My roommates and I were looking to get the house cleaned so I did some research and we decided to go with Carvalho's. They were very efficient in responding and super organized with the process. I thought a team of people was coming but it was just one person. Her name is Luciana. She was the sweetest person and she did an amazing job. The floors are spotless, the fridge is clean and she set it up with paper towels so that it will remain clean for some time to come. She also scrubbed the oven very well and lined the bottom of it with foil for us. The whole job was great and she was very independent in doing it. I was excited to schedule a deep cleaning with Carvalho and was able to do so. Not only did the team show up late (because they had to stay later at someone else's home) but they told me they couldn't deep clean and could only standard clean that day. No problem. I was told standard clean was $90 and felt comfortable with that. They did a decent clean but I was charged $165 as if it were a deep clean. I called to ask to modify the invoice and was given another for $130 because it was the first standard clean!! A complete scam. I would have happily paid the $165 for the deep clean like we had scheduled. They couldn't deliver and I was stuck paying an extra $40 for a standard clean. I definitely would not recommend this company. Dishonest and definitely not customer oriented. read more

I was very happy with the cleaning, and satisfied with the price. However, after damage to my dresser, everything changed! The owners came to see the damage. No one could figure out how it happened. The cleaning girl denied she did it. I did not press the issue, and did not seek any compensation. I understand accidents happen, and I was very calm and polite to the owners and the cleaning girl. We continued to use the cleaning service, even though I did not even receive an apology! And then I suddenly got an email saying we can no longer service you, "your schedule is too complicated"!!!! What is complicated about every other week, and an occasional guest room cleaning? I am very flexible, yet it was obvious they did not want my account. I guess guilt set in! Not only were they professional and courteous, which is always nice, they really cleaned. Most cleaning crews spend their time chatting and surface wiping. NOT Carvalhos. The ladies worked hard every second they spent at my home. They were very thorough, even removing an area rug to clean the tile floor underneath. They were organized, efficient and very detailed! We contacted Carvalho for a quote. Two days in a row they gave us appointments and both days they were no shows. On the day of the first appt, the office communicated with me 6 minutes before they were supposed to be there to ask if we could move the spot to 3 hours later. My Property manager was going to be dealing with them so I gave them his cell number. Not even the courtesy of a phone call!! They kept him there all afternoon for 2 days. IMO this is poor business practice means I would not recommend hiring them. If they cannot handle managing appointments, I would not trust them to commit to dates for work either. Can't speak about their actual work, but I cannot work with a company that does not honour their word. read more

I was told that she would have all the supplies that she needed but she really didn't. My house was very dirty because I've been ill and couldn't clean it so she was very caring about that.
