there were other problems -- the price for repair was $800. Since the watch had been completely serviced 2 years earlier, I found this hard to believe. I questioned the manager and was told that they could not access the battery replacement in Paris - different computer system - but that this made no difference: if I wanted the watch fixed, the cost was $800. I subsequently brought the watch to a regular watch repair shop. They said that "the contacts" were not working and the repair cost was $55.00. If I could give the Newbury Street Cartier a lower rating, I would. In this difficult economy, stores like this should nurture relationships with their customers -- not try to take advantage of them. Shame on the Newbury Street store! Cartier makes beautiful, classic watches. Buy them and have them serviced elsewhere. read more

I love this Cartier. From the first time I stepped into this store, I felt very welcomed. They go out of their way to greet you and help you. Jeanette has helped me out and I purchase my ring from her. It was a very great experience and everyone there is very knowledgeable and gives you advice and input. They also educate you on diamonds and I find that to be a big plus since I did not know anything about that before!! You will not be disappointed. read more

Poor customer service. We went in around 5pm for wedding bands. Nobody attended to us. Two customer service agents were busy on their computer. We had to ask if someone will help us. Then we after waiting we had to ask twice before someone nonchalantly helped us. Despite of reading nice reviews of customer service, we felt very poorly treated. For some asians (cash-rich foreigners), they even offered water and biscuits and didnt even bother to help us with our purchase? Miffed, we went over to Tiffanys and world of difference in customer service. Bought our stuff at Tiffany. read more

My wife and I went in on a Saturday in the mid-afternoon and it was busy. We waited almost 25 mins just to pick up a necklace I had pre-ordered for her. I watched at least 4 sets of customers come in and leave because no one could serve them. The salespeople would disappear out back leaving the management of the customer queue to the security guard. I suggested upon check-out that they dedicate one person to pick-ups and/or delivery because I know others were there for the same reason I was there. The store was nice and the salespeople friendly but they need to have a better strategy when dealing with peak traffic. read more

The sales personnel rock here! Very personable. Very private. I was given so much attention it was unbelievable. It did not matter if I looked at inexpensive or very expensive gift items. The sales staff made sure that every single thing I looked was very special. Gorgeous items. Priced correctly for what you get. The store was immaculate condition. Absolutely spotless. Everyone looked like an A List Model. They really go above and beyond. I appreciate the amount of attention they give over some of the simplest and little things. read more

I bought 2 wedding bands for our 25th anniversary. My husband is seriously ill and he couldn't come to Boston for many months now. I picked up the wrong size for him. The sales associate, probably Sorbonne graduated with her nose up to the sky, did not say I had to come within 30 days if I needed a different size.I should 've known that. Anyway I came after that period of time, but still was the same year. Another sales associate talked to me barely. He said I have to pay for the resizing(I needed the smaller one). He also said that my husband wore the ring. Hardly if I needed 4 size down. I left the ring with him. That person, I forgot the name called after 4 weeks. I thought he wanted me to come and pick up the ring. No no, he just called for the evaluation(after 4 weeks!). The workshop is apparently not in New York anymore.
