What I got I can only really equate to frozen cool whip. It was oddly cool but not cold, airy and sugary sweet. My guess is that they use lots of stabilizers and whip the heck out of it to keep it from melting as quickly. But that also makes the ice cream taste cheap, hence the cool whip reference. Loveeeeee carvel ice cream. Soft serve with chocolate crunches is the best! It is a very small shop. Nowhere to sit and eat, just grab and go. Service is great! Parking is a little tight because of the busy plaza location. Not many carvel shops left. Hope this one sticks around! read more

This is a small place. There is no seat inside. There are a couple of benches outside. I usually go on Wednesdays, as it is bogo soft serve sundae on that day. This time I tried 2 sundae dashers. Bananas foster sundae dasher was good. Cinnamon powder enhanced the taste of sundae. Fudge brownie sundae dasher was nice too. They recently introduced KitKat flavored ice cream. was worried about the small size of the shop- but WOW! the soft serve was 9/10, but the star of the show was the man making the ice cream. i mean wow that man loves his job. he was funny, he was nice, he was just a generally great guy. i'm not a person who ventures far in their food orders (autism), but there was a lot of things on that menu that i would be willing to try! would go again and would recommend. :) read more

Gentlemen serving was focused on the lady behind me in the queue rather than taking my order at the counter. It felt passively racist, unprofessional and awkward standing first at the counter and it wasn't until the lady behind me that the server had walked out to, told him that I was ahead in the queue (which he had conveniently ignored), that server shifted his focus to me and got behind the counter. Just got through my order as my better half wanted this. Hope this business learns to prioritize customer service for ALL customers. read more

I went to Carvel in Vernon at 8 pm Friday evening. There were 6 people waiting in line with only one person working, Galina. Galina was delightful, keeping a conversation going with waiting patrons and apologizing for the wait, while working nonstop to fill multiple large orders. She thanked each person for coming to the store, adding hope to see you again tomorrow with a smile and grin. Three more people came while I waited and a doordash driver. She politely told the driver she would be a few minutes before getting to his client's order because she had people waiting. I was very impressed with Galina's grace under stressful conditions!! If she is not the owner, she deserves a big raise or bonus because she certainly went above and beyond to keep everyone happy. On another note, this Carvel somehow tasted richer and smoother than other Carvel shops I have been to recently. The atmosphere is a bit cluttered and could use some sprucing up. read more

It isn't Father's Day at our house without a Fudgie The Whale cake! When you call ahead they make it to order, and it is SO much better than buying another brand of frozen ice cream cake at the grocery store. I get one with vanilla ice cream, layered with chocolate crunchies, then chocolate ice cream on top. You can also get crunchies on the side of the cake, and this year I even got a side order of crunchies!!! If you sign up for emails you get coupons for cakes and other treats, too. And every Wednesday their sundaes are buy one get one free, so grab a friend and get going! read more

This place is great. First of all everyone knows and loves Carvel so you know its gonna be quality. But these kids take customer service to the next level. The owner is a great dude. The best is when they cater the car shows in the summer at golf land. Fudgie the Whale taught me everything I know. Cookiepuss taught me to question everything I know. I live in Rhode Island, and have been wanting a Cookie Puss cake for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately for me, the nearest Carvel location is nearly 75 miles away from my house. I did a bit of research and reached out to Carvel's main Facebook page. I was told that all of their "shoppes" should have them on-hand and ready to go. So, I loaded the family into the car and set off for Vernon CT. Upon arriving at the "shoppe", I was immediately taken aback by how small it was. There was legitimately not much room to move. If this location gets busy, it must be near impossible to move about freely. I looked into their frozen display cases and was very disappointed to see no Cookie Puss. They had Fudgie the Whale and a TON of traditional ice cream cakes, but not a single one of the item I'd driven all that way for. Words can't quite express my level of disappointment here. A 150 mile round trip to end up driving home empty handed was not how I was hoping my day would go. Any chance I have of actually getting a Cookie Puss are out the window because all of their other locations are even farther and I'm not about to make a drive like that again. This was an extremely disappointing experience and not worth the drive. read more

Careless and sloppy. Photo of the cake says it all. The server wasn't the least bit apologetic or aware of the sloppiness and misspelling of the writing. She offered to scrape it off and redo it but I didn't want to take the risk. Please train your employees to write properly on a cake and have better service read more

Ordered two large ice cream sundaes and asked to substitute the whip cream and cherry on one for sprinkles. I was told "no problem". I guess it wouldn't be a problem when I got my receipt I was charged 60 cents for the sprinkles. Neither the strawberry or the hot fudge sundae had enough topping on it to call it a sundae. Very disappointing, when I am paying $6.99 for a sundae I expect more. I won't be back. read more

Just called to order a cake for my boyfriends's birthday and was promptly told to just show up tomorrow and they'll make it for me. Um...the whole point of me calling ahead was so it'd be ready to pick up tomorrow and I wouldn't have to wait around for it to be finished. Very poor customer service over the phone. I was cut off several times and none of my questions were answered. Maybe I'll change my review tomorrow when I pick it up, but who knows how that will go. So far, very unimpressed. read more

Ordered a large carvelanch.. They put literally 1 teaspoon of the candy I ordered in it. When I looked at it I said I didn't see the candy and was told it was in there and I would find it. I looked for 2 minutes without eating any of it and said again that there was no candy in the carvelanch. I was told they would put more in for more money. I had just paid $5.93 for a cup of ice cream. I had no interest in paying nearly another dollar for another teaspoon of candy. I threw it in the trash and walked out. Lesson learned. ..if you try to hand me a carvelanch like that again I will not accept it and just walk out and leave you there standing with the unpaid for item for you to throw out. read more
