Received $3200 more than Carmax and $4300 more than Jim Hudson. And I was in and out in about 10 minutes with my check. Very impressed

Unprofessional Experience - Buyer Beware…read more I placed a $2,000 deposit with Abraham Tennira to hold a vehicle and returned five days later to complete the purchase, as agreed. Despite confirming the pickup date in advance, Abraham was not present when I arrived. The car was handed off in poor condition--dirty both inside and out, with no fuel, and missing the tire jack. He refused to negotiate the price, even though I paid nearly $11,000 in cash. The very night we brought the car home, the check engine light came on. My son, the vehicle's owner, posted an honest, negative review the following day (Friday). That same afternoon, Abraham called me upset and asked that the review be removed. I told him I would ask my son to take it down once the issues were resolved. I even offered to return the car the next morning (Saturday) at 8 a.m., but Abraham said he wouldn't be available until 10 a.m. I live an hour and a half away, so this created further inconvenience. Before bringing the car back on Saturday, I informed him I would be getting a professional diagnostic--what turned out to be a major mistake. From that point forward, Abraham became defensive, accusatory, and rude. He insisted the issue was simply due to the gas we used and accused me of trying to damage his reputation. That same afternoon, I had the car inspected at Firestone. The diagnostic confirmed that the warning codes were accurate: both catalytic converters need to be replaced, and the brakes are in poor condition. The estimated repair cost is over $2,000--which is completely unacceptable for a vehicle supposedly in "great condition." Abraham used religious references in his texts to justify his actions and attempted to shame me for getting the car inspected after the sale. When I informed him I would still be returning the car, he abruptly revoked his refund offer, calling me dishonest because the original review hadn't yet been removed. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We had spent over a month searching for a car, and my son was excited about this one. I was genuinely trying to work with Abraham to resolve the issues, but he refused to take any accountability--even after admitting that he drove the vehicle regularly himself before the sale. I never requested a price reduction; I simply wanted the facts from a trusted mechanic before discussing next steps. Buyers beware: if you value honesty, professionalism, and post-sale support, this is not the dealership for you. The business already has low ratings on Google and Yelp, which I should have heeded. I updated my Facebook rating after this experience, and I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Please protect yourself: document everything and get an independent inspection before buying. Honestly, I would recommend shopping elsewhere. See attached inspection and screenshots to support this review. Update: I ran the VIN and the vehicle has an open recall and should have never been sold per law.

Jamil Rd off Piney Grove Rd from I 26…read more Visited recently for purposes of car appraisal, first time in at least 10 years since I purchased car from lot. I like that they have all the different brands on lot, that can have vehicles shipped in nationwide for minimum fees. I do not necessarily like that the prices are firm with no negotiation or haggling. This goes for the appraisal too, they come back with one price and that's it. It's probably personal preference but I prefer a little wiggle room vs none. The inside of the building is unchanged from last visit except there are no cubicles only lots of desks. The entire floor showroom is just desks many more than employees it is not a great look. The use to have actual cars in the showroom, this is what looks better IMO. I don't think I will use Car Max in the future, there are better deals at dealers or any other named online Car seller site.

I'm rating the car buying experience at Car Max…read more I've worked in the car business and I don't mind negotiating, but the CarMax experience is easily the most pleasant and least stressful experience I've come across. There isn't negotiation. Everything is in front of you and it's spelled out clearly. One of the benefits of buying from here is the ease of finding the vehicle you are looking for before you even step foot on the lot. You can walk the lot if you prefer, but CM makes it so easy to find your car before you even come down. You can complete the entire process online and have the vehicle delivered, or you can reserve a vehicle and test drive it on the lot. You can walk in and meet a salesperson who will help you find your car. They have a ton of vehicles available and you can select from any location to your local store for a fee. Some ship for free. Matthew B was very thorough and showed us a bunch of vehicles. He then helped us find our choice of vehicle and we paid to ship to our store. We drove the vehicle and bought it when it arrived. The sales person gets paid a flat commission so it doesn't matter what vehicle you choose. They won't try to upsell you. Whether you buy a Chevy or a Mercedes, they are paid the same. They are genuinely interested in finding the right car for you. From the test drive to leaving the dealership in our new vehicle was a little over two hours. There was no stress, no going back and forth. What you get is an appropriately priced vehicle of your choosing. I do recommend the pre-qualification, which you can do online. It's pretty accurate and prepares you for what you can expect. You can purchase MaxCare with every vehicle. That's really the only add-on. I recommend if you're buying a higher mileage vehicle. They do a comprehensive inspection and they fix any issues before you even test drive. They also post pictures of any discrepancies online. Every vehicle comes with a three-month 4,000 mile warranty. I would absolutely recommend them and will likely purchase my next vehicle from them.
