We have been going to Cartoon Cuts since our son Matthew was 18 months and he just turned five. Even though we started out going to the one in Woodbridge, we only go to the one in Springfield because Ms Amina is there. She has been cutting our sons hair for a long time and when they closed down in Woodbridge un expectantly we didn't know what we were gonna do. We took a chance and went to the one in Springfield and there Amina was. Everyone else there that has ever tried to cut his hair always messes up. Ms Amina will sit there, listen to what you want and cut your child hair perfect. But sorry, If they ever fire her, we will never return to them. read more

I would give this place 5 stars IF they took appointments. On the positive side, Sophia and Mr. Le have been amazing. My boys have not been easy (crying, wiggling, mostly when they were even younger), yet Sophia and Mr. Le manage to get perfect haircuts every time. And the boys even like coming here now. The major downside is the no-appointment policy, and therefore, the unpredictable wait. If you're the first customer, great. But if there is even one person ahead of you, it seems like the wait can easily be an hour. read more

If you love your child do not and I repeat DO NOT take your child to this place. We tried the Asian lady to cut my two year old son's hair. Worst thing ever!! It was choppy and uneven. We went during a weekend and it was not busy. She sat him right away. From the start her professionalism was horrible. She is impatient, unhelpful, rude, and I believe she did a horrible job on purpose. We asked her to even the back of the hair, she said NO that's how it is, mid cut. We asked three times between my husband and myself for her to even it. Every time she became impatient. A man who works for cartoon cuts eventually started to laugh at her frustration with her own impatience . My son has received cuts before and this is by far the worst! Don't try the Asian lady if you plan to take your child. I recommend you stay away. I wish my husband didn't tip her and I really should have told her what was on my mind. If I could only give no stars. I went to get my daughters bangs trimmed for her holiday pictures tomorrow. Now, my daughter has a mullet for her pictures. No angling no styling just sprayed some water and cut right across. The so called stylist tried to hide what she did by spraying a ton of water and making it wet. Don't go to them. After our first bad experience, we were offered a gift card to try them out again. We left much happier this time. The stylist was Sona, and she did a great job with our 1.5 year-old. Although he was rather upset (crying and squirming), Sona agreed to let him sit on my husband's lap. She was very patient with our kid, and took as much time as needed in order to provide a good haircut, making sure all the hair was an even length. It was funny; as soon as the haircut was over, our son was all smiles, giving high fives and fist bumps. read more

The service was fast and great. We arrived with no appointment on a Sunday afternoon and they fit us right in. They did a great job on my 2 year olds hair. I showed the person what style haircut I wanted and they were able to accommodate. read more

Mr. Le is the best! He's wonderful with toddlers, and my son is a tough customer! Our first haircut with Mr. Le was the first time my 3 year old was actually calm for a haircut. We've been back twice since, because the haircuts are excellent, and the experience is so much better than the barber shops we'd been to previously. read more

Today was our 3rd time taking our 2 year old son to this location. The first two times we got the same female stylist who didn't blend the back and top very well, and who left the back of his head a little too long. Today Le cut his hair, and he did a fantastic job! It's probably the best haircut my son has ever had, and it took less than 10 minutes. It was also the first time son didn't sob through the entire haircut. We usually just walk in without an appointment and take whichever stylist we get, but we'll be requesting Le from now on. read more

Similar review of someone else. We brought in 2 of our kids. Our youngest went for his first haircut and everything went well. Mr. Le was very good with him. Then he asked for our daughter to get in the chair. A few minutes in to the second haircut, another stylist came over and asked my wife why our daughter was in the chair and who told her to get in Mr Le's chair. She then told my wife my daughter should have waited and stormed out of the store to use her phone. I understand there's an order for stylists to follow in terms of which stylists works on the next client but we were made to feel as though this stylist was robbed of a tip on purpose. She should have spoken with Mr Le AFTERWARDS instead of putting the blame on the customers. Bad form. read more

My son is 9 years old and has been going to the Springfield Cartoon Cuts for the past 5 years and he only likes Mr. Lee and that is the ONE AND ONLY person I would trust at that location. Unfortunately he wasn't working yesterday and we got stuck with a lady named Princess. My gosh rude lady. Didn't smile, laugh or anything plus she was pulling his hair very roughly. On top of that if I'm paying $20 for a hair cut which is very expensive then I expect a $20 hair cut. She messed up my sons hair from the front. It's uneven!! I have never written a review before that's because I've always gone to Mr. Lee and he does an exceptional job but she messed up my son's hair. read more

I had a great experience with my sons at Cartoon Cuts. I'm always nervous when trying out a new stylist as I'm critical and usually quickly find uneven flaws. One of their employees, Le, cut their hair and did an outstanding job. One of the best haircuts they've ever received. My oldest (7y.o.) has unruly hair that is difficult to cut, but Le was very skilled. My three-year-old was apprehensive to sit in his chair due to the newness of the situation. Le quickly handed him a train, offered a lollipop, and asked which program he'd like to watch on the television. My son hopped right up in response. We'll be back for the next haircut! read more

Our 2-year old had a great experience here! Peppa Pig videos play at the stylists stations and all of the stylists were very kind and efficient. Mr. Le did a great job cutting our son's hair. When he was afraid of the clippers Mr. Le put him at ease, and when he became restless Mr. Le gave him a toy train to play with. I don't understand other reviewers who complain about price - the price is much less than we were paying elsewhere. It's true that it's a busy location, but with the free play area out front and a vendor who rents toy horses for "rides" it was still a good experience overall. read more

All of their decent reviews are from 2016 and earlier, so they must have gone down hill. We went in to get a baby's first haircut, an exciting time for first parents... when we arrived, there was a toddler screaming (understandable), but the stylist didn't even care. As we signed in on the computer screen, we were told the wait was 10-15 minutes. Ok, I'll walk around a bit with the baby. After 10 minutes we were told the stylist quickly went to the restroom and will be right back. 15 minutes later we realized she was on her lunch break, not a quick bathroom break. We were never told we had to wait so long and told the manager/owner that we couldn't wait any longer. He insisted she was finished with her break and he will go get her. She has a right to her lunch break, he just never told us she was on break. I didn't want him to interrupt her and he ran to the back to get her. She reluctantly (obviously) came out and said my child's name in a way that was "how dare you interrupt my break." I did not feel comfortable having someone take scissors to my baby's hair when she probably thought we were just being demanding parents. Not a good experience for his first haircut... we left. read more

Took our 10 month old here today for his first haircut. It couldn't have gone better. Even though he cried the entire time, our stylist Sarah was so calm and patient with him, the cut turned out amazing. We are very happy. We will be returning to have Sarah cut his hair for now on. Mr. Le is good and that's about it. Don't go to Sophia, she's horrible (cuts, service and attitude). I went back there today to see who was working for my 2 year old son's haircut, Sophia was there- no thank you. If I wanted my son's hair butchered again, I'd have another kid do it. They said Bich was in at 1 and they would call me, so we walked around the mall. At 2 pm, still no call, so we ended up at the Barber and Co, way better experience and a much better, professional haircut for cheaper the price! I'd suggest to just go there and not waste your time and money at Cartoon Cuts. If your child can sit still without crying, just go there (because they won't allow them to sit on someone's lap). You assume your child's next since there is none else inside. Then out of nowhere three different children show up and they tell you that they are next. I am a new customer to this place. I was taking my son on base to get a haircut but it never turned out nice looking. So I was going to a child's place before but it's a distance and wanted to find a new place. My husband remembered this place and I thought I would give it a try. So the first time I went my reservation got lost and never showed up on their system but even though I had my confirmation number and was early and it didn't close for 30 min I was not seen. The stylist was cleaning up and packing and would not take my son as it was her last day. But did schedule him for next day. This time I got a reminder text that I didn't even know that I would get. I liked this. And my son was able to get a haircut. At first I was afraid he was going to miss out and he was looking forward to it. There was a leak in back room and I thought the hairstylist was going to say she couldn't do it. But she cut his hair and did exactly what I wanted and a great job. Security was called and they came while we were there to help with the leak. We will be back. read more

I would give more stars but only 1 out of the 2 haircuts was done well. One child looked great the other was a joke.. it was the that one that sat still that was a mess..If I had known it would have been that way I would have had the same stylist do both haircuts. Also if there is only one parent with two small kids why not be kinder and have them sit in chairs next to each other? I understand some places that is another person's chair/workstation but they even make exceptions. I was disappointed I had to go back and forth losing sight of one child to check on the other. Also, appointment time and booking over another client doesn't seem to mean much to them...I loved this place's idea for the cartoons with the cut to make it easier but I may need to find a different location that offers the same thing.. because this location was a disappointment. read more

Visited the brand new Cartoon Cuts at the newly reopened Springfield Town Center. It was fantastic! This place really knows how to treat children, from talking with them to using the fine art of distraction to give them a great haircut. Each station is equipped with a small screen so that your child can watch a video, if you so choose. If you don't want the video, they will gladly leave it off. There are booster seats for shorter kids, and a safety belt (same material as a car seat strap) is used to secure them in place. My 2-year-old was captivated with a truck he was handed to play with while he received his cut; the stylist, Munaza, even handed him barrettes and clips to put in the truck while she cut his hair. My son is too young to lay still to have his hair washed before the cut in the fun-looking elephant sink, so Munaza used a spray bottle to wet his hair. It's little things like this that make this not as stressful an event as it could be for some kids. Very happy with the end result - Munaza gave our little guy a great cut! read more

I was there recently with my two year old. He hates getting his haircut. Receptionist put us on a list, told us it was a 20 min wait with 4 people ahead of us. Came back half hour later, told us we had six people ahead of us (due to others signing in and coming back...what the heck?) and it would be 20 min to half hour wait. Came back again after that, waited 15 more minutes. Receptionist should be honest about the wait. There were two people working, so even with four people ahead of us, there's no way the wait would have ever been 20 minutes. She should be honest about the wait time. She sat there on her phone the whole time playing on the Internet and texting...unprofessional. The gentleman that cut my child's hair wasn't what I would call a kid person, but he did a pretty good job. I have no idea how he cut his hair straight, given my son was moving and frequently tried to jump out of the chair. I would consider going back and letting him cut it again, but probably not on a weekend. read more

My daughter ALWAYS had her haircut by Amina. We followed her from the Woodbridge Cartoon Cuts. Thank God we found her at Sharkey's Kid Cuts in Lorton because I will never go back to the Springfield Cartoon Cuts! The staff seems miserable and unhappy...it reflects the poor management. Sofia the supervisor is not fit to be in her job and is very rude and condensing. She steals from her employees and is very rude to them in front of customers. I took my 5 year old autistic son for the first time as it is always a huge hassle to cut his hair. The overall experience was great. I think the cut is pretty pricey especially since he wasn't given a wash or anything, just a trim down costing us about $20 not counting tip. I also think I am going to have them cut it shorter next time, but that is completely my fault. read more
